2-hours of Lienz

If there was ever a track that said "...don't bother wasting a week practicing for me..." This would be the one.

I love wasting all that practice on nothing.

Cant wait for the next track ... ANY track ...

Disregard...a colossal waste of time...

well that was crap.quali was a mess and someone broke stupidly early infront of me which forced me into the wall. and then a proton hit me and killed my engine so i had to start from the back.
in the race i was back where all the drivers who cant seem to brake within 100m of when they should. and that knocked me into the barrier and then a proton hit me (sounds fermilier) and gave me heap lods of damage. after the huge amount of understeer force me off the cliff. i didnt feel like driving for much longer.
i love the rule in quali about no esc but it really doesnt work on a track like lienz and a multi class field. one of the fastest in all 2 of the 3 classes were taken out by it, and one of the fastest in the 3rd class was taken out by people who had this problem. in a multi class field i think they should go behind the slowest person in that class if they get the same sort of luck as us.
please please please run another one like this. so some of us can have a second chance. It was so much fun in practice and for the little bit of fresh air (without any stupidly slow ZR's or protons) i got it was great.

Connection lost... second time in a row!!! I checked my internet connection and it was alive, I just lost connection with the server. This is getting a bit annoying. :(

The exposed end of the guardrails did me in. First tore my nose off and gave me suspension damage. Rammed into it while trying to pass a slower Proton. Makes me wish I was more aggressive and would just bully my goddamn way into the inside of turns instead of being so passive and patient. I give way to faster cars regardless of if I'm in the same class or not because I know all I'm doing is being a damn roadblock. Why can't others?

The second guardrail I hit a few laps later straight up killed my engine.

What a fucking disappointment. Took the pole, too. Had an awesome chance at outright winning this damn race... not something that happens often as I'm a mid-field runner, so the bitter taste of loss is all the more intense.

I suppose I should be thankful it happened this early in the race. I'm not sure what I would've done to my computer in anger had I spent the majority of the race only to have it ended near the end.

Fun while it lasted these cars break it a glimpse maybe 100% damage was a bit to optimistic for Lienz.
Still enjoyed myself.

Smashed wall on first lap... Engine quit... I Quit race...

I was mostly frustrated by the " gotta get by in this corner, or else " attitude from a few GP1 and ZR guys...My intention was to take it a little easy for a lap and let it shake out and I was hounded the whole way up and whole way down the mountain...I flashed to let the 2 by and lo and behold they balk me huge going into the town forcing me into a spin to avoid punting them...While I appreciate we are racing, a little patience on lap 1 in a 2 hour race at Lienz may have been in order...I want to thank those 2 guys for tearing up my car which ultimately led to me understeering straight into a hay bale...Fortunately they were both okay and managed to continue unscathed...

I got a bollocksing for just touching a car at Georgia and vowed to contain my aggression so it didn't happen again. I was so courteous in qualifying that I ruined at least 2 flying laps.

It seems that some need to be in front regardless of the circumstances and that is okay on pickup server. A single file start was used to eliminate mayhem and it may have worked if we all had given each other a least a lap to sort ourselves out.

I knew my race would end in tears when I saw that I out qualified a few GP1 cars and we all know that poor qualifiers tend to get so much better when driving in traffic and against cars they should have no trouble being 5 seconds a lap quicker than.

I really feel that some of the Proton and GP1 drivers need to realize that while I may not be able to beat Dmitry I am rarely more than 1 second off his pace which would have put me on the front row of the Proton grid. I don't profess to be in the upper echelon of sim-racers but I do know that I am always aware of who is around me and I drive accordingly.

I have seen Scott's results and know that had he practiced more he would have been on pole and it frustrated me no end to see he needed to get by me immediately and being aware of this I flashed him by in the best possible place. I certainly don't blame him for trying to get up front but the manner really made me angry. I don't mean to single him out but this needs saying without flaming anyone. You can't win a race on the first lap but you can easily lose one.

I just can't see myself running anymore of these 2 hour races if the same drivers insist on doing the same things.

What I really love is all the questions about fuel, time, pit entrance and exit and all the rest that appear with 45 seconds to go. I realize this event was only posted 10 minutes before qualifying started but really guys, try reading a rule or two or maybe even do a lap to solve these questions.

Running 2nd in class / 7th overall for most of the race. I messed up my 2nd pitstop and lost 10 seconds to Allen, but I still was 2nd /7th.

Just after 25 minutes to go I catched up to Allen to just 4 seconds when my brakes locked up at the fast lefthander in sector 1. Smashed the wall, killed my engine, end of story....

Great racing by all of you. Some more patience by the Proton guys wouldn't do any harm though. Overtaking in an aggressive manner and #$%îng up the corner after is not the way....

I especially had some fun with Allen when I was breathing down his neck for 6 laps or so, until finally he had to let me through when he went wide at one of the hairpins. When we switched I couldn't handle the pressure and had to let him through. Great driving buddy!

Richard, why do you think I wanted to pass you so urgently?
1) This is a race
2) You where so slow off the start that you where backing me into a group of guys I really didnt want to be with.

You can't just go into a race, qualify on pole, and expect to just hang out for a couple of laps and expect people to patiently sit behind you until you get your arse in gear. If you want to do that, start from the pitlane.

Anyway...
The race was totally crazy, I think because most people dont really know how to drive an enduro. Controlled agression is the key, making sure you drive within yourself. I didnt do a great job of that today, but I did well enough and got away with the win. Hopefully this track can remain on the calendar for as many seasons as this series runs, because its a great test of true endurance if you ask me.

Thanks to Lars for a great setup, Scott Juliano for an amazing track, and Tim for having the balls to choose it, and of course most of the competitors for a nice race. Maybe I'll come back to this series if another challenging track appears on the schedule :)

PS: How comes my TC rank has dropped after this race? It doesnt count my overall finish or something, does it?
