ILMS: Indianapolis

Well that blows. I disco'd while in 4th overall (3rd in class). I hope I didn't cause any disasters behind me.

What a great cars to drive. And for most of the time I love this mixed field. Only some drivers should write down the (max) 9 names of the other drivers in their class so they know who to fight and who not. Such an issue cost me a spin and a lot of time. But the biggest surprise came during the 1st stop. Indianapolis .... a huge pitlane .... enough boxes to house all the clochards under the Paris bridges .... and still there was another car in my box. :-( That costs me loads of time and after that I made stupid mistakes myself ending in a bad result. But ... Kieron won ... so we still have beers and crisps. :-)

It was a win for me since this was first time I finished an ILMS event without first loosing brakes... All I needed was 50% brake pressure, 9 brake duct, and a 24 hour car. I should have been able to make race on one stop but needed a splash just before end.

I did have a difficult time slowing down though... I had to start braking a month before corner, unfortunately, I think I may have frustrated a few GT cars and spun Mario (sorry for that!)

Sorry George, but I was first. LOL

And need to repair a lot of damage.
It seems that I have a beautiful car.

Good race everyone, things were really smooth for the most part.

Track was tricky with pretty much no camber corners then out onto a high speed oval were GT1's were faster top speed than me.

Race start had Kirill and I on the front row. He buzzed past coming down to T1 and got on the brakes late but I must have too I didn't think so but we both went really wide. This probably really screwed things up behind us so sorry for that guys. Barrett managed to grab 2nd, then him and I had a close couple second gap until traffic. It fluctuated from there building some-what. Everything in first stint was going well. Well with about 2 laps left in the tank on Stint 1 my car froze for 20+ seconds in last oval corner before start/finish.
I pit and came back out 3rd behind Kieron and Barrett. Kieron very politely let me by on the front straight after a few laps, thank you! Then I slowly started to pull the gap off of Barrett. Just as we got close he pit for the second time and I just drove it home from there.

Congrats Conor, Kieron, and all podiums.

I think Riverside will be more fun to drive and I hope we get a bigger turnout.

Great race event.

Qual was good, I noticed from the sector times that Keiron had more downforce.

Beginning of the race I had to avoid a P1 car who went off at T1, and spun the car. From then I made my way back up the field. There were some different pit stop strategies going, so it was difficult to know where you would be at the end of the race. Well with a few laps to go, after a spash of fuel I came out P2 in class behind Keiron. He was having trouble passing a P1 car and I caught up. I managed to get by with speed on the long straight and then got by the P1. Unfortunately, I had a little less fuel than required, so I ran out at the last corner gifting the win to Keiron.

Fun event, shame more drivers don't join in.

Kind of a sloppy race for me. I ran with a very low downforce setup which helped me immensely on the straights but just slid around in the infield. Braking was also pretty difficult with the low downforce which was apparent after I completely blew the first turn on the first lap. The fact that my car was almost as fast or faster than most prototypes on the straights in this race also got real old, real quickly. I did not want to pass them after they would get around me coming out of the exits for obvious reasons, but really, I had no choice since they were so damn slow! :P. To add to my annoyances, I botched my pitstop by sliding through the stall and spent a good 15 seconds trying to start the damn thing up again.

But...I came out with the win and had fun doing it while racing with Steve for the lead. That's all that matters.

Grats to Ryan and Kieron on the PT wins and I'll see ya all at Riverside.

First race for me since long time and it goes straight to the podium finish - clearly not a bad one. Surprisingly there is no big diff between LM classes. Mb it will be in Riverside thought, will see.

Great Team result for Bad Voices Racing! Enjoyed some good dicing with Kiril for 12 laps or so before my 2nd pitstop, probably only due to his damage and not my skill...LOL!

Apologies to Dan for giving him a rear end kiss (???) just before the back straight - sorry mate - but took the DT as required. Just a shame that other drivers didn't do the same as the rules stipulate. Watching the replay I saw one driver pitch 2 cars off the track and NEVER take a DT. If I was the victim, I know what I'd be doing....
