LOL: only 4 cars finished!!!

Qual: I am a dork, I went into "stockcar mode" pulled over before 4 timed laps. DOH!

Race: I had a car capable of running with Niles. So I decided to go easy at the start and on the restarts. Shame that too many people didn't have the same ethos. I was spending a lot of time breathing on and off the throttle trying to not run into anyone. At one point I actually sling-shot past Jeff round the outside... no heroics, I was trying to avoid him lol!

In the end, it was a waste of time being careful I was taken out by an over-eager driver on lap 50.

EDIT: On watching the replay, it actually strikes me how little peripheral vision I must have had, because in fact, there were two cars inside me before I crashed, and I didn't even know they were there! I guess I was just as much to blame. Oh well, bring on the next race.

Grats to Niles on the win, Eduardo and David. rounding out the podium.

I am glad with the results for all of all the preparation I set fourth, the pre-race staging really helped get guys acquainted with the start and the cautions, that said onto the post race.

Qualy = I cannot complain with my attempt at the pole position and with (2) identical times the race series director gets the nod :)

Race = things went well, leading from the pole, my strategy was to out last my competitors but it was not to happen today. I had a few good battles and for the most part every racer out there to day displayed great sportsmanship. I have lots of work to do on my restarts, for the most part I find that the follower has the better position on restarts as jumping the starts always penalize the leader. I was also dealt an rfactor penalty but there isn't much that can be done, so I took the lump and dealt with it, that being said is where I was left in traffic, while trying to get around another car another the car in front weaved and I reacted which sent me into a spin and ended my race with my first contact, not happy with the final result, but Long Beach is next and I am happy for that.

There are a few incidents that are under review, more on that later.

3rd place!! I just tried to stay out of trouble used the Cautions to pit except late in the race had to pit under green but I survived all the crashes until about 3 laps left trying to go around a lapped car who was going slow and taking up the racing line I had to around the outside clipped a wall then hit the inside wall lost some body work and a tire but fortunatley was enough laps ahead of 4th to hold onto 3rd.

Qualifying: Screwed up and spun on my hot lap, but still managed to be 6th.

Race: Forced to check up at the start and lost a few spots. Then the car was running good. On the next restart same thing, had to check up to avoid contact. Then I was hit by someone being overzealous and that bent the car. Was doing ok, running 10th and then got hit again by someone who wasn't paying attention. Then fortunately a yellow came out and was able to pit and have a straight car again. On the next restart had to check up again and lost spots, but didn't mind as was curious to see how the car was after all the damage. It seemed ok, so I was pleased. Then a couple laps later everyone checked up, cause of a slow car. I saw it too late and hit the slower car, losing my whole nose cone and bending the car again. After another pit-stop it was time for the restart. This time I actually was able to get a good one, and went really easy into turn 1. The car was a little loose, but held it. Then going into three I decided to go in real easy, but suddenly in mid corner the rear jumped. This caused the car to move down a grove which put me onto the banking transition, and caused the car to spin. Of course that put me in the wall, and I took several people with me :(

I'm still a little confused, as my car was pushing on cold tires. All I can figure is that I may of had a broken shock, or sway bar that my pit crew didn't fix.

Wow a long race and a good turnout. Congratulations to the podium, it came down to the last pit stop for Eduardo and Niles, great job and an impressive finish. Thanks to Jeff for putting this together, it was interesting.

I was on team speak along with many others and this subject of passing is going to come up and I’m still wired from the race so here goes my two cents worth.

David I know you’re not happy with me, and I feel your pain. So dont be mad. The good news, a third place finish. But your comment couldn’t be more wrong.

The responsibility of the driver that is being passed by faster cars is simple: “DON’T CHANGE YOUR LINE! even if it’s the racing line. It’s the responsibility of the passing driver to execute the pass. It’s been preached a million times. So your comment “who was going slow and taking up the racing line” that’s your problem, evaluate the circumstance and execute a safe pass. I did what I should have, kept my line, even if it meant breathing out of the throttle so I don’t push up into the outside groove.

I was wanting to finish no matter how many laps I would go down. Sorry for slightly crashing into someone in rear under yellow was looking at HUD....I left because of that.

Ovals are tough, it isn't just about turning left, its about sportsmanship and focus, and a few racers have been notified of their driving, with that said I know the racing is only going to improve.

The gent who won the race, that has a gazillion laps under his belt, actually expressed how competitive this field was from 1st to 20th, and so much he said it was far more competitive than his own series on another server.

We are doing many things here right, my goal is to make this THE series, to race, and we are well on our way.

Lastly, it pained me to see the no-shows, if you register for an event and fail to show up when other racers are on the waiting list is just plain inconsiderate, last I checked there were four on the waiting list and 5-racers didn't show up, life happens, but please, This isn't very cool, as more racers WANT to be in this series daily. Give guys a chance ASAP you know you wont make the show.

I had a ball while it lasted.
On the third restart someone pulled a kamakazi move on the inside of me and couldnt make the next turn and ploughed into the wall, bounced off and took me with him. Not happy, but thats what you get when racing so close on the ovals.
I didnt have the pace of the top few guys, but i was running with boost at 4 and still able to keep up with guys running in 4th and 5th at the time.
Will be interesting racing at LongBeach next time. I kind of wish there was another oval or two in this championship.

hey anthony you were 11 laps down and had a blue flag you were also not holding a line (moving about)it looked like you were going to stay high then you stayed low and let off the throttle which closed the gap very quickly I had to take evasive action to avoid you..............................If you would of held your line and not got out of the throttle all would of been fine........when I was being lapped I held a high line and let Niles thru...

I understand it's up to me to make the pass but when the guy being passed does odd things it makes things dificult
