Intro to Extreme nGT

Qualy would've been better if the session hadn't ended 3/4 of the way through my best lap, would've been in 15 or so on grid, ended up 19th. The start was good for me, got on the gas right away and blew through quite a few slower starters, then between turns 2 and 3 the car didn't stop turning, and spun out. I ended up loosing all the places I gained. then on lap two coming out of the chicane the car again did not stop turning, the rear-end just kept going around, spun again. Then after picking up a couple places, on lap 3 once more, this time on turn 6, and I hit the wall. At that point I just hit escape and quit out. I've always had a great dislike (hate) for the Porka, any Porka. AND it sounds awful compared to every other car. Last time I drive a Porka. Oh well, so it goes.

Well , that kind of sucked.. ' Lost Connection ' while in 1 minute lead and 9 mins to go... :S

Prolly the storms that have been hitting scandinavia are messing with the internet connections :O .

Wow what a fun race. I've never liked any of the porshe's but thought I'd give the RSR a shot. After finding a comfort zone some how or other I managed to qualify 6th. Starts have not been nice to me and this one was no exception, after getting banged around considerably the first few turns or so I quickly found myself in lucky 13th. The rest of the race was clean and the races back in the pack were a lot of fun to be a part of. I was so focused for the majority of the race that I had no idea what position I was in. When I did look again I seen I was 6th, I started thinking of how I gotta mention in the Post-race report how many times I've finished 6th and what does a guy gotta to to break into the top 5, when low and behold with a turn or two to go I pass a sideways porshe, yeehaw!! 5th. Sorry whoever that was ..but thanks ;)
Was a blast as always, can't wait to go again.

What a race that was for me. Was doing great in Qualifying and had the pole for a brief time. But Sam took that away from me, and I could not get another lap in to recaptuire it do to some wrecked traffic in turn 2 and slow traffic near the chicayn in the last part of the track.

I thought I was going to give Sam a run for his money. Held on to it and almost overtook him at the chicayne, then almost in turn 1. It wasnt long before I made a slip and lost valuable time, increasing the ever-expanding gap between me and mr. Krueger.

My car got loose cause I drove it a little too hard and it wasn't long before I was enjoying the screechy, nagging suck of FERRARI intakes at my rear. I hope they enjoyed my extremely dirty air until they were able to pass me by.

I waited too long to pit and lost valuable time, and probably should have taken meds in the rear. I was somewhere in the teens by the time I started to gain ground after entering the track again. Had a real gret run with Michael Kolar and enjoyed battling for 5th with I don't remember who....sorry friend.. you were awesome.

Yup, you guessed it. It was in the last lap...I was going for broke and almost aquired 4th position from another Porsche who managed to hold me off for 3 laps. Just after the chicayne - I had it in my grasp- and, just before the final left-hander......SCREECH, SWISH!!!! Spun that dirty little ^%@*(@) around. Not enough fuel or tire to hold ground. Ended up in 8th. (YES,,,That WAS me in the final turns damit)

Was pleased with most of my performance, but I think I could have gotten a podium for sure if my pit stategy were a little better. Could have avoided a couple off's.

Thanks for a great, great race guys. That was the most fun I have had in a race to date.

Whew, that was a workout :)

Qualy was a bit of an obstacle course tonight. I got in a mostly clean lap though and ended up 11th which was more or less where I belonged.

Battled early with Shane in his TVR. I definitely had a braking advantage in my Porsche, but the TVR would power away from me on every exit. Finally got a good run and outbraked him on the short straight, but went too deep to hold the inside and slid on out- fortunately Shane was patient and passed me back without incident. I think his tires started to go away pretty quickly after that, and eventually he went wide and I got by.

I followed Gregg Mulgrew for the next 20 minutes at least- at times it was like there was a tow-rope between the two cars, we were quite evenly matched. Sometimes I'd bobble and lose him for 1/2 lap, sometimes he'd bobble in the chicane where I couldn't take advantage of it, but neither of us could get a clear edge. Finally right around halfway he slid wide and got to follow me for a couple of laps- I think his tires were pretty used up and I was starting to lose him when it came time to pit.

I think I may have pitted a lap earlier than I planned- my crew told me next lap, and I took that to mean next time by. I took fronts only and hoped my rears would hold out.

The next 15 mins were mostly uneventful- I had good gaps once the pit cycles were over, and was content to follow J Severns around, who was down a lap but running a good pace. Caught a glimpse of Bryce once when he spun, but I was so freaked out by it that I nearly spun myself, and let him get away. Also had a near miss when Sam disco'ed, I came up the hill and found his car stopped halfway through the tight left hander- bummer Sam, you were running away with it.

I got another fuel warning and had a feeling it was still early. I kept hoping each lap that I was going to see the checkered flag, and it didn't come... for 3 laps! Meanwhile Don Hibner was closing the gap fast. After the 2nd time by the line with no checker, I started frantically cycling my motec to find the time remaining, and it was like 30 seconds. I prayed the leader would hit the line before me so I didn't need another lap, but no such luck. Don was plainly in my mirrors now but I was forced to shortshift if I had any chance to make it. I did that for the whole last lap. Fortunately Don's tires were done- I could see him smoking 'em in my mirror, and finally he looped coming out of the chicane. I dropped into 6th and prayed I wouldn't need a push :) Ended up 4th for my first top-five at NASA.

Lots of fun all, going to be a great series. Congrats to the podium, and thanks to NASA for hosting!

As of late, I got another poor start and lost a few postitions at the start. Then on the second lap, I made a retarded attempt at a late braking pass into T1 and went skidding straight off the track. As I tried to pull myself from the gravel, the whole field went streaming by. Now in last place, I managed to fight my way back through the field to 10th place at the midpoint of the race.

I was feeling good that I had made up quite a few positions and was preparing to make a pit stop. As I pulled into the pits, it appeared that my pit crew was servicing another car in my stall. What the F#%*! So, I missed my stop and essentially gave myself a drive through penalty (doh!). After pitting the next lap, I'm back down to P18 and can only salvage a couple more positions before the end of the race.

Needless to say, I have since fired my pit crew and am looking for replacements. Please send references. Thanks.

Ryan ...if you happen to have that happen again just pull up behind it and lightly nudge the other car forward alittle bit, just enough that it will bring up your pit board and your good to go.

Wow, what a race!!! It was my best showing here at Nasa. Since I have hooked up my ebay find momo red logitech wheel to my ecci gt6000 pedals, my times keep getting better and better!!!! I swear I am about 2 sec faster all around.
I qual'd in 5th place. It was a great clean start up front. By 3rd lap, I was in 3rd and slowly losing time to the leaders. I was hoping they would make a mistake, but we know how that goes... I ran 35-36 minutes on medium tires before I pitted. I came out of the pits in 8th and with in a few laps, was back up to 3rd. 4th place was gaining on me, i'm a horrible mirror watcher. But as soon as he got on my bumper, he disappeared??? Did you slide off or lose connection? After that, 2nd place was 26 secs up on me, so i put it into cruise control for the remaing 5 mins of the race and came home 3rd.

Thanks to all for a clean race. It was exciting for me for sure! Due to a car stopped on track between T1 and T2 (which I couldn't avoid) I had to "ESC" back to the pits in qualifying. I never did a hot lap and wasn't allowed to rejoin qualifying after using ESC. Starting 20th made for a challenging race and I didn't want to ruin anyones race by being too aggressive trying to work my way up. Things didn't look too good when I went a lap down to Dean after my pit stop, but I was hoping to make up a lot of time when he pitted. Like last weeks race Dean got in and out of the pits in a hurry. I think he was 15 sec up on me with about 15 min. to go. I was closing about 2 seconds a lap so I thought his tires maybe toast. I caught and passed Dean with just about 3 min. left and was then able to hold on to the end.
Sorry for Samuel's disco, it was his race all the way. Great run Bryce and Mike and a good showing for NASRL!
