Intro to German Touring Car

Man that sucked! My screen and sound froze. Couldn't alt-tab but was able to use the windows key and reboot the system. Started 13th, lost 4 spots at the start, but made those back plus 3 more and was 10th by lap 2 before my rig beltched. ARGH!

OK, look. If you're in the middle of a big pack on the first lap and you go off into the grass (especially with cold tires), DON'T try to merge back with the traffic. Just sit and play it cool and pick a SAFE TIME to get back onto the track. You're going to lose a few positions but at least you can keep racing.

Someone did this on the opening lap, tried to keep going, gunned it and ended up spinning onto the track. The result can be seen in the photo over there.

Not mad, just disappointed.

I've never driven the M3 before but qualy'd 10th, was 5th after the first corner shunt. I got bumped going into turn 2 and then pushed off at the exit to 3. Ran around in 9th until the first pit stop. After the pits stops I'm still in 9th. Larry A was slowly catching me and was on my tail when we both pitted together for our 2nd stops. He came out ahead of me in 9th. I ran behind him trying to force a mistake all the way to the last lap when I got loose going up the hill to the start/finish. I finished in 10th. Good race!

Qual'd 14th, got a good start and moved up a couple of places by T1. I survived T1, but unfortunately got into the back of Garret at T2 (very sorry about that...I got in a bit too hot and just barely locked up the fronts and couldn't turn down...of course I didn't do it on purpose, but I was surprised at how much Garret's car was affected by what I expected to be a VERY slight tap).

A few laps later, I was moving up on Edgar when he got sideways in a right-hander, and I had nowhere to go. We got together, but were both able to continue (didn't mean to do that, Edgar; sorry).

So after 2 impacts (at least one of which was completely my fault), I was able to run clean the remainder of the race, although apparenly I've got auto-pit on, which caused a slight bit of mayhem on pit road. Dennis got by me at the second stop, and I spent the rest of the race SLOWLY reeling him in, until I was able to get around when he went just a bit wide in a left-hander (I don't remember which turn) with a lap and a half remaining. If he hadn't gotten wide, I doubt I would have made it past.

Overall, I really enjoyed the race (sorry again for the contact), and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Was a fun race......for a while.

Got pretty well settled in behind Darin for 5th or 6th through the better part of the first two stints. Had some good racing with Bobby and Randy, trying to keep them behind me! Was doing just that in fact, until some time after my second stop. Had made a couple of laps to gain back 5th while waiting for everyone's pit to cycle when Bobby started to apply some real good pressure. Great stuff man. That was a blast.....

......but like I said before, for a while. hehe. Just then -in the middle of our battle -my audio locks-up!! Holy annoying sounds Batman! Over and over again! rev,rev,rev,rev,.........crap!!!....Whipped the headphones to the floor...and watched Bobby slide by IN SILENCE! LOL. (at least I didn't go off track!) I was so distracted by not having any sound for the last 4 laps or so that I kept over-revving and missing shifts. Consequently, Randy eventually caught up and got by me too. Drat!

That's the second time this has happened to me. And if I'm not mistaken...it was here last time too! Try driving around with sound in an endless loop!....it sucks! haha.

There's always next time I guess..... Man! you guys are fast!

Not too many finishers for a large grid? What happened to you all? I experienced a great deal of lag through the first couple of laps too? Was really bad. Drove right through Darin's car about four times! Glad he was never in it!

Lot's of fun. Luck is still with me as I missed the turn one carnage.

One racing incident with Dean at the pit entrance. We had just swapped positions a couple times and I was behind him going into the last turn. I had no idea he was going to pit and tapped him as he slowed down. I watched in the rear view and saw him turn in but then lost the view. I assume he made it okay.

Use the turn signal next time Dean. LOL!!!!!!!

I tried a strategy where I changed fronts and rears at halfway (on separate stops, of course). It worked, sort of, since I just got ahead of Claus after his second stop. My tires were worn by then and he easily got ahead again. Perhaps my strategy wasn't that great after all as I also got stuck behind Dean for a lap when he had one stop to go. Also on another occasion Michael Kim was within inches of hitting me after going off and coming across the track at a very low speed for some reason.

Anyway, I wasn't hit from behind this time so it's kind of an exception in my recent races.

I don't need to go review the replay to remind those individuals on how to re-enter a track once you go off-course, do I?

Got into this event in the nick of time, qual had alrdy started, so I just went out on racesetup with low fuel, prob was I got into lot of traffic and since I knew I was probably invisible to them due to late join I didn't want to risk anything. Last lap I got a good one going finally but was late, session ended when going uphill towards last turn so P3 on the grid.

Got a good start tho and could squeeze inside Ari down to T1, managed to gap 6-8s before first stop. Just changed all 4 tires at both stops since Brno is pretty tuff on tires.
had about 50s before last stop around L16, knew it would take around 46-47s to get out again in lead, unfortunately as I was just to leave another car pulled in to his spot just in front, thought I could make it around him but wasnt able to and stalled the engine, had to back up and get goin again, cost 10s on the clock and got out a few secs behind Ari.
Fernando was leading but it looked like his tires were bit over expiry date so Ari and I got by after Fernando goin wide. After we passed I got on Aris tail and he choose the combatline down to T9, got another run up to T10 again and this time I was inside so had to commit the move, got the car a bit sideways braking hard, looks like I brushed Aris car in the process too nothing too serious.
After that I could bring the car home pretty safely.

Very fun race for me. I had a bad qualification session, as when coming to pits to try a second stint I crashed and could not move from the kitty litter.

Started from 6 and was passed by Randy at T1 as at the same time a car got out. Laps later was able to pass Randy and was heading to catch Dean. Took me a while to pass him as on a first try I almost spun him out. After the pass I got a very good race trim, have a good pit stop and was know cathing Darin, after passing him I had a clear track so was able to do some quick laps, unfortunately I stayed to much time out and my tires were in very bad shape, I lost a lot of time on that last lap, as Claus explained. After pits I was about 10 seconds behind Darin but there were not enough laps left to be close enough to him.
