2.4 Hours of Nordschleife

I can't believe I forgot to check what the kind of start it was! Last time it was a rolling start but that was the nordy with the GP circuit.

I had a good start and in the first 3-4 laps I found myself in 10th having taken a couple. It felt so good on the back straight, especially when your passin folk :)

I made a small error (somewhere in second half?) and ran onto the verge allowing Bob to get past. I was chasing Bob down again and I felt good and then it happened - Disco!

I never have disco's! - well this will be the second since I have been at R2P! feckin wonderful...

Do you know I'm really pissed about this race. I do believe I had the pace to be at least in the top ten...why is it every time a show a little consistency, shit happens outside my control!

I`m so pissed right now. I set my pit options for the race and the damn game still did not give me fuel. What the fuck do you have to do to get fuel in this stupid game when you make a pit stop? I like this game alot but that just blows. I guess I`ll just have to stick to public server, three lap races because that just sucks.

Fckin stupid game.

Set presets so fuel & tyres #1 and drive thru #2. Requested pit half way around final lap before stop and for some damn reason the preset defaulted to 'drive thru' and i couldn't change it. Got into pit lane hoping i change there but couldn't so had to manually change fuel from 0L to 80L. Kept my finger on button to manually increase fuel which took forever and after 30secs or so the pit board disappeared. Got it back but it no longer had 'confirm' at the bottom it now had 'pit request' and that was that. With only 5L left i didn't have enough to get round again. Checked before i left server and my presets were correct as i set them.

I wasn't going to do this race as i hate this track but i was at a loose end so at the last minute decided to do it, What a waste of freakin time.

I too have had trouble with pitting in this game. I've experienced the "I don't care if you scream till you are blue in the face I'm still not giving you fuel" issue too.

This time, I think I did myself in. I had a lengthy stop fiddling with the pit options. No preperation left me short on fuel so I had to manually change. Why can't pit options be like rfactor? Back on track, I was thinking about the botched stop and whacked the wall screwing up my aero. My crew insisted I pit at this point (i denied them 3 times).

Running 3rd with 8 or so laps to go, my engine expired. Ryan probably would have caught me anyways. Don't know if it was the damage or the lack of air intake. I think the temps were only at 212F so at that temp I shouldn't have had a problem.

Oh well. I enjoyed the drive.

Heh, i had just made it from last to almost catching 3rd befor i crashed with like prolly 30 min. left......I am a Idiot.

Ran out of fuel mod-lap, but preset's f**ked up anyway.

I was also a victim of fuel presets.

I had my pit board up during the main straight, getting fuel and tyres set and selected, I hit enter, push the button to request a stop, dive into the pits after the straight, stop where I was supposed, to, switch off the engine aaaand... nothing. No fuel, no tires, no communication from my pit guys...

What a terrible flaw.

Was having a steady race. My car lost a lot of performance towards the end, i lost about 20mph off my top speed and was understeering like mad. I thought this was due to hitting the barriers a few times but with 3 or 4 laps left my engine blew. I was maybe a bit hard on the downshifts.

Dan, sorry about the punt. I was waiting for a good place to pass and ended up tapping you on the exit of the corner :S

Same issue here...1 lap to go I go to pits to make a "Splash & Go", but it only changed tires and NO fuel, so I had to go around with just enough fuel in 2 & 3rd. gear, letting it go on the downhills in neutral and barely made it to the finish...Damn mechanics! :P

Whew, I'm beat! Can't believe I made it to the end. Surprised I didnt trash the car, especially at the end with the smell of great cooking coming from the kitchen. Add the fact that this was the 1st time I've ever raced here, and finished with a top 10 after starting from the back, not a bad day.
