Fun-run: Extreme nGT

Could've done a whole hell of a lot better had I just weenied out and chose an RSR. I don't know. Seemed to be having conflicts with TeamSpeak or something as my sound kept completely cutting out at various inopportune times during the race. Once making me bump into someone running ahead of me (I can't recall your name, sorry) and another time sending me into a spin that I just couldn't save.

Very, very annoying.

I got a very weak start due to incorrect gearing and that allowed Kent to walk away and David to join him...I pushed very hard and managed to get by David early and I hoped to keep Kent in check...He seemed to be able to gap me about 5 tenths per lap at will so I just kept pushing as hard as I could hoping to keep him in sight.

I pit at exactly halfway and caught Gregg who made some very odd blocking moves on his pit in lap that cost me about 4 or 5 seconds...Once the gap got to 9 seconds I just hoped to have a clean run to the end when I caught a battle between the Z and an RSR...I tried to duck underneath but tagged the Z and waited for him to regain the track position...Then the RSR decided to drag race me to the next few corners which was very odd...

All in all a great race from Kent and David and Ray was especially kind in his underpowered TVR...

Ray - I believe that was me you tapped - no worries, we got through that ok.
I'm no setup guru-found a setup here and used it.
Had a phenomenal battle for pretty much over half of the race with the Nissan. Very good clean but hard racing! I tried to pass him clean - couldn't keep with him in the hairpin though... I would get close then he would pull away.. He showed me alot of respect and I tried to do the same.
I pitted a lap earlier than planned as my tires felt completely shot - took on 4 (originally thought of 2).. go one lap around - only to see the Nissan pulling out of the pits right in front of me again! lol! And off we went battling again to the end of the race.
Rhys - I see your report there - I'm sorry if you thought i was dogging you - believe me, i was trying real hard to stay out of the lead group's way. I just didn't want the Nissan to get too far out in front cause he makes it real hard to catch him back again :-)

I had a great all around run in the nGT's at Hock. Setting a personal best in qualifying. I guess those last minute changes were the ticket!

Got a good start and a very cautious lap 1 crossing the line with only 1.3 seconds gap to David Poel who was battling heavy with Rhys Hellion. After a few laps I found my groove and was noticing Rhys was now behind me and making me work to extend my lead. This continued until Rhys pitted with the gap only closing when I had stubborn lap cars to pass. I drove as hard as I could after Rhys pitted figuring he will have fresher tires for a number of laps more than I. I also had some untimely traffic on both my in and out laps. In my stop I decided to go with Soft fronts, since I only had to do 15 laps and the temps on the med's were real low. That turned out to be a great change as the car really felt great after temps came up. Now I have over 9 seconds on 2nd place and I started seting a few fast laps in a row then just cruised to the finish.

A word for cars being passed...please don't try and get on the bumber of the car passing you. This happened to me twice in this race and one time almost ended my race. You see you are committing yourself to the draft I can respect that, but you need to respect the fact that your braking is not going to be as good and the fact that you are now behind a car you are not familar with. The least you should do is brake a little early instead of missing your brake point and risking taking out someone that is ahead of you.

First off, my apologies to P Byun and G Mulgrew.

PB I spun you on the fist lap at the end of the long straight, I was trying to stay close, and was suprised that you hugged the curb all the way around the corner, thought you would sweep out,sooner and quicker. My fault, irresponsible and impatient, check out the replay to see that it was unintentional. I slowed and allowed you to go ahead of me. Sorry you had trouble later and had to quit, hope it was not due to damage inflicted by me.

GM I spun you at the same corner a few laps later. You went in hot and then snapped back around. I though I would be able to go through on the inside, because I thought your correction would have taken you much wider, and more time. But you snapped around very quickly. I pulllled over,to wait, but in my mirror it looked as if you were sitting still for 3-4 seconds so I took off. Check out the replay, again unintentional, and my appologies.

After those shamefull incidents I had a great race. I pitted early, and it worked well. Finished with 3 laps fuel, perfect. Chased Barry K for a while before my pit, but that was the only extended battle I remember.

Enjoyed my first race with the race2play community. Nice to be in a race without wreckers and boneheads. Despite my poor showing I actually set a personal best. I'm gonna have to get a racing wheel - the xbox 360 gamepad makes my hands and wrist ache after 15 minutes of white knuckle racing. Hopefully I didn't cause too much trouble for you guys while passing me.

I raced with soft slick up front and med slick in the rear. I overdid on fuel and had 20 L left at the end of the race.

With more pratice and a getting a racing wheel I hope to be more consistent and competitive.

That was one of the best races I`ve had in awhile even if it was for only ninth.Michael Jureidini gave me a great battle as we were evenly matched.I got into the back of him once and he spun (sorry) so I stopped and let him resume his position and we went right back to doing battle and it was extremely close lap after lap.Sorry to any of the faster guys that may have been slowed due to our very tight battle.It got pretty hectic a couple of times but I think we did ok.

I'd like to thank everyone for a great race. Since this was my first on line race with gtr2. (not a lot of experience on line.) Everyone was a gentleman. Thanks to Michael Cash when we were running 6th & 7th for not punting me when I short braked, didnt want to over shoot the hairpins. Had a great time and look forward to future racing. Stupid me, trying to hold on to 7th, spun off track and then spun back onto track and whoever I hit on the last lap I am sorry. Rookie mistake.

Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes :( I don't know what has happened to me, but I just can't drive consistently. Sloppy stuff.

I would have had nothing for Kent anyway, he was on another level. I would have liked to at least mount a challenge to Rhys, but too many repeated small errors meant I was never in it.

Good tight racing last night, especially in the begining, then when it spread out I thought I was going to have one of those "brain Fart" moments where i just forget what turn I am going into and wahlah off the track!. Well I did not and just as I was getting close to my scheduled pit stop I look in the mirror and while cruising in 4th (who me) I have Rhys coming up on me in 5th not realising he had already made his stop, he and I get into some tight racing for position, paint traded and all(my apologies again Rhys, just thought it was 4 position). My car is now getting too loose to keep a safe battle, I enter the pits. Now a miracle takes place, I get fuel and tyres without a glitch. I squeeze back onto the track in 8th with cars in front and behind me which helps put my head back into the race. Had to make some careful passes on slower traffic and stay focused on the next 2 cars for position.

I tried to catch back up to Ryan A in 5th(apology accepted) who gave me a slight spin around and lost 2 positions early in the race, but shit happens...unfortunately he was just out of reach and settled for a 6th place finish. Good racing Ryan, I guess these little RSR's have some bigger binders for stopping :>)

In the screen shot I forgot to add comment to the unusual Coke to Coke dual, Ryan made it around him and I eventually took a nose to nose collision right after oouch!
