ILMS: Le Mans

Qualified OK in the 3m15's, with my engine expiring on my second flying lap!

And the race! Well, ran 3rd for vast majority of it - no spins, no contact, going smooth as. 24 seconds ahead of next P1 and having made my second pitstop - just less than half way into the race. When the great God gremlins struck!

Got massive slow down into last section but managed to get through fine, seemed to clear as I started a new lap, but got through the left right, but the next right turn I must have had warping as my car hit a barrier left, then suddenly appeared heading into the barrier on the right. Massive damage, gap to P1 car behind had magically reduced to 11 seconds, and I was still having slow down.

Had no choice but to exit. Shame, think 3rd was on the cards in P1 today.

EDIT - Above written whilst race still in progress. Looks like P2 on the cards (I was ahead of Barrett), so even more gutting!!!

Grats on championship Ryan, my comp froze. Not sure why, guess it was right at the limit of tolerable heat.

Gutted, disconnected from a safe P3 in class approaching my final stint. It's happened too many times with rFactor lately.

Apologies if I held anyone up too much, don't think I did but just in case. The LMPS caught up scarily fast in the Porsche curves, glad we didn't try to race at night!

*sigh* I missed my pit. I was really focused on hitting all my marks and just blew right by the entrance. Pulled an unsafe move (no one got hurt, just one of my lower points) of trying to back in to my pit, but no go. Finally got DQ'd going backwards in the pits. It wasn't really my day, but still enjoyed the 2 1/2hrs of racing I got in :)

Contratz to the winners, and finishers :)

Chose not to qually and stick with Barney at the back of GT1 and work our way up. He had graphics freeze on Mulsanne corner at the start, luckily he went invisible :) but came back with all sorts of trippy graphics apparently but tried to continue.

I took it real steady first lap, until porsche curves when someone binned it and the front was pretty damaged. After that i knew it was race over. When your loosing 5mph on Mulsanne straight its just game over, even if the cars fine in the corners. I don't get why people sign up, only to know they're going to bin it on the first few laps and probably take 1 or 2 guys out with them..

In the race i ended up with an LMP2 trying to race me, and overtake plenty of times into Indianaplos (not the best of places).

Sorry to Richard who i hit in Arnage, you were going seriously slow into it and i didn't expect it at all.

All in all, i wish i hadn't of done the 2hour practice and got used to the night. Pretty dissapointing seen as Silverstone was the complete opposite and very fun.

First, again, very sorry to Soco for the Qualifying incident. i thought i knew where you were going, but i should have taken one more breath before hitting the throttle.

Much better result than i was expecting, i was pretty lucky today, topped off by some kind of fluke game crash just as i hit escape _after_ taking the checker!

In the second to last stint, i was losing ground to Kevin at a pretty scary rate. But i managed to hold on to just enough of the gap when i hit my pit window. Changed tires for the first time and then reentered without losing a position. I was pretty sure he'd have to stop again, but didn't want to risk a sloppy car at the end. The fresh tires and a bit of a fuel cushion were just what i needed to feel comfortable the rest of the way.

Dont worry Barrett, my result would have been the same. I was more worried about ruining your lap.

My race was over before it began. Someone hit me from behind while rolling on the start very hard. Im not sure if it was intentional but it seemed wierd to be hit with such force.

Congrats to the podiums, everyone who made it, and Champions Kieron Peace and Steve Davis.

Q: Couldn't get a clean lap in but no problems as I started in 2nd.

R: Race got started and Jan pulled a 2 second gap or so pretty quick but I wasn't pushing hard and I'm sure he wasn't either. We seemed to stay within 2-3seconds consistently for those first 8 laps before Jan discoed. It was a shame, sure it made my work easy for the champ but it looked like Jan and I might have had a 3 hour battle to the champ that could have been great.

Anyhow after that I just tried to nail laps and keep it on the road, lapped traffic was awesome today. There were times when I would get stuck behind a GT1 through the Porsche curves but it was worth it to be safe and being able to pass 3 cars on one straight makes things easier. Sprint engine and brakes made it with no problems :)

Great season with a good mix of tracks and close championship battles right down to the last race. Thanks Charles it has been a great two season with this chapter!!

Another great race at Le Mans. Not boring at all ... two of those 3 hour races at this historic track. Too bad the 10x time didn't work. That would have been something. Happy with 3rd in class and with the teamchampionship together with Kieron in LMP2. But there is something strange about the driverschampionship in LMP2. It's a well known issue, unique at R2P. Never saw it in any other competition. When two drivers are equal in points the one with the most races goes on-top. Even if the other driver has more wins. Don't get me wrong ... I salute Mike for a great result but Kieron got the same amount of points in less races and has more wins. So imho he is champion in LMP2. And ofcourse because he's my teamm8. :-))

Grats to Ryan and Steve for the wins in their classes and a very special thanks to Charles for a great series. ILMS/ALMS shall be missed in season 13.
