GT Sprint: Zolder

Had a nice run here today, though am sad how Kent had troubles early on.

What a devious little track this! Some curbs are friendly, others are downright diabolical. The exit curb for T2 had the gravity of a black hole if the rears got up onto it... Perfecting the line and maximising full use of the circuit's width was really critical here.

Got a good start but Kieron kept in touch for the opening laps as the two of us looked for a way past a slower GT1. Once we got around it though, I found my pace and took off. The car felt just great today, allowing me some chuckability so I could improvise when I needed to.

Not too much else happened in the race for me, but it was fun to see the top 2 GT1s so close after 40 minutes, passing by two laps from the end.

I would like to thanks to the driver (an white Porsche) and Joao Petry, for their great sportsmanship in the end of the race, pushing my car through the finish line, avoiding me an DNF and giving me and BPT II one more top 10. Thanks a lot, guys. My race was running nicely, but sudendly, at the large turn before the second straight, tires on the grass, and here i go with the rear end of my great Porsche right to the rails. Flatted rear tire, the car was spinning all over the place, i´ve tried to go to pits, but it was impossible, with all the traffic. I´ve parked the car at the first chicane until the end of race. With all this efforts, the poor engine blowed away. Congrats to both winners, to both podiums and to all who entered the race.

Well 3rd place once again. Tristan simply raced in another category, impressive! During the practice my pace was faster than the one I was able to keep during the race, but I was too worried about the track, very unforgiving, so no battle with Kieron for the second spot. So except for the first few laps I raced lonely in 3rd, too far from Kieron and with a good gap from Rogier, then after a mistake and a miraculously avoided contact with a lapped car (really just few millimetres) I opted for slowing down and settling for 3rd position.

Nothing to say about Q, 3rd just few /00 from Kieron and a life from Tristan, 1.29.055...wth man!

Sorry about my early exit. I locked up at the first chicane as witnessed in your first screenshot. Lost the front splitter and made my way back to the pits for repairs. In my anticipation of rejoining the field I kept tapping the throttle until I realized the temp indicator was showing in the upper left of my screen. It was at that moment I remembered Claus telling me he blew up in a race late last year due to over heating during he pit stop. I rejoined and intentionally kept the revs low until the motor cooled but halfway through T1 it lost it's song.

Very dissappointing and the second DNF of the weekend!

Nightmare for me had 4 goes in qually only managed a lap on my final go just missed out on pole

Race I was happy with the car I was following Jeffrey close Tim started to close back the small gap we made at the start then I had a strange crash with plenty of damage I tried to limp back to the pits I went on the grass to get out of the way and I stopped dead and could not get off the ledge engine died sadly so I real shame it looked like it could have been a cracking race right to the end

Kent: It's best to cut the ignition if you pit in these things as they do boil over easy when you're stood still.

Wow what a track that was, really good fun. I thought I was going to be in for a hell of a tough race (for 2nd). Fran, Marco and Rog where flying in practice and I couldn't match them. I wasn't far off but they just had the edge.

Qual went way better than expected and I came away with 2nd but only 2 tenths faster than Fran in 3rd. So I figured for the race I would be trying to hold off Fran.

Got a good start and I was surprised to see I had managed to get a gap to Fran in the opening laps. Probably more surprising was that I was staying with Tris for those first laps also. After Tris settled down though he was "outa there", he just literally drove off into the sunset. Once again I was left gobsmaked at that mans pace.

I was still pushing hard though and the gap to Fran was growing but it pretty much stabilized at 6 seconds. After a while though the gap grew after I guess Fran had a moment which gave me a huge buffer to carry to the finish which I managed to do to claim my 6th second place finish in a row lol.

grats to Jeff, Tim and Joao in the GT1's, and Tris and Fran in the GT2's. Grats to all who finished also :).

What a race! Really enjoying these GT1s at the moment.

After qualifying over half a second off Jeffrey and Barney I was expecting to lose touch with them in the first few laps but somehow managed to keep on Barney's tail until his strange crash. It looked like he clipped the curb on entry and the backend came around. Bad luck Barney, it could have been a good 40min battle.

I ran the entire race flat out to keep up with mr Ruskus and finished with the engine feeling rather worn out and tired at 22%.

Thanks to the backmarkers once again for being problem free on the most part.

Quali went quite well overall, 4th at about 2 tenths form Francesco and Kieron.
In the beginning of the race I was quite fast and confident, I was even thinking to try to pass Francesco as he seemed to be cautious. He probably was right anyway, as after few laps I hit the curbs too hard on the 1st chicane and kissed the wall, not to strong but enough to have the front and the front right red. Since then the car has been slower, one or two seconds per lap, so I even once I got used to the weird feeling of the wheel I couldn't catch back Rogier and Francesco.
I fought a bit with Mark but I spun once letting him take some distance, just to pass him some lap after while he was going slow, prolly due to a crash.
Nothing else relevant happened and I could end the race 5th.
