Fun-run: GTR2-V8 (Euro)

Thanks a lot! to whoever that was that took me straight out on the last corner on the first lap!!!!!!!

you hit me so hard the car rolled 2 or 3 times and ended up on it's roof, lucky this is a sim or I could have been in real trouble.

I will have to take a look at the replay to see what happened but I must say I'm very dissapointed that some drivers still try to win an endurance race on the first lap.

well im glad i started in the back as usual ...
tried as much as possible to let the faster guys through -

2nd in quali with a PB, I thought I was seeing things! Had to start on the front row with some really fast drivers around me and that got me sweating before I'd even started.
The start went really well with me taking it easy but not losing 2nd straight away, that took another lap or so before Tolga went past. I was happier running behind him but I couldn't hang on and Enis crept up behind me next. We proceeded to have a race long battle with him taking me twice, before and after the 2nd pit and then we had some moments passing traffic in the final part of the race but Enis held on for 2nd. Janko was gone right from the start as I expected and I don't know what happened to Tolga, but I was happy to get a podium. Paul was right behind me during my first stint too and I was expecting to have to battle him too but he was unlucky in being taken out before we had to mix it up.
(when I exited the pit after my first stop there were 2 cars going slowly out of turn 1 and I ran into the back of one of them, sorry for that, I couldn't quite avoid you when you braked unexpectedly.)

Got knocked off lap2 by Roman. Just as well I was there really or he'd never of made it round the corner at that speed :\

Then got tapped off again a couple of laps later but that was just a racing incident 50/50 blame wise.

So from a healthy 6th all the way down to 16th and any chance of getting on podium gone. On the plus side that meant I did have some great racing fighting my back through the field. So start of lap3 16th place, 50+ laps later back up to 5th :)

Vast majority of the driving was first rate. Even the back markers did really well from what I saw.

I love the V8's, I'd happily pay double the membership fee even if this was the only thing R2P organised.

Not a bad result, I had some minor PC issues as qual started that required a quick reboot, managed to get back with time for one lap with hopes of not starting at the very back. I had to settle for 15th on the grid which wasn't so bad. I survived the first couple laps and just ran as hard as I could to gain some positions. Thankfully the pitlanes are short here, because when I called in a stop on lap 22, I came out of the last turn, slowed down a bit and watched the car in front of me pull into my pitstall so I was able to avoid hitting pit row and just do another lap or two. The rest of the race was fairly uneventfull for a change, there was some good tight racing and some interesting moments with lappers, than the final laps racing with George got pretty tight (sorry for the tap). In the end I'm pleased with a 10th.

My bad luck continues.

Got 4th in qualy which was easily be increased to 2nd. I had -0,35 in my last lap in 2nd sector but i had to late brake coz of a slow driver and spinned there.

My race started well and gained 2 places and got 2nd position. I was fast in early and lost pace after 13-14th lap and Enis caught me. We fight like 5 laps and dunno why he fell behind a bit. Then he entered pits. My pit strategy was double stopping. I entered my first pit at 28-29 but entered pits at my normal speed which i enter other tracks. But pit speed in that track was tooo low and i got a penalty for this. I changed rears at this lap. Next lap i changed fronts. Next lap i entered pits for penalty but pit spot was full so i had to go through and next lap i entered for penalty. I pitted 4 times and lost toooooo much time. I would won this race with my strategy, at least a 2nd place would be easy to got but as i mentioned above my bad luck continues ...

Yeah - Great Podium Daz, and a Front Row start as well. WooHoo!

I'd love to have been with you at the end, but someone else decided to ruin any chance I had of that happening - I got fed into the wall with a puncture & a whole raft of damage - with mechanical failure, so an unwelcome 3rd pit for over 3 minutes put paid to any decent finish.

I must say Thanks to everyone else making the space as required when being lapped - including Tolga after my first stop, when it was clear my tyres were alot fresher than his.

I look forward to seeing *most* of you again soon.

Man these V8s ARE THE BEST!!! They offer lots of action and great racing.

I was realy not doing good in practice, since i had 24-50fps and i was lost. That only happens to me on V8 tracks. So i went to gfx options and put all the FULLs to HIGH. Back into game... and what do you know... 110fps now. And i could start the qual. I fueled it up for 10 laps and started making laps. Didnt know i would get pole, but did, with the 55.6, but in race i did even better :).

I led from start to finish, but still was fun with all the lapping, and i realy was happy with the handling of car, sometimes drifting it 50meters without a problem :). There s this great turn on this track for that. Had no problems with any backmarkers, only had a 2 scares when someone exited the pit and onto the track on the racingline part of curb just infront of me. That was scarry, but was able to safely move away.

This mod realy rox, and its lots of fun on aussie tracks, even if you are all alone, the lapped cars provide you with tons of great racing, and in this race without a contact what so ever.

Didnt qualify to good, think i got 10th or there about as i did no practice for this one. I was patient at the start and got a few nudges from behind but it wasnt major. As the laps went on my pace got better and eventually got into 2nd place but a lap from the end i had to pit for a bit of fuel as i was empty. Auto pilot took over from there for some reason, even tho i have it disabled ??? dropped back to 4th.

I enjoyed it, roll on the next...
