rFBMW: Laguna Seca

Congrats to Eduardo and Pedro and Canton (I think that was the order...)anyway to the top 3!

I was a bit desapointed with my qual time because I was almost a second slower than my pb...which put me back in 14th place at the start.

But I had a good start and took a couple of position before first turn. I had a little side bump with Steve Taylor but I reviewed the replay and it seemed fair to me, for both of us! If Steve doesn't have the same reading of the incident, then I apologize to him. But I really think it was clean but strong racing...

After that, I made a couple of good pass in the next 2 or 3 laps, one of which was against my team boss! I did realize that when I reviewed the replay cause I didn't put the names on the cars at the begginning of the race, what I usually do! It was a clean pass also, so I shouldn't be reprimanded!

Then, there was a couple of drivers who made mistakes and gave us the chance to pass them. I was then P6. And after a few uneventfull laps came Mr Gomes, with whom I had a good fight! We passed each other a couple of time, but he got me at the end!

I found quite a nice pace in qualy, i believe i got myself 9th place, with a new PB i was quite happy with.

Come the race, i made a great start and cleanly got myself up to 6th position. By the end of lap one i had got all the way up to 4th, and had a small but comfortable gap behind me.

A few laps in i was right on the back of the person in 3rd place coming into T1, all i had to do was take it easy and keep it clean, we had about 14 more laps to go. But instead, i stupidly decided to be a hero and spun myself out.

Right in the middle of the track, i ended up getting tagged by 3 or 4 drivers. I sincerely apologize to anyone who hit me, if i ruined your race i am very, very sorry.

I was now down in 14th, and was battling with a gaggle of 3 drivers. It was a great little battle, and when the guy in 11th spun off the 2 remainging ahead of me opened a little gap.

Then the red mkst hit me, i cancelled my scheduled stop to repair the damage, and went John Rambo. I quickly closed the gap, and sat on the tail of the 2 drivers. Then coming into the hairpin at the last corner, i made a very late braking move to take 12th place. I pulled it off, but i don't think it was very sportsman like, even if it wasn't strictly legal.

I can only imagine that from the person i had overtaken's view, a car just apeared next to them as they began to turn in. It was not a polite move by all means, so i do apologize.

He was soon on the counter aattack, and coming into the dreaded corkscrew i completely cooked it. My front wheels locked up as the front got light, and i went straigght on into the barrier.

I made my way to the pits, but it would have been stupid to go on any firther. I esced out and let everyone else do their thing. I aplogize to anyones race i may have affected.

In the end i got what was coming to me. All i had to do was chill, and be happy that i had made it up to 4th. Instead i threw it all away and got a DNF. I learn't a valuble lesson from today, in my future races i will know better what to do.

I had lots of fun. Congrats to Eduardo for the win. Last few laps I caught up with the boss man Charles but didn't have a chance to pass.

I played with fire.... and I didn't get burned. My internet connection has been very spotty during the last few days.

Qual: Disco'd during a hotlap. Not a good sign. Was able to lay down a decent lap that kept me in the top 10.

Race: Contemplated even racing because of my connection. But thought, what the hey, it's just a game. Need to try to get some team points since it is so close.

Richie shot out of the gates like a Tomahawk cruise missile. Gained a few spots after turn 2. Dodged a few spinning cars and Johnny reeled me in at the end to apply some pressure. The whole time I was more concerned about staying connected than my actual finishing spot. Whew....

Nice job Pedro. Good to see my teamie Canton back.

I am happy with the results but not with my race .

In qualy unhaply i was involved in a incident that forced me to run always with traffic but at least i got the third place.In race the only thing good that i did was the start when i got the second place and holded until the end .My race pace wasnt good at all ...not even close with what i was doing before thats why the frustration right now ...so E.prado was able to run free with no pression ...and in the last lap i almost gave my position to Caton ....he finish behind me just because when i gone to the sand i prayed for all saints that i know againt him :D XD...hope better performance in the next race .Cgts the Brazil Power Team AND Critical Mach II team....cgts Prado 4 the championship and Hodges to host it and provide for us a great fun.

I am still not sure what wing settings to use here. My car was really unstable...I just did not have the time to find a set that suited me, although the race itself was fun.

Quali: I found traffic on my first runs, but then managed a reasonable lap which was niot too fas off my best laps in praccy and started 12th

Race: Off the line, a vehicle in front of me was slow in getting away. I could not find a safe way passed and that gave Sylvain the jump on me. The pass was tight but fair, Sylvain. I got a little unsettled and lost places ending up 15th at the end of the lap. I had a good battle with Brian, and we passed each other a number of times.

The cars are very equal and the racing is tight. I stand to be corrected but I think that this was the most incident free race in this series...Lets take a collective pat on the back...well done guys.

Not much to say.

I trashed a front row start and a very competitive pace (2nd best lap) by crashing by myself.

Sorry Pedro for the incident on Qualy. (already did it by PM also.)

I suck in these cars, but had fun anyway. Hope to figure out the speed secret for any 2010 races...

I had a good race and a satisfactory finish.

I was quite surprised with my lap times in practice.
It was nice to see my name up there at the top with the elite.

It didn’t last long…

During qualifying I got nervous and spun out. I was disappointed with my grid position and I knew I could have done better.

The race was very exciting to say the least.
Mark was in my mirrors way too much. I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. My hands were so wet with sweat I could barely hold on to the wheel.
You made for a very exiting race Mark, and I thank you for running clean. I hope you can say the same about my driving.
