3rd. DNF...Due to Lost Connection ...argghh !

Looking at the championship I am gutted I did not make it to the first race or would be up there.

Anyhoo tonight was not particularly brilliant, my PC does not like this place and the FPS was pretty awful through the stadium but dealt with it ok.

Settled into 6th and waited to see if Dave Fish was gonna have any trouble, closed from 40 to 7 seconds by the end, so nearly did it but not quite.

Couple of close calls with other classes but pretty good conduct all round from what I experienced.

Those Russian boys are quick though! Thought Kirill was going to take himself out as he kept seeming to lose time early on but no such luck :-]

Grats to the class winners.

very hard race for me , to many mistakes , and only thinking in my mind was just finish ...

p.s. dont eat SO MUCH before racing ...

On lap 2 my connection decided it wanted to slow down all of a sudden... I went off track. Waited for the ZR cars to clear then spent the next hour chasing them down and getting around them. Sorry Tommy for the close call about the hour mark, I thought it would stick but it did not :(. After clearing the ZR cars settle in trying to chase Rick who was ahead of me in class. Then made second stop and continued to try and catch Rick. About two laps after stop while braking for final turn got run into the back of by proton and had to make an extra stop for a new rear wing. With the pits stop Rick pulled away and at one point had put a lap down, but with a spin on the last lap i got the lap back. In the closing laps had fun racing with Yury almost got him at the line. Better luck next time i guess.

Am in a much better mindset today, have to say congratulations to Chris for the ZR class win. With the absence of Tim and Connor it was our big shot, if it wasn't me then I'm glad it was you.

A real heartbreaker to lead for 90 minutes, an unfortunate confluence of circumstances both on track and real life led to the destruction of my 14 sec lead. I really let it get to me and ruined the rest of my night. Had to walk away.

Really wish I could have battled it out door-to-door with ya at the end, and with a car that steered straight.

Looks like I got my first lap record though. Yay :|

I had no idea on how to setup G1 Howstons, neither on the strategy...So i tried to drive flatout for 2 hours, with the aim to chase the first of my class and model my strategy on his.
It was a good battle with Tom, I made no or maybe few errors (one heart-attack error trying to lap Christian on ZR i think you didn't see me in mirrors). So i tried to be gentle on tires and do longer stints than Tom, and push hard on the chase to make pressure.
A nice race, maybe not the best track, i hope to race the next one!

Fun race.

Qualified P2 in the Howston class and got a good start. Stayed within about 2 seconds of Tom in the early laps, and was able to hold off Roberto for the first 8 or so. Roberto finally got by me, and I was able to stay within about 10 seconds of Roberto and Tom for the first stint. But, after the first pit, they stretched out from me while running some 2:08s and 2:09s to my 2:11s to 2:13s. We all slowed through the stint as the tires wore, but I was unable to keep pace.

Nevertheless, I kept in on the track and only had one "agricultural" moment IIRC. Finished about 1:20 or so off of the Roberto and Tom to score a P3 in class, and a P10 overall, plus on the lead Howston lap. Not quite on the winner's pace, but at least I was able to get the darned car to turn!!

Looking forward to the next one.
