Brno 330k (G2/G3)

Well, that was a load of BS!!!!!! I break my balls trying to get there on time for the race...get in with 5 mins of qual left, then get CTD when "race Stewart" comes in and then it goes to race, and I'm locked out.

I'll never understand why GTR/ISI games suck so much in that respect.

Dunno why at the moment, and thought it was only rfactor, but get spells where for 5 seconds or so game goes to picture mode and freezes on me, then carries on fine.
By that time tonight Jerry had got back past me (great battle with you BTW) and a Beamer had planted itself up my behind with nowhere to go.
Sorry whoever that was had no chance to sort it out, tried to get to infield but obviously did not manage it.
Gonna be short on fuel anyway, really need to practice GTR2 pit stops.
Good fun chucking the porka around though.

What you're describing sounds like what used to happen to me in GTR2 and GTL for the past couple months. The screen would completely freeze, but I would still be connected to the server. My car would just sit dead still on the track, and people would be able to hit me. (happened offline too) 5-10 sec later, i'd be able to drive again.

I diagnosed it to a dieing power supply. It finally died last month, and i replaced it with a new PSU, and hasn't happened since. Including a 2 hr at Magny. So you might want to look into that. It might not be dieing, might just be not powerful enough to give your graphics card/cpu enough juice.

WTF was i thinking,senility has set in.Originally planned on 1 pitstop,then decided for some unknown reason to do 2.If i had thought to notice what was happening as the race progressed,i might have been able to do something about it.I leave the pits after my 2nd stop and Then notice there is only about 6mins left to run.Doh.

Well, I was lucky to get a win in G3 today.

Car handled great in practice and qualifying. I then tried to gamble a bit and tried soft fronts. It handled great in the first few laps but on like lap 8, the tires just fell off right into turn 1 and I went off in the gravel. This allowed Garrett to get around me and for the next few laps, he pulled away because my tires were just gone and I had nothing for him. So I quickly went in, got med/meds, came out, and once the cycle went through, I came out in the lead :). From then on, I just cruised.

Great race all, especially Garrett....way to hang in there :).

Lee,about the Vertigo,it does say in the series info that it is excluded.

I signed up for this race jut before the start after not being able to practice for my GT/NGT race at Brno. I have plenty of miles under my hat with BMW here at Brno so I decided to give it a go.

There's not much to say about the race really. I was in the lead from start to finish with no pressure from behind so I was not pushing 100% trying to preserve the car which felt great. Medium tyres were spot on with "tyres warn" signal just as I was heading for my first and final pit stop.

Nice racing from all competitors, server was fine as well.

Brno is a bogey track for me, i just dont seem to get it. Happy with 3rd. Qualfied 2nd but Majtaz was simply too fast to think about staying with and Barry was too quick from behind me. Knowing how hard it is to pass here I concentrated on keeping it fast and clean. Unfortunately I made a mistake out of the last turn giving Barry a run at me into t1 and he made it stick. He pulled away progressively and had a 3 second lead as we pitted. After the pits I thought I might have a chance of getting back at him and bit into his lead over me, but he responded well and I gave up the chase, concentrated on bringing it home. In the last few laps I made a big mistake and lost 10 seconds in a spin. Luckly I had a big enough lead over 4th place to resume and take my third.

Congrates to Majtaz for the win, and Barry for 2nd place and a nice fight.

Dean and me only had a little bit of practice before the race and didn't really get to work on a setup too much but we figured what we had was going to work for us.

Qualyfied in 3rd place. Because the ambient temp was only 57 F* I decided to go with soft fronts and medium rears. It was obvious Matjaz had alot wheel time here in the beemer and obvious he made it as he led flag to flag and my battle was for 2nd place with John Dixon. With a rolling start onto the front straitaway I stayed right on Johns bumper for quite a few laps with a couple of attemps at passing him but I couldn't quite get enough nose up beside him to complete the pass. I finally got a run on him out of the last turn and going into T1 I managed to stay underneth him to complete the pass and held 2nd coming up to our pitstops.

At the halfway point it was time to pit. This is where I get nervous because I seem to lose many races in the pits. I still had 5 gal. of fuelleft and didn't want the extra weight so I quickly move the arrow to fuel and drop 4 gals. off of fuel and check tire wear, suprised that the fronts were only at 17 and rears were at 12 I decided to stay with the soft fronts and hit enter. To my suprise I had a pit stop 3 sec. faster than John and out we go. With no hope of catching Matjaz I held on for 2nd place and with Dean finishing 5th Team CanAm finishes with another pair of G2 top 5's.
