Disaster.

Very disappointing. I guess I need to start being more aggressive on the starts. I take it easy on cold tires so I don't run over the guys in front of me, only to get passed several times on the first lap...

Still, a bad day racing is a good day.

Pretty frustrating when a guy runs into you and doesn't say a word about it...

I am messaging Tommy away from the post-race board to settle the fault of our bump on the opening lap.

Overall this was a good pick-up race for me (pickup meaning, I got home from work and onto the 'puter just as qualy began!). These cars are tricky to downshift; I was always tempted to just rat-tat-tat down the gears into the hairpin... but a loop de loop always awaited.

Honestly, aside from the incident between Tommy and I, I don't feel I deserved any victory here: I spun on the warmup lap and should have moved myself to the back of the grid (not sure if Tim saw that). Pretty embarrassing. This is a race I sure wish I could have a mulligan on.

If we all just pls remember that in series races (not Fun-Run's) some of us are running for points in a championship, I think it would help. And tonight's double adventure really gave me a setback.

Hey Jimmy I have been going over that same issue alot since my early race in f3,After I punted someone going into T1 on the start.Felt real bad.Iam not one to push it to hard on that 1st lap but its one of those deals where you are dammed if you do and dammed if you dont.So I go as hard as i can without over driving my car.You just need to be sure as hell that you can hold a line or make a split sec change without taking a driver out.On that 1st lap there is never a good reason why another driver should get punted(or any lap)But this is racing and it will happen.Ive been punted and I have punted.I hate it as much one way as I do the other.

Nice to finally get a full compliment of laps in for a change, even if it was a short race. Was kind of wishing it were a bit longer, since Tommy was catching me and we were both just about to get up to Jarrod in 2nd, so we three missed out on some fun there!

Lousy Q since I was late entering and didn't get a clear lap, but I figured it would be ok. Had done some practice after getting crashed out of the FBMW race the other night and knew the car would do 52's in race trim if I didn't fry the tires (which seems oddly easy to do for these cars - zero grip at this track!).

Picked up a number of spots on the first lap cleanly, but after watching my replay I think I may have turned Jimmy in the hairpin when I was trying to outbrake Vincent. Not sure since in my local replay there's still space between us and I didn't notice any contact at all during the race, so I hope you just spun there. I'll have to look at the server replay and compare; hard to tell online sometimes. My apology if there was contact at your end of the net.

Luckily managed to squeeze by Zach and Jerry in a two turn stretch on lap 3, which put me in 3rd with almost six seconds up to Jarrod. Seemed like I was going just a bit quicker and the gap was coming down, but I made a few blunders overdriving and couldn't quite get there in time.

Started getting really interesting in the last 3 laps when I'd made my tires unhappy and the gap back to Tommy was shrinking just a bit quicker than the gap up to Jarrod. But I saw the lap count and knew if I just ran solid laps I'd barely make it, which is how it turned out. Nice dramatic end though, with 2-4 covered by one second and everyone pushing to the checker. In fact Motec says my last lap was my quickest up until I backed off before the line when I knew I had the place.

Nice work from Tristan for winning on little prep, and a good job by Jarrod for doing exactly what he needed to do for 2nd - would have been really easy to overdo it and lose two spots in a blink. Bummer for Tommy though as he was the class of the field tonight.

No, I didn't just spin. In my replay you came skidding all the way down the braking zone past a few cars and ran into me as I was rolling into the middle of the corner. It was my own fault for being there though, If I had been more aggressive on the start you would have ran into the guy that started behind me...

Doesn't seem like a good place to be trying to outbrake a bunch of cars on the first lap, but then again I have a lot to learn. I think I can be a little more aggressive on cold tires and still maintain control, and since this is racing at that's the name of the game, I am going to start working on holding my spot through the full first lap.

No more easy spots from me on the first lap guys :)

OK, so that's what happened. I most definitely locked the fronts and went straight on there trying to get under Vincent, but it appeared to me during the race like I didn't hit anyone. I didn't know at the time you'd even spun, since I didn't see, hear or feel any contact. Actually thought during the race that I was lucky not to have, which is why I didn't say anything. In my replay there was still space between us; the only reason I noted it was that I was surprised to see someone spin then since I hadn't been aware of it, plus the timing of your spin in the replay suggested something amiss. It's just an unfortunate fact of life in online racing that the view each of us gets does not always mirror what our competitors see, even in situations where there is no obvious warping. The closer we race the more likely it is to occur.

Still, it was indeed an overzealous pass on tires not fully up to temp and it obviously did affect you, so you have my apology. Feel free to run over me at will... ;-)

Nice race for me, pretty fun really! I had a so so qualifying session, but the race turned out well for me. Moved up a couple spots on the first lap, then kinda stayed there and watched the guys ahead move away quickly. After Tommy's incident I knew he would come back flying let him go, there's no sense blocking somebody that's way quicker... There was no way i could catch them, so I concentrated keeping my 5th spot, trying to make consistent laps and avoid mistakes. All turned out well and I grabbed 5th, not bad!
