Panoz: Mosport

OK, I'll go first.
Well done Jan, Barney and Joao. (Jan for blistering lap times, and Barney for laps that kept getting faster - on a no stop strategy! Yikes, them tyres must have been slippery towards the end...)

I was surprised at the pace that everyone had here. And there I was thinking 1:17 wasn't too bad, until I saw the other times. I hadn't had a lot of time to play with setups, so I basically used Charade setup with a few tweaks.

Qualified 7th. But the race was when it got interesting! Off the line there was a little argy-bargy, but that's because it was so narrow and short. Bumped and got bumped, no worries. As is the norm, Jan fooked off into the distance after a fight with Joao, leaving a 5 car train with me and Nick,Kieron, Spyros and Joao. It was an awesome fight, (I watched from the back), but mainly of attrition, casting aside Nick and Kieron and Spyros. Was catching Joao but had to pit.

Came out in 6th, and was happy to eventually make it back to 4th. For the last few laps I was behind Caner who was doing a great job, when on the penultimate lap he slowed down dramatically. I assumed fuel since I had the same crisis. Caner spun gifting me 4th, but I finished with 0 (that's zero) litres fuel on the gauge when I crossed the line.

Great race again guys! These cars and drivers are wicked fun.

Really great race, although my finishing position was a little disappointing.

Got away well from the line and managed to pass Sam M on the run down to T1. He got his own back on the way up to T2 though and re passed me. Had Nick (the Boss) Pillips close behind me then for the next few laps, and I had to go defensive a few time to stay ahead. Boyd B latched on to Nicks rear later though which gave me some breathing room.

Spyros was the car ahead of me and I had a sneaky suspicion that he was going to do a no stopper, so I needed to get past. He was still flying though and it took a load of laps and a couple of failed attempts but In the end I just managed to squeeze through. That fight with Spyros was awesome fun though and I loved every seconds of it. Nice one Spyros.

My stop was now around 5 laps away and Joao was the next car ahead in 2nd. I managed to close the gap up after a few laps and I got a good run down the back straight. Got along side although on the outside line, but I broke as late as I dared and hopped I'd managed to squeeze round the outside. It turned out I had far too much confidence in my tyres though and I ended up under steering off through the sand trap and in the wall.

Luckily the engine was still running and I only came away with a few dented panel and a flat left front. I was also only a lap away from my stop so I was able to pit one lap sooner. Stop went quicker than I thought it would but I knew I'd blown a good finish.

Rejoined right behind Nick P and again I had some great fun trying to find away round. Eventually I did and moved up to 6th. Boyd was next up the road but by about 8 seconds so i figured 6th was all I could get, which it was.

Grats to Jan on the win and also the Drivers championship. Well deserved as you pretty dominated. grats to barney and Joao for 3rd. And thanks again to Spyros and Nick for some memorable racing. :).

I arrived just before qually I was 1.5 secs of pole so I waas worried and ended p10 but I stuck with it got me some fuel on a did not know if it would make it all the way to the end never tried it last time and I was disco'd in the first race lol

Race well first corner fell off I managed to keep it out of the wall so no damage set off after the pack that was going a way fast soon got up to a normal pace had a scary moment when going for a pass on Matija Skalic he clearly did not see me on his out side as he almost drove me of the track but at the next coner he made life easy when he outbraked himself just got my head down and was stunned to find I was in 1st place then I tried to keep a good gap between myself Jan but he soon caught up only put a small fight up with by that time with used tyres no match

and yes Boyd 2 red bars at the end getting worried 6L of fuel at the end too :)

Miles of the pace, and started loosing concentration. Decided to leave so i never caused hastle with others.

Qualy went better than I expected, 1:15's was not on my list of things to do :)

Crap start and got jumped by Joao. Drove aggressively to try and retake the position. Worked on stressing Joao as much as possible to force into a mistake, but it never really happened. Finally got a run of T6 and passed him in T7/8/9 and finally got some clear track. Didnt pull away as much as I wanted due to overheating front tires from the battle, so had to slow down a teanie bit to try and get them cooled down. Took quite a few laps, but eventually they did and car got better from then on.
Was worried that the majority of the field was no-stopping, but to my surprise, only Barney (of the front runners) did.
His pace caught me by surprise, and with 10 mins to go, I still had not found a way past. Eventually did the same thing as I did to Joao by passing in T7/8/9 with some nice side by side action. From then on it was just a matter of keeping the pace going and not make mistakes.
Happy to retake the championship, allows me to relax and enjoy the last race in a more relaxed manner :)

started very nice, full tank and little harder tyres but
managed to keep up with the pack. now read that most did
even pitstop.... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
eniveis, someone came from pits to front of me and started
to lose control on one of those fast lefties and as
it was downhill and me on outside allready, all i could do
is evade and well grass it went. then my car took a quantum
leap ;P. ended up between congrete wall and fence.
i was determined to continue so figured that there must
be a gap somewhere :D well there wasnt. my space between
wall and fence got narrower and narrower and finally i got
stuck. i felt silly and humiliated and i went to watch
tv :D
1st ever panoz drive for me but i did expect little more out
of it ;)
