Formula-1 Exhibition

Sweet mod. Very, very fun, but also very, very draining. Everything comes at you at a blinding pace, so it takes a lot of concentration - not so much to keep it on the road, but to keep from smacking into your fellow racers. I demonstrated the pitfall of a moment's loss of concentration on the first lap of race #1, when I almost rammed into Tim's backside at about 150 mph or so in the first turn. :P

Seconded! I was so whooped after the first two sprints that I couldn't run the last one. Wow. Honestly, as fun as they are, they just may be too exhausting. There's NO down time. Straights disappear in the blink of an eye and you have to maintain an exceptionally high level of concentration the entire time! Anyone who managed to finish should be commended! :)

These are the cars that capture my fancy, and I love to drive them. Racing them was a whole other thing, though.

I was trying to put my finger on it, and you guys did it for me: There just is no "down" time, where you can take a breath and regroup for the next sequence. Everything happens so quickly ... and in traffic it's insane! Yeah. Really took "focus" to a new level.

That being said, everyone did pretty darn well. There were some spins and contact here and there, but no race-ending pileups in Turn 1 like I had feared with these cars. Awesome job all!

Apologies to Miguel. I shoved him through the final chicane on Lap 1, right about the time I was realizing racing these cars was going to be unlike any other I have done. Since neither of us spun or lost any parts, I'd like to think we were just "bump drafting" through the chicane :-)

It was an intense experience. I'm looking forward to the next one. Congrats to all who made it.

Can't believe I screwed up my fuel despite the trouble we had and restarted to fix. 3L in form lap wasn't going to get me very far! So I started from my stall. LOL. (probably going to DQ myself somehow here!) After you's took the green, they filled me up, and I sprinted to the exit line. Why did I have to wait till you all were half-way around track for light at pit exit to turn green I wonder? (about 15-20 secs!)

Carved my way up the field until I came upon Tim, who had just recovered from an off I think. He had only just made it back up to speed. Dogged him till the end but I couldn't find a way by. What a great race!

Parc fermme is awesome. Really sorts qually out well. Better go brush up on it!
