Intro to rF World Challenge

Well, I got ran over during Qual's in the last turn during my hot lap and was punted into the tires. Had to esc.

Got ran over by the same bloke 1 lap in--a bit of suspension damage or something--tried to continue racing but the car just didn't feel the same. Finally stuffed it into a wall--display showed I was pretty beat up--just quit out.

Thanks for trying to remedy the situation, Tim--I appreciate it....

I kicked at start to the race. My connection presents lag and very much latency. Sorry for the moment. When Itry at the track, the other cars were in the mountain.

IMHO Protos should have lights on ALL the time. They are so silent and stealthy that when you look in the mirror there's nobody there and next second they are up your taipipe. Bathurst is a bit tricky track to have so huge speed differences but it all got better the further we got into race.

All in all it was quite OK race. :)

These results may take a few days to import. We have not yet implemented the multi-class racing for rFactor and since this is our first race of this format, we got a bit of work to do.

this event is for other track. Le mans or Daytona, nuburbring long.....

First race with rFactor and first win. I just love this cars and can't wait for more races with this excellent mod. I could drive for 12 hours and would still enjoy it. :D

Nice qualify run for me without any traffic so I just managed to get myself a pole. Flying start was a nice change from the stressful standing starts we have in GTR2. I needed a few laps to find a good rhythm but I couldn't make a major gap towards the second place guy.

I couldn't believe how fast I began lapping slower cars and this must have been the reason for a near collision with one of them and a small spin from me which was enough to lose my lead. I then followed and cought up with the leader. He made a small mistake clipping the grass at high speed which resulted in a spin so I managed to regain the lead but was nearly punted off as he tried to spin his car in the right direction just as I was passing by. After that I got a huge lead... he must have gone into the pits.

I then began to calculate my fuel strategy so I was constantly switching my LCD mode and familiarizing myself with informations it offers... very impressive stuff compared to GTR2 I must say. I saw most of the field began to pit so I followed as well and after returning to the track I still had a nice lead.

Second stint was without major drama, just trying to stay away from the walls and not attacking 100%. I had to be very careful and patient when lapping slower cars. Really huge difference in speed but all drivers were just fantastic when it came to overtaking them.

I did my 2nd stop 30 minutes before the finish and put about 70 liters of fuel just to be on the safe side. Last stint was again quiet but then came my only mistake when lapping Pete Young. Don't know how but I was sure he is slowing down before the esses so I braked late and in the last moment realized he doesn't see me at all and it was to late for me to stop so we collided. I'm really sorry Pete! I was hoping he will survive without major damage but he lost his rear spoiler and had to pit because of that. I also did a drive through penalty cos I felt it was my fault. I managed to lap him a couple of times without any problems and then came this bad moment. I had a huge gap over a minute towards 2nd place guy so I had all the time in the world to pass him safely. As I've said he seemed very slow and I was sure he is slowing down to let me pass before the esses like he did before. Bad judgment from me so again my apologies to Pete.

The rest was just making sure I don't crash and listening to the engine to make sure it doesn't make any strange noises. It was amazing to observe how shadows kept changing as the sun was beginning to set. I tried switching the lights on but didn't felt right for me as I was lightening my braking points. I need more practice with this really nice feature from rFactor so I kept switching on my lights when I was about to lap someone and then switching them off again. Great race, superbly organized and nice behaviors from all drivers. Can't wait for another race with this mod!

Blimey that was hard work!

Spent most of the time racing the clock against other people, but as said before very much a rhythm track and really enjoyed chucking the Proton round for the first time in anger.

Happy with third and hope to run this series when it begins.

Some scary moments with lapping but I guess that will be improved with experience for everyone, tended to get caught out more when the slower cars tried to make way, rather than following the rules of letting the faster car make it way past.

That said it was a tricky track on top of the mountain to get past.

Good work Matjaz and will throw a rope to you next time, saying that having to pit second lap for damage did not help!!

I picked up third early when Nick spun or something, but looped it on the final turn about 5 laps later, losing my position to Juan. I pitted in the next lap, so no big deal. I came back out in 6th position. A few wrecks later, I'm back in 4th.

From then on, I spent the race in 4th position, trying to catch Nick. Unfortunately, with the lap traffic he really opened a huge gap on me. Once I did my second pit he lapped me. After running an easier pace and ensuring I didn't ruin the slower class cars' race, Nick picked up another lap on me. He wrecked it pretty bad in the end, but unfortunately I was only able to gain one lap back on him before he managed to limp across the line. I was about 1 minute, 20 seconds too late. :)

I had never driven these untill about 1/2 an hour before the race. I really liked how they stick to the road.I`ll definately be back for more.
