Intro to Extreme GT

Pointless to race against people who run on Valencia-ExtraWide.

I want to make sure everyone understands that the curbing is NOT considered the racing surface. When you put all 4 tires onto curbing, you are considered to be "off-course" and are suppose to forfeit all positions in close competition. I have been seeing some severe cases of people using both the inside and outside curbing well beyond just two tires. Because of this, I will take some time to review this replay before importing the results. Those that I see with more then just the occasional time of four-wheels-off, I will remove a lap from their results.

Please take this time to read our policies. They are there for a reason, and should not be overlooked.

Well... never should have chose the Porsche. Just wanted to see if it sucked as bad as everyone says. Severely underpowered, extreme understeer, no matter what the set up. Not even remotely similar to the other Porsches. I would have done better in an RSR than this piece of poop.

But it was my first time in the car. So maybe I should try a couple more events in it. NAHHHHH!

I'm not sure how well I managed the curbing issue, but will take what licks I have to - finished crappy again anyways. I got to get a Gt3 Porsche event under my belt. i know I'll do good, Maybe even a win.

That was a very enjoyable race after serving my drive through penalty for using ESC button in qualifying. Well I fought back from last place and it was a pleasure to chase and overtake other drivers. I've managed to get to 2nd place but I was also using curbs all the time, totally my fault as I was sure curb was a part of the track. I'll make sure to improve my reading of this rule and respect it in future races, sorry again. Still it was great racing with you guys, very fair driving from all of you.

First off I would like to apologize to one of the Ferrari’s I punted on the first turn. With cold brakes (which I should know better) the car wouldn’t stop….and I was just wishing the Ferrari would come down… but it did.

I really struggle after that. I receive a black flag. Which I assume was for putting the Ferrari. That really put me behind. I spent the next 30 minutes trying to stay online and out of peoples why. After the 30 minute mark I found my brake bias was off (too much rear brake), once I got that under control, I was able to settle down and run off some laps… Some how I finished in the top-10 after some battles with the 911 Turbo. WTG!!!!

That Ferrari punted on turn one lap one was me. Put me in last place after starting in 9th position. I probably could have had a podium this race. Oh well, I had a good time playing catch up and after half an hour found myself in 5th place. Towards the end of the race I was slowly catching the 3rd place driver, just a couple more laps and I would have been there. Somehow I got punted again on the last turn!!!

Man...I sure do have the bad luck. :(

I have to apologize to Fernando Deutsch for spinning him at the start. I ran off track trying to get around the car in front of me. When I came back on track, I moved over too far left as Fernando moved right to take his line into turn 1 and I spun him off. Sorry, Fernando. It wasn't intentional.

I'm glad there aren't anymore races at Valencia coming up soon for GTR2. The last three races I've ran here have been my sloppiest ever. I hate this track. :)

Well, my second race here at R2P didn't end any better than my first, 2 races 2 DNF's, this time the engine. With that said I still had a blast, the 575 Ferrari much more comfortable to drive than the GT3 Porshe, I was in 5th place on lap 54 when the motor let go :( I don't recall how well I did as far as riding the curbing went, I never thought much of it, though I will watch for it next time out. It was a fun race, can't wait to do it again.

Hey Steve, no problem, it was those situations when this things happen, we both move on the wrong direction at the wrong time. I almost quit from the race but decided to go through it so I make my charge as hard as I could, but did a lot, a lot of mistakes, I am quite surprised I finished 6. First time on this track. Could not build an appropriate setup as I suffered from understeer on must of the race. Actually we had some nice fights during a good number of laps, it was fun.

Gotta say a big thanks to Ari for a great race that lasted all of the first stint, then continued later after I'd made up for a lousy stop (as usual!). Of course, he was driving probably the slowest GT car, whilst I was in one of the fastest, but I'll selectively delete that from memory :-)
I really hadn't expected to run so far up, I'd had no pre-event testing, did only 2 laps in practice before downing a plateful of dinner, then returned just in time for 2 laps in qually!!! Fortunately, my setup from Brno felt really good here (better than at Brno!).

Re the two wheels on track thingy - I know it's on the rules page, but maybe it needs a nice new bold page all of it's own, just to ram the message home!
