GTR2 V8 (fun-run)

What an idiot. I went into the boards on the inside of turn 1, lap 1, made a mess of it under braking. Suspension wrecked and engine not running. Stupid stupid stupid!!

Well what can I say? Bloody fantastic, thats what!

Started in 3rd spot with Tim and Janko up the front. Had Paul beside me I think which meant I didn't have to worry about T1. Managed to keep pace with Tim for the first 5 or 6 laps but he was slowly starting to pull away. From then on just watching the clock and split times and trying to maintain my position on track.

Few scary moments during the pitstops, my "in" laps were very poor both times and I was sure I was going to lose position.

Last stint Paul was begining to reel me in with Mark hot on his heels. I just tried to keep Paul at a 3 second gap. All was fine until I made my only mistake of the race, (note to self: Don't look back whilst still in the hairpin you'll get confused and come off!)

At that point Mark was right up my exhaust with Paul right up his. My front right was screwed and they were both faster than me, so "Defcon 1" all out defensive driving for the last 2 or 3 laps. Just held on to 3rd, and I do mean just! Hope it was clean defensive driving from you view Mark.

Sorry Roman for the tap and the punt! I was hard on the brakes but just couldn't slow down in time. Another case of pushing to hard in 1st couple of laps. Sorry to see you didn't make it to the end.

Had a lot of fun even though I was pretty much all alone most of the race. Finally figured out how to take T1 without understeering right into the kitty litter.

Great race for me. I had pole, and managed to stay in 1st possition till my 1st pit. Then i lost there a lot, since i saw someone right where my crew was, but actualy he was 1 place behind them, but still i waited around 5seconds lol :P.

Came back on track behind Tim, and we had a good fight but i got through eventualy. Then he pitted, but i stayed on track few more laps, and again, when i came out, i was behind him :). It was 15 or so laps to go with 5sec gap to 1st. I got him few laps before finnish, after good fight again into T1 and won the race.

That was a great race until I miss judge the pit lane hitting the wall and bursting into flames :-)

Another excellent V8 race, it just keeps getting better, not from a results standpoint, but the intense racing all the way through was amazing. I got from 5th up to 4th before I was caught by a charging Mark and had to race with him on my bumper for ever. He got me before the first stop but I got him back in the pits, then he got me again, but I got it back in the pits once more. In the meantime Paul had crept up to us and got past me during my stop. So I was in 5th but not for long because Mark was still determined to pass and use his speed. He went round my outside on turn 1 on my second lap after my stop when I didn't have enough grip to hold him off. Great racing Mark, I really wanted to hold my position but I knew you were a lot faster, and I did alot of defending, hope I didn't frustrate you too much.
After that Mark went off to hassle Paul instead and I just tried to keep them in view and hope for a mistake from someone. No mistakes however and 6th was where I finished, still, a great action packed race.

has to be my worst race ever. i got caught in the crunch in turn one, and got front end dmg that gave me fits under braking till the pitstop. i had serveral offs when i just pushed it a little harder than i had downforce.

repaired in pitstop 1, and headed back out in next to last. off on cold tires, off when someone got a little impatient in turn one. then i went a few laps too far before the tire change, another off (see a pattern here?).

i request pit, and when i get in, they ignore me. the guy is there, but he wont do anything. arg. i back up, try again, nothing, so i take off and make another round and pit again. this time they give me 4 new, skip the repairs from mr over-zealous, but by now im almost 2 laps down.

so i just finished the rest out doing the best i could to just make laps till the end. did have some fun racing #10 who was putting me 2 laps down rofl.

Quallied on the 2nd row and had an OK start - I didn't want to do anything silly into Turn 1. I must admit to bracing myself for an impact with John D as he came into the braking zone WAY fast , but the wall took the brunt of his car with only a small tap that got me slightly sideways. Sorry your race ended as quickly as it did John :(

I had a race plan that I decided to stick to - nothing mentally fast on the first stint, just smooth and at my own pace... These are heavy buggers to haul around with nearly a full tank of gas! My team mate Daz was right behind me - so I was totally comfortable with it all so far... until just after the 1st pitstop, and I miss my brake marker into T1 whilst watching Daz & Mark having a right battle behind me - only now they're in front... what a pillock. Bloody COLD TYRES still! :)

My pitstops were right on the money - narrowly missing out on getting Andy at the first one, and retaking both Daz & Mark in the process after the 2nd stop.

The last stint of 18 laps was absolutley BRILLIANT. Hats off to Mark M - he had the patience of a saint, first with Daz, then with me. He was clearly faster through the infield, but as I was running next to no downforce (2), the straights allowed me that little bit of breathing space. T1 did produce some great moments - GREAT racing Mark! The last few laps saw us close down Andy - but less than a second between the 3 of us at the end, and Daz within spitting distance... after 52 laps of pure adrenalin racing. Who could ask for more!!!!!

Geese Paul, 2 setting for your rear wing, that must of been hairy for you infield but no wonder i found it so tough to keep my car alongside you down the straight, at one point i got a super drive out of the last turn and pulled alongside you and even had my nose a few inches infront of yours, but you managed to retake me before T1, thought that my car was only getting half throttle because of how you pulled away on the straight. Really enjoyed the racing with Darren, Paul and Andy ... BTW Andy that was good defending dude, tyres at the stage were shot so going around the outside was outta the question, v8 races are the best !! just need to stop making the odd mistake, like undertsteering off track, so easy to do.
