GT-I Pre-Season

Was having a good race until Jerry lagged in front of me while I was attempting to pass him. My car flipped over and finally landed upright but the engine wouldn't start, thus ending my race. Wasn't Jerry's fault at all, but it is the 2nd GTR2 race in a row for me where lag in one way or another kicked me in the nuts....ridiculous.

I don't have the talent or concentration that's needed. Faded like snow in the spring. Too much other stuff in my mind and drove off four times.

what a horrible track,busy in q with gt's just couldnt get clean run.got lag as we came onto start straight sorry to who ever hit me.i went o.t on the settings to keep car cool,just too much as temps didnt get up,but managed to keep the car in right direction,nw's congrats all finishers

Qual was horrible for me never felt comfortable and ran 1 second slower than my previous qual tests. So 4th on the grid.

Race I was concerned about my pace seeing Scott in the 54's in practice and of course Ari and Janko clearly faster than I. So I settled in behind Scott early and saw he was struggling with the TVR so I applied a little pressure and sure enough he started dropping a wheel here and there, eventually overdriving T1 and allowing me to get along side for the pass into T2. After that I concentrated on being consistant and found myself slowly closing on Ari. So then I started pressing and that didn't help as I started falling abck a little. So I settled back into consistancy and closed to within 1.3 when the GT cars caught us. After the first 2 went by the gap was still the same. Then I screwed up and went off slightly costing me 8 seconds :( So then I just kept trying to run a decent pace for me and with 3 to go the gap was down to 4.5 seconds when all the sudden I see Ari in the gravel, was so shocked I almost followed him in there. Last 3 laps I just cruised praying the engine doesn't blow, Janko was 38 seconds up the track and I saw no need to bother with pressing, not that I could have made any ground on him anyway.

So second place in a new car and an off day for my driving, not to bad.

That was quite an enjoyable race, full of clean driving and good competition, as far as I could tell.
I woke up this morning with a stinking head cold... could barely move without everything going black on me. Thus, my concentration wasnt quite where it needed to be, and I screwed up my best qualifying lap (which would have been good enough for 2nd in nGT), but still ended up a nice 3rd on the grid.
My lack of preparation really showed through when the race started though. I wasnt thinking straight and went out on soft tyres, which ended up being quite a big mistake. The TVR is tough enough to drive on the limit at the best of times, only made worse when you cant hold concentration for more than 5 seconds and you are running on jelly tyres!
I had a good battle with Kent then Pete for the first half of the race, eventually giving both positions up through inevitable mistakes. When I finally dropped back to 6th, and saw I had a 37 second gap back to the next car, I just put it in cruise control and coasted to the finish.
I had one run-in with Jerry Chen, which was my fault really, as I wasnt paying attention to the mirrors (another by-product of the cold) and ended up cutting infront of him. Dont think it really did any damage, so alls well that ends well!

Thanks to Tim for inviting me into race after slots opened. I had a very good qualy and race. Had one trip to the gravel but got out of it pretty fast. Other then that, no problems, though it seems that i cant get the tires to the temp. They are 60-75°C all the time.

Got tagged by Enzo coming out of last turn out of formation lap, set me back 30 sec. No prob, just wanted to do some tyre testing today, carried on by myself. Then the lag happened. :|

Conor, sorry bud, I feel terrible. no idea why it happens, but that's 2 GT-I races that's happened to me. Happened last week at Imola too. I have no idea why, my screen/sound/wheel just lock up for like 10 secs, don't think its network issue, cause I never lost connection and obviously your game "saw" my car physically. I even sat a fan right in front of the PC to make sure it wasn't a heat issue per Marc's advise. Weird thing is, I ran a lot of laps this past week, and yesterday in GTR2, offline and online. The GT3Cup race took over an hour from prac to race finish, and it didn't happen once. I'm at a loss for what's going on.

Had a fun time chasing Scott at the end as his tyres went away. Wasn't for position, but was just fun to run some laps with anyone in front of me.

Its no problem Jerry. Just an unfortunate incident and hopefully you find a fix for it :).

Kent thanks for the highlight buddy :)I purposely left that out :) Well after many Peecee issues the night b/4 and this morning with only about 30 laps of practice I wasnt expecting too much, qualy went okay, race started off much less chaotic than a F1 79 race, whooo, I tailed tommy and steve for about 10 laps than had a small off that cost me 3 seconds and from there out I was pretty much alone, came home 5th after a 1-minute 72 point maneuver with some assistance from jerry, thanks for the support if required after my front tires had only the cords left on them, I refused to pit so, the car can go the distance but the tires??? Dunno.

Until a few laps from the end everything went nicely. Then I got confused about the track layout and massively overshot a corner. I tried to spin the car around but that didn't work so I ended up losing the splitter. Even so, I managed to bring her home in third of the class.
