Congratulations Garret and the podium!

My first race in this series and I think my first in the BMW. I'm not particularly ashamed of my performance but I'm not overly excited about it either. I would've done better had I not pushed too hard into a corner and got in the kitty litter. Then later someone else did the same but drove back on track in front of me and cost me a position that I'd much rather lose on my own.

Oh yea, I made my first ever "in race" pitstop and it actually went as planned!

Well,my no stop strategy was working fine with a possible 5th when i was punted into a sandtrap,game over,no chance after that.

Today I decided to give the day off to my mechanics and not to enter pits. I had to conserve my tires as much as I can. The result was not bad and I gain 7 positions after half of the race and finished on top 10. I am not fast, but today I was constant and my beemer ran almost perfect for me with good and fried tires. :)

Same as Hugo, no stop and tires pretty bad at end. Never got hit but still learning and intimidated somewhat, went off course twice cuz giving room to passer and ran out of room. My fault, i have button on wheel to look back and when i get nervous i look... dont want to hold someone up if they are faster, well i look back and look forward again and i'm headed off track,lol. I had a real good race other then that and real good fun.

LOL,i use the mirror, but sometimes can't tell how far back they are. I know, i was told i should unprogram the button. Concentrate in front of me. Sometimes bad habit's are hard to get rid of. Next race no button!!!

I was very pleased with 3rd in quali and with teamm8 John on 2nd. The start was fine and we both cleared T1 safely. During the long run over the airstrip Garret got his Porsche beside me on the inside and then moved to the left to make the turn. We touched which upset both our cars and we both went off. Big difference was, Garret was on the grass and kept his position, but I dropped back to 18th after a trip through the kittylitter. :-( We have discussed this incident by email already and both decided it on being a race-incident. So they do happen at R2P Jan. :-) After that I worked my way up through the field. Passing Barry Kennedy took me a lot of time. Great racing there Barry. Sorry to read you got punted out. There was no way I could have done this on one set of tires so I pitted about halfway. Almost caught Brian at the end but had to settle for 7th in the end. Well done Garret on a good win with a daring strategy and also to my teamm8's Steve and John. Three UK-NL's in the top 7 is a great result.

The tires didn't hold up in the BMW. 15 laps they were over 30 worn so no way I could have done a full race on them.
Pitted mid-race and hoped for the best. Got second and I am very pleased with that. Porsche ate the tires only half as much in Anderstorp.

I had a decent qualy squeezing out 4th for the start. The start was gentle with everyone holding their line in and around T1. I got a launch out of T1 down the air strip legging it out at the end to get along George heading down into T2. I started easing over to get a better line into T2 when GP and I touched. It was a somewhat light touch augmented by GTR2's collison/netcode. It sent me off into the inside grass and George into the outside litter.

I came out of the grass on track and pointing in the right direction and motored on. I was gutted that I was involved in taking someone, esp. a long time racing friend, out. We've discussed it and put it to rest.

I knew that Anderstorp was tough on tires and had planned all along to stop near midway to change tires. After having a very nice battle with John for 2nd, I maintained a 7s gap to Cristi who was in the lead. I had originally though that we would only go 30 laps but figured about 15mins in that we'd go 31. I only had enough fuel for 30 laps.

I went into conservation mode on fuel and surprising maintained my 7s gap to Cristi. Saving fuel saved my tires so I now had the option of no stopping the race. I figured Cristi was on a no-stopper as well as we were running identical lap times. To my surprise, he pulled in to pit for tires. I noticed that there was a gaggle of other cars that were not pitting as well putting Cristi and John well back in the field while I had a 30s gap to 2nd.

I just cruised to the end from there with the car behaving quite nice for having shot tires.

I believe i was warping badly during race, sorry to anyone who was affected by this :(

Interesting race, i for one missed the boat in the car choice dept, i just assumed BMW was the car of choice-doh!
Had done some testing before race and was completely satisfied there was ZERO chance of being able to do the whole race without new tyres in the BMW, but looking at some comments some ppl did managed to but for the life of me i really dont know how! My tyres were shot to bits after 15 laps.

Pitted in 5th position at the end of lap 15, done what i thought was a decent stop and came out behind Kim who hadnt stopped. I was faster as i had new rubber but i just could find away passed. Eventually i got a chance and took it. I knew George was catching but passing Kim gave me a breather for a few laps until George got passed Kim. My last couple of laps were messy which allowed George to get close but unfortunately for George i was warping and i assume that put any attempt at getting too close.
