Monaco Grand Prix

Sorry guys. I couldn't compete. I wasn't able to use my own computer (again), because I wasn't home. The computer that tried to race from, made FPS max. 5. Then I noticed I can still make some video settings to lower level, but after that FPS was again 5. So that was the end. I couldn't race/ drive at all :(

I didn't practice much for this, about 10-15 laps today prior the race, there wasn't any need as I know Monaco, and know how FTarget behaves.

Qualifying:
There was 1:34 to be found, but I ran into traffic, clipped a wall and decided to Esc, not like I could've challenged for pole anyway.

Race:
My race was going pretty good, mistake free. Then in lap 10 Stuart spun (right hander after "Grand Hotel" hairpin), he was 2 seconds ahead at that time, I started braking and stopped right in front of his side. I waited couple of seconds for him to start the car and move it, but that didn't happen and I got rear ended unfortunately.

That was disappointing and I struggled to keep focus after that.

Later made a small mistake coming into "Piscine", running too close to the wall on the left and scraped it with a rear left. Entered pits to repair that.

Ran pretty hard after that, nothing more to loose.

I am glad this race was not any longer than 45 minutes!

Qualifying: Very disappointing time, getting me a 7th place.

Race: I took it very easy, and did not push the car very hard during the entire race. I was unsure if the tires would hold up, and I did not trust myself to stay off the walls for 24 laps unless I drove conservatively. I had some good luck avoiding stopped cars and also people moved over nicely when necessary. When I finished the race I only had .5 liters left in the tank! I started with a full tank, so that was a little scary, I actually short shifted the last couple of laps. I am guessing that Stuart ran out of gas? It was a fun race, but after it was over, I long for a wide open track. :)

I was very very easy on car and tyres, trying to avoid any contacts or wrong lines, just pushing 8/10 and being focused on fuel usage, gear changes and gaps. Btw was a proof of focus, race here is always tough!

Ryan I finished with 6 lit of fuel!

You drove well and consistent Roberto, luck is just a tiny piece in racing, especially around track as tight as Monaco.

Indeed, congratulations on the win Roberto, great driving. I thought that I refueled before the race, but apparently I did not. I hope to make the next round as well, since my weekday Netkar series got no interest.

It all got off to a perfect start, Pole position and got away well.

I managed to keep a workable gap between myself and Enis, so i didn't have to drive at 100%, but then i inexplicably span it and stalled it, i went for the mouse to restart the engine, got in a bit of a mess and decided too late to quit to the pits, by which time Enis had been hit. I'm really sorry about that. I made a split second decision to try and restart the car and it was the wrong decision.

All concentration went out of the window by that point and i made a right mess of the rest of the race.

Really disappointing when i should have won that.

About starting a car, "Backspace" is a shortcut to start it after you've stalled. It's in te manual, p.27.
