VVC - Hockenheim

Sorry I had to bail mid-race. I had a minor pet emergency, same thing as last night when I was afk while being helped to the finish. He is on some heavy medication (much like Kent) and was whining (again...) and howling, so I had to go check on him.

In hind site i guess I could have pulled into my pit stall and then rejoined, but I didn't think of it until too late.

Lap 1 T1 I got punted from behind making me a passenger. I don't know how many I hit as result (at least Sir Pete) but I'm sorry, nothing I could do.

Limped back to pits and spun three or four times on the way and spent 99 seconds at repairs. After that car was a second slower. Whole race was exactly what I spent this week practicing for. Way to go.

LOL...Didn't realise I got hit - screen stuttered, then I was facing the wrong way!!!
My internet connection today has been absolute shit, disco'd 3 times in GTL races, then many times here I thought I was a goner. Close racing was tough, cars jumping side to side. Sorry to Don for a punt (and yes, I waited!) and to Tommy Gunn for a slightly enthusiastic pass. Don't think there was any contact, though.
All in all, a day to forget :-(

Was close to Kent in qual, but he just got the pole. But i was happy with 2nd since i did my fastest lap with vette here so far.

After my poor start Kent and Claus i think pulled away but they just touched in end of T1 resulting in a spin and other ones slowdown. I saw taht i had faster pace then Tolga, so i was just preserving tires, knowing that behind me there will be a battle for 2nd and therefore some loss of pace for the ones behind. By the time CJ got past Tolga i had a nice 7sec advantage with around 15laps to go. My tires were still working OK and i just paced myself so that at the end i finished 4sec infront of CJ.

Blue flag guys were great and i had no problem what so ever with lapping them.

So was uneventfull race for me, but win is a win. Ofcorse it would be a different story without that T1 racing accidant.

Well not the race I was hoping for. Managed to snag pole and got a decent start. I was my usualy careful self in T1 and well a little too careful and Claus just nudged me sending me into a spin. I remembered to hit the clutch and was pleased that it was still running, at least I wouldn't totally lose touch. Then poor Ari had nowhere to go with me sitting half blocking the track and WHAAMO I got hit and spun around a couple times. Sorry Ari :(

I rejoined last and was quickly handed a couple spots. By the time I got the the front straight I was up to 18th I think and right behind Tommy C in his Viper. I wanted to be close to add a little pressure to his T1 and I totally drove right through my brake zone and plowed right into him :( Man that was conehead and I really feel like an idiot. Again sorry Tommy. After hitting Tommy I pulled to the side and waited while the rest of the running cars passed me but I never saw Tommy. Figuring he must of hit the wall I continued. Now I am 22nd and have a really tall order ahead of me. I made some nice passes and was handed positions until with 15 to go I am now running 12th or 13th. And through attrition ahead I am up to 11th and right on the bumper of Mueller and 8th an 9th are just ahead. I had Mueller a couple times but couldn't make the pass stick. Finally I made mistake in T2 braking and spun out almost taking Meuller with me. Lost 6 seconds and made that up in 2 laps, now I am behind him again and this time when I passed he gave me the position. Finally I had another change to get someone and we contacted in the final turns, he went sideways so I gave it a little gas to straighten him out and well that was basically the way it ended cause I never got close enough after that.

didnt prep for this at all, infact this was the 1st time ive fired up gtr2 since the last vvc at brno so i wasnt expecting much.

got q18 and made a good start headin into t1 and then i was just dodging cars, even into T2 i had to duck and dive but found myself in 12th a lap later david came off the track and got 11th. lap after david to hes place back after a mistake from myself.

was having a nice race with 3-4 cars intil lost another place to [ill edit later 1] who was all over the track on the approach to the complex i went around the outside of him slowly and [ill edit later 2] went thru the inside.

as we went into the complex we had 4 car close together 1 of which still didnt have full control so some1 was bound to get tapped (and it was me) dont worry about it tommy gunn <3

then finished in 15th or summing had to pit as i went out with soft soft :D

Apologies Johan I tapped you in T1.

But I had a real hard time controlling the car due to the fact I was jumping all over the place, about 10 meters each time and this was happening several times a lap.

I dont know if it was my PC or the internet?

In the end I just had to take myself out of the race.

So Im sorry to everyone that got caught up in the carnage but Im none to pleased myself I practiced for a week too!

It was a bit crowded in T1 so I had to move a little to the inside on the exit. Then I notice a car (Kent) going sideways and smack into him before I can do anything but try to jerk the wheel left. Busted aero, splitter, suspension and a flat tire (and missing rear wing from another car hitting me in the aftermath). I made it to the pits very slowly for a lengthy stop. I rejoined two laps down, just behind Nuno and Tolga. They were having a fight and I wasn't about to do anything to bother them. Next there was some trouble with a backmarker, they all slowed down a lot more for a corner and partially due to the lag I couldn't do anything before tapping Tolga around. I still kept going but a few laps later I was coming out of T1 when I got squeezed hard by a car rejoining the track from the left side. I couldn't move any more to the right, so we touched and went both into the tire wall. I got so much damage again that I wasn't in the mood to keep going any further.

Chris, from my POV it's just a racing incident, no problem.

I love driving this Vette. Especially with the use of the soundpack. Well ... enough said about the start of this one. Again sorry to Mark for the tap in T2. Looking at the replay it seems the cars in front of us also touched so you got kind of sandwiched. After that I was back in my qualipostion (9th) having a rather uneventfull race. Got up to 6th after a few laps and got 5th in the end cos Robert blew his engine on the s/f straight. Grats on the win Janko.
