Intro to Formula-3 (Sprint)

Ha. Tried a new setup and wasn't really used to its quirks. On the opening lap I took turn 2 in one lower gear than I was used to and looped it carelessly. After that, I spent a few laps doing the catch-up routine, but blew turn 1 coming off the oval. Rather nice crash.

Well that sucks, came home just in time to miss the start of the feature race by a minute.

Started 2nd and finished 4th. I had a 4th place car but maybe could have been 2nd but my spikey pedal pots caused me a spin in front of Shakleton who raced me hard and clean all night long.

I'll get some good wheels pedals so I can just drive normal.

My evening had a few bumps in the feature race but I was satisfied with my race in the sprint. Our team was just looking to make good solid consistent laps, stay out of trouble and finish the race. We managed a top 10 and were not unhappy with it. I had a lot of fun. Thanks for the racing all!

Turn-1, lap-1 of both of these races were amazing! You guys were going in there 3 and 4 wide, but no a single car touched? Conor and I were Stewards and we both had our cameras fixed on T1 just waiting for cars to go flying... we were both floored at the level of performance by everyone.

Even at the starting grid... a standing start on a banked surface? Not one car spun or hit anything... great job guys!

Absolutely agree with you. Top-notch performance from everyone who participated in both series in NOT causing a massive, race-disruptive wreck that ruins a lot of racers' day. Very patient, very calm, and very smart driving from everyone. :)

This race was huge fun! Started 13th but botched the start...sorry to the guys behind me...I was waiting for the buzzer counting down the red lights but I never heard it...suddenly the lights were green and I'm sitting in neutral! Everyone missed me thankfully so I set off in pursuit. I was able to gain a few places on track then about 4 or 5 more due to a big collection of cars off at the exit of T1 on lap 2 or 3. I think that put me about 7th. After that I was racing with Larry, Eric, Tom P and Jerry for most of the race. I'd gain a spot, then go off and give it back. The last few laps were great fun with Jerry (great fun racing with you there Jerry :) and Larry...apologies to Larry for the contact on the last lap. My inexperience showed. I was tucked into Larry's draft entering the banking for the last time and as the gap closed I pulled out to pass when suddenly the car feels like an airplane about to take off!! It turned left on me in a hurry! and tapped Larry's car, luckily fairly square and he kept it straight...I think the contact was the only thing that prevented me from spinning through the grass. Anyway, I was still very close to Larry's car so I tried again..stupid cause the same thing happened! Lucky again Larry kept control and we crossed the line very close in time but with me sideways this time. What a ride!

Having won the feature race I was forced to start in 8th for the sprint race (inverted start). I just hoped to keep it clean and stay out of trouble and hopefully pick my way up a few spots before the 13 laps were up.

The start was a blast, but I bogged it bad off the line. Lost two spots right there! Managed to grab another spot or two in the infield on the first lap and was lucky enough to draft past two folks on the banking (see the 3 wide photo).

I gradually worked my way up to third. I drafted past Shane for 2nd and settled in behind Stanislav. I had a good draft but he was weaving on the straights to break it. I noticed he was letting the smoke out of his tires into the corners so I knew he was pushing hard. Knowing passing on the straights was going to be tough, I just focused on staying close to hopefully capitalize on a mistake....or get a good draft on the banking.

Stanislav went too hot in the long right hander and went off (again, see pics) and I inherited the lead. Couldn't believe it, but I'd worked my way back into the lead. I love that little blue bottle in my trunk! LOL!

Seriously, though, my hat's off to this group. That was some extremely considerate, safe driving I saw tonight. Congrats to all!

Sorry to anyone that had their race ruined by me... Race started and I noticed that the ff wasn't working right(sometimes happens in rF, but first time with this wheel), I got to 8th in first lap so I thought I might be able to just sit there and pick a few spots. Trying to keep from spinning a guy I lost it going into turn one and ended up collecting a few... Sorry, just so wierd without FF.

That was fun. I spun it big time on the left hand kink that goes downhill after the apex. I got two wheels on the rumble strip at it went around 3 or 4 times. Miraculously I didn`t hit anything and no one hit me so I kept going. Out of the very last corner I was a sitting duck for Mike and I was down low to at least force him around the high side but as he mentioned he tapped me instead. I had to set up for max grip just to be able to hold the track and I was way too slow 4 the oval section.These cars and the competition you guys provide is intense. I hope soon I can finish a race in these cars without spinning, but I`m starting to wonder.
