Well, everyone was so gentlemen at T1 and I was the only asswhole of the day and ruined Sam's race. Sorry Sam.
I am always very careful at the starts, but I was so happy when I jumped from 7th to 2nd that I missed the apex. I just tapped him, but it was enough to make him spun.
Did my DT penalty, but in the whole race I was thinking this incident. I didn't enjoy the race at all. I'm still thinking of it..

TAR-rant-tar-rer-rar!

I thought I would miss qualifying, and practice, as I didnt want to give the game away :).... Nah not really, I had my trackfile in the wrong folder so the server wouldn't let me in. I didnt get a chance to warm up so I was very cautious from the start. I had a couple of freezes early on which has not happened before, I think I shouldn't have installed SoftTH.

Half way point and it was working out well (p10) and a little later came my first opportunity to overtake, I dived down the inside like the rookie I am, he turned in and my nose was in the wrong place. After that I kept it clean although I saw in the replay I squeezed Sam Moss, causing him some difficulty. Magic skills by him to stay on the track (Sorry, apologies from me). Later I got hit by someone myself, I may have braked a tad early but whoever it was was not that close.

That'd be me in the pic avoiding you on the inside (the very left). You went in too hot, spun, I collected your front slightly, but we both managed to carry on. No biggie, but my nerves were already thin after Barney continued to close up (then later, Boyd).

Well done Jan on a runaway win! Although I nearly made it back right at the end ... it was soooooo close.
Also well done to Kieron for taking third spot on the podium.

Shame about Barney. Foxy definitely had the legs on me, but then after my pitstops Barney vanished. Where'd you go Barney? Disco? A real pity regardless.

Pull off in these cars is always a lottery. Made it without too much incident, but unfortunately Sam in front of me tangled with another driver, but I got past safely and there I was in second behind Barney. Down the back straight though Jan simply demolished me on top speed. Must have had nitrous in that car ... :)

Ran first stint in third watching Jan and Barney get away, while Sam and I had some fun, but he was a lap down.

Then came the pitstops. What an idiot I am. Coming outta the pits I hit the ignition button instead of the pit lane speed limiter .... bwaaaah buuuuh glug. WTF!!! I thought my engine had expired. NOOOOOOO!!!!! I lost a couple of seconds there, but I doubt it woulda made a difference. Jan was just too quick.
The back markers made it interesting (in a good way), allowing me to make up some time to Jan. And on the last 2 laps I went from 2 sec's back to 0.4 coming through the very last turn onto the straight. Jan bobbled a little, and I gave it horns, but it just wasn't enough. Maybe another couple of laps might have made a difference. Might. Yeah yeah, dream on Boyd. Finished nose to tail. Great race Jan!!!!! Or have I already said that?

Hell, that was fun! I'm super chuffed with second, in a classy field. Well done everyone!!!! Hoooweeeee... (sounds of stokedness)

Actually I was in the green car, when I watched the replay, I emerged heroically from the smoke in slow motion, hence the title. Congrats on the win :)

Boyd; that was a surprise pace you had. I really had to keep my concentration peaking the entire race. As you said, I made a small bobble comming out of the last turn as tires was getting just a little too hot from over-aggressive driving. Good thing we didnt have to do another lap, phew :)

The straight bit can be contributed to my low wing settings. Nothing more.

So, 8th in the end I think it was, after being left nowhere to go early on, slowly worked back through with damage but could not set practice pace.

Took a couple of places via the pit stops as I went in a little earlier than planned due to being behind a train of cars, then span off in avoidance later.

Well done to Jan, and Boyd in your first race with us (?)

Rattlesnake Point will be a little different to this!

Despite not being around cars very often, I had fun.
Got a good start and avoided the first corner mess to move up to fourth. Got passed by some people as I fell into my normal pace, but tried to conserve the tyres. After my pitstop, Spyros was bearing down on me, so I was pushing extremely hard to try and keep him behind me. When he finally caught me, I spun off!

Just cruised to the end in fifth after that.

Very enjoyable :)
Hadn't done much running prior to this, not just on the track but with the Mod as well, about 15 laps in total. So wasn't surprised to qualify 18th.
Despite a slow start, as Dan infront bogged down, I still made it as high as 9th on lap 1 to my surprise.
Kind of spent the first stint in a never-ending battle around positions 10-13th with guys like Dan, Mike, Nick etc (at one time it felt me and Dan were just swapping positions from running wide every lap or so lol). Saw Nick pit in my mirrors and after my stop wasnt surprised to see him 6secs up the road, until he went for a spin through the kitty-litter, so had a good battle trying to hold Rob back, but he beat me in the end by a couple of secs. very happy to wind up 7th overall :) It'll probably be all down hill for me from here though knowing my recent luck lol.
