Euro FT: Silverstone

Punted off on lap 1 again :(

It's getting really old now.

Good race was fun! Had good pace but always ina a battle or two allowing Rory to get away grrrrrrrrrrrrr :)

Many types of drivers in these races. There are guys who use very little wing, having great speed on straights but struggle to get around corners and using the whole track and sometimes much more. And there are guys with more wing, less straightline speed but faster through corners and staying within the white lines almost every lap. I'm one of the last type and those others sometimes scare the sh*t out of me with their do or die actions at the end of a straight. But hey ... we all finished and I'm happy with 6th. Grats to the guys on the podium. And Rory .... is there anything you don't drive? :-)

Sorry Rob, think I was the guilty party, I tapped someone going into the 2nd right hander and spun them, I had a guy on my outside and inside and got a bit distracted, eased off the brakes as they started to lock abd ran into your backside. I took a self imposed stop on the final lap from 9th place and let the entire field by as a penalty.

Same for the other shark car but on lap two this time, was in 2nd and just got rammed from behind going into the tight right hander. Was too busy saving it to know who it was.

Drove rubbush after that as i was well annoyed, wd to rory though, great drive

crap was really looking forward to this.

my car should never have spun...then slide in GRAVEL for 200meters then hit the wall at 2mph pretty much totaling my car.

guess i was in the middle. i ran with enough wing to slow me down on the straights, but not enough to keep the back end from wanting to break loose in T1 -- resulting in some erratic lines there.

spent much of the race chasing George. when i first caught up, i figured making the pass down the long back straight sounded like a good idea. but i misjudged his line and braking and rather than setting up for the turn i found my self getting sideways trying to evade to the inside.

next time i caught up i did a bit more planning. on 2nd to last lap, with Vikz gaining on me quickly, i figured i'd brake a bit to the outside of George, taking a wider entry and try to carry more speed onto the back straight. but i again got just a bit closer than i should have and just couldn't keep the car stable under the heavier braking (in a gentle curve) and had to use the escape road.

George continued on calmly to P6 and i lost a position to Vikz.

oh well... had to give it a try, just couldn't pull it off. it's tough getting that timing right.
