All I can say is i'm sorry, Eric. There's nothing will make that any better. That just sucked. I really thought I could get that tub of guts going before you got there. I'm really sorry.

Re-joining the track after a spin
No driver may rejoin the track until all traffic has passed and your car is facing the exact racing direction. Any accidents caused by a driver using the racing surface as a place to make a U-turn is strongly frowned upon.

Almost all of these DNF's are related to the disregard of the above policy

No worries David. I went to pits to get new front wing, and BLAM, disco. So I was on borrowed time anyway. Wasn't meant to be. Was some fun racing.

Had some great clean laps after a bad qualie where I lost wing from going off on cold tires. From 16th to 6th by lap 12 or so, but then I spun descending the 'screw and did not reenter the race properly, got 'da boot. That was a first but I'm impressed with the rule enforcement and learned frm this one for sure. (I did a "P.Tracy" thinking I had room to re-enter but It did not go so well..) Very Sorry to who I took out, I'm hesitant to view replay, ugly deal.

Well, I was happy with qual as I snuck a high 19 in just before the end after some serious trouble early on.

Got a good start but Kirill got a bit better one so I jumped onto his gearbox and headed off. Well 2nd or 3rd time heading into the Screw I blew it and did the long lazy drift off to the right, fortunately not doing much damage and got back on cleanly, but in 10th or so.

Started my charge through the pack and for the most part everyone took themselves out in front of me Fish being the last as he spun on the curb exiting 3. Found myself in 2nd then and about 12 sec behind Kirill, with Fishy charging hard behind me. After a couple laps his charge ended in the Screw and I found myself with a 20 sec gap behind and 11 or so in front and thought I would just settle in and take 2nd.

After a couple laps though it was clear Kirill was loosing a lot of time so I put my head down and took chase. Was not long till he was in sight and after about a lap at less than a second behind him he apparently did a wicked brake check on me going into 11. I checked the replay and his speed just before impact was about 15-25kph slower than on any of the other 10 laps I viewed so I'm pretty confident it was a brake check. This caused me to smack him pretty hard, spin and stall, but somehow not loosing any parts. It did however put me another 10 seconds down and I was able to get back to within 1.5 seconds of him in the remaining 5 laps, but needed 1 more lap to get by. I'm sure had I caught him he would have found a way to hold the position, as this is the 2nd time he has pulled a stunt like this, the first being a huge block move at Bugatti. Not good :(

Anyway had to settle for 2nd despite clearly being the class of the field but I clearly fared much better than some other "victims" of poor driving.

Bad race overall for me. Started off on the wrong foot by practicing the night before on the WRONG track! Damn. Had to download proper one to get in the race. hehe. Luckily my set-up wasn't too far off, and I found a little pace just before qually.
Start went well and I found myself in 5th only a couple laps in. But it all went south from there. Had a nasty spin with a little wall-contact to boot, which bent up my car pretty badly. While limping to pits, I caught a bit of kerbing with my hobbled car and almost took someone out. Not sure who it was, but I apologize, we didn't have contact, but I'll bet it scared the bejesus out of ya!
After my repairs were made(kinda), I re-joined in last place and a lap down. With plenty of laps left and a fairly bent racecar, I decided to just floor it and see how far up the field I could claw. If I'm already last there's nothing to lose. Haha
Thanks to attrition and some kind driving from back-runners, I was actually closing back in on Larry in 5th again near the end. But then I made another slip-up and spun just as I had caught him. Oh well, still a reasonable finish for smashing my car into a wall I suppose!

Laguna Seca being what it is, I was expecting a lot of mishaps as it has a way of sneaking up on you when you're not paying attention and making you pay the price. I had a pretty good and stable setup so I figured I would just play it cool and concentrate on making no mistakes. With this expectation in my head, I figured I would skip qualifying and start in the ass back of the field (after seeing quite a few mishaps on the monitor in the qualifying session, I was confident that it was a fair decision).

Only not-so-good mistake was coming up on someone too quickly into the Corkscrew; I had to mash the brakes and veer off into the sand on the left, bumping the wall (luckily, only superficial damage). Other than running a bit wide trying to catch dudes in front of me, I just played off everyone else's mishaps and eventually found myself from last position in the grid to 4th. Larry Anderson was behind me and losing about a second a lap while Barry Blocker was in front pulling away at about a second a lap, so I just settled in and waited for the checkered flag.
