2-hours of Florio

Somebody managed to spin his Proton in the oval part at Lap 1 ie. 500 metres after race started, fellow Howston driver hit him and I had nowhere to go and hit them both. Dove into pits for repairs but suspension was damaged and made car difficult to drive. Should have ESCed on the spot.

I believe I caused Mr Worby's ZR crash at main straight where we were three wide - I hit protruding piece of wall which I saw too late to brake, hit Mr Massa's Howston, I believe, resulting in Mr Worby's crash and DNF. I'm sorry.

Generally speaking I wish that Protons will never be seen on the face of the earth again after this season.

The some people should learn to drive... no comments.I am very afflicted.

well darn. i was having a lot of fun in a car i never drive. i was fighting for last place with t barnes when i went into the 90 before the oval and i just locked up and went straight into the fence. no fault of anyone else, it seemed like i blew a tire maybe. something went wonky for sure. but that left me with a dead motor, no way to get home.

i was running fair after having to pit once already when i spun and knocked off my rear wing. bummer to end like that.

i still had fun, though those grey cars are kinda hard to see coming up behind sometimes. they blend in with the road texture very stealthily.

i look forward to the next 2 hr race.

I just plain forgot to brake for the corner before the banking. The car pretty much exploded.

Johan, considering this is only your second race in rfwc, and the first you had no post written, why should Protons disappear just on the basis of one mistake?

Anyhow fancied doing alright after qual in third, but knew (especially after a fine chinese meal, red wine and whiskey) that the oval would jump up and bite me and so it did.

Sixth at worst and one place minimum better off in the championship, shame tonight coincided with a fine days weather and drinking.

Apologies to those who I may have got a little close to on the way past, the above may explain why, but pissed that I was pissed.

Nick, it's not the one mistake, just sum of different things.

IMHO there are some drivers driving Protons that seem to have great difficulties in controlling them or judging traffic. Protons have a huge speed difference even against Howstons which makes it very difficult for others to stay on top of things as one second the mirror is empty, next second there's a Proton filling it. Also them being so quiet makes them difficult to notice.

Perhaps Protons should/could have a spec series of their own in the future?

I have to say, the Protons were pretty difficult to set up for this track. They aren't stable at all with the rear wing at minimum. I had to use the '2' setting. Also had to run stiff springs and raise the ridehight to keep the suspension from bottoming on the banking.

Well,I for one love driving the protons.I think they are as much fun to drive as anything else we run on r2p. I was going along fine in solid second with 19 minutes to go when someone in the Masters hit a big put and it took my concentration off of racing. I missed the left hander leading to the oval section and before I realized it I was DQ`d.I really should turn the tv off when racing but what can I say,I like golf.

Well that was eventfull, I got hit in T1 L1 by the flying proton, couldnt avoid it as it span, destroyed my front splitter and left front suspension. That said, except for the slow left handers the car seemed ok so I decided to try to get to first stop before repairing. I was losing 1 to 2 Secs a lap to Richard but was holding my own against the rest of the GP1 field, got to first stop and damage was semi repaired. But even with the repair I couldnt get into the 208s and I'd also noticed my fuel calc was short. 2nd stop filled it up to 100 ltrs and set off to hold my 2nd place, then just sat and watched the clock, couldnt catch Richard as he was long gone. 2 mins to go and I have 8 ltrs left so no probs. Over the line with the clock run out and 1 lap to go apparently, cold sweat appears on brow as I see I.m at 3 ltrs. Car ran out of juice as I came off the oval. Big thanks to Richard for the push although I think I may have crossed the line eventually....lol Thanks mate, appreciated. Great racing as usual, no probs with any1 although I wish Dmitry would turn his lights on a little earlier as his car is real hard to see coming up behind. Also gave Aubrey a scare for which I apologise, was trying to work out fuel Aubrey and didnt see you coming until the last second, fortunately no contact but close.

Ermm very tough race for me. I practiced in wrong track LOL, i thought it was sebring for some reason and when i checked r2p to get the password for the race i saw that it was florio and i have never been there. I entered the server with no practice and used the standard setup. I thought if i drive consistantly i would get a top 3. Actually it worked in the early race and i got 3rd place. But while entering the pits with my lack of experince here i locked the tyres, spinned and hit the barrier. I entered the pits after this and they didnt fix it. I didnt lose much stability but my top speed gone. I was 20kph far from my early top speed and i was losing time in pits too much. But i was gaining against Allen in other parts of the track. I closed the gap to 1 sec then after some1 lapped both of us i lost concentration for a while, spinned and crased the barrier again. This crash was tough and lost balance of the car. I was going to pits, but without balance i lost control in the oval part again, spinned and rolled there a bit. I survived and could go to the pits. It took 35 secs to repair it but i saw that rfactor damage not like gtr2. In gtr2 when u pit they fix everything. But i lost like 30-35 kph my top speed and i was just cruising around at this point. Ben could pass me in straight easily last 7-8 laps and i settled in 5th i think.
