Atlantic FB: Silverstone

Well that was not any fun...lol
During practice I was getting slower frame rates.
Decided to continue after I rebooted.During qually it was not great but livable.
Well race time ..start off into turn one,all not to bad..into turn 2 and before I get there I freeze up solid.Came to a stop in the grass continued alone off into turn 1 again and freeze up againest the inside wall I go.Well enough is enough I bailed rather than cause some havac and ruin someones race.

Excitement for my race!
Very early on (lap 2 ?) I lost the rear end into the last right hairpin area and shot off track into the barrier. I think I put a rear wheel into the grass under brakes (?).
Luckily that was only nose damage, which didn't seem to matter much. Back on track and then in 16th and a brisk charge back up the field to be 5th by the end. Phew! Which had a few hairy moments along the way, but all things considered it was a very good result after the error!

Some good battles with cars I had to make my way past, so that made the whole race a string of exciting and fun challenges! And even if I had not made the error and had a 'clean' race I very likely would not have made higher than 5th anyway.

Qualifying really spoke for itself...20 out of 21 whew!
Turn 1 I figure I really can't get into to much trouble seeing there wasn't much to worry about behind me, so I get a good start and just hang back. looking ahead to the quick chicane I start setting up for T2 taking the line and I get tapped from the rear and pickup some slight left side damage. Oh well still didn't loose any positions LOL
I just settled in and waited for some attrition to take effect, it did and I gained a few spots from that, but then I got a nice groove on and had some sweet racing. I can't complain about my 12th place finish, nor my teammate Francesco coming in 7th behind Jim Day, well done, good job guys!
Unfortunately, Bob Fay could not hold onto his "Rubber" and stated to fade back through the field, next time BOB.

Really fun race, busy all the time. Was caught out a bit at first not having done this layout before, but most of it was familiar enough that it wasn't a big deal. Used Banta's Birmingham setup as a base and tweaked it a little to taste in the short practice I got in. Qualified better than expected in 8th.

First lap was hectic, but I ended up making up 4 places just from staying out of trouble. From there it was a several lap chase up to Enzo, followed by about 7-8 laps of great nose-to-tail racing. We probably rubbed wheels at least 4 times without any harm done, until I tried a late braking pass under him in the hairpin. Not seeing me until too late, he turned in and nailed me. That spun me and dropped me back to 5th when Chris, who had caught us while we were dicing, got by.

Took off after them and saw Enzo go off at Copse when he highcentered on the curbing. One down, on after Chris. Didn't look like I'd get up to him in the laps left, but he got loose just before the chicane and that put me in position to look for an opening. Saw it on the final lap in the same spot I'd tried on Enzo, but this time it worked - just. Only a few turns left so I just held on for a podium!

Nice, close racing, with just a hint of rubbin' - just the way it ought to be!

Hats off to Tolga. I may have been the faster man today, but he was definitely the better racer, and that's what it takes to win.

I had some great practice laps on my own just barely dipping into the 1:23s, but during practice I didn't really see that. It wasn't until the last qualy lap that I saw half a second advantage on myself after the second sector pop-up that I realized I had a chance. By the end of the lap it was .8 of a second ahead of myself and .1 ahead of Tolga. Anyway, it was insanely flukey because it was not only my personal best, but came exactly when I needed it.

Almost jumped the start, but somehow turned it into a legal, but pretty good start. I nearly duplicated my first corner practice spin on the second lap, but while I kept the car from spinning Tolga went right by. From then on it was just me catching up, and being completely unable to pass. I tried everything I could think of to get by including timing my runs for different parts of the track, but the one time I did get by he passed me right back in an area I must have tried, and failed, to pass him 10 times.

I had a slight hiccup when the computer paused for a second a couple times, but they were uneventful. I had a couple spins at the end when some of the corner signs went down, but I was far enough ahead of third that it didn't really matter. Anyway, great race everyone. That was a well deserved win Tolga, there was nothing I could do, especially off the last corner.

Well I made a total mess of that one, how embarrasing. And I don't even know how or why.

I had practiced earlier, I needed to after being out of town for a bit, and probably had 50 laps online between 3 sessions. Just took my same basic set and tweaked a little, was stable and I was feeling good.

Qual'd 3rd, passed Tolga from the second row at the start and slotted into second behind Justus. (why did I let him out in front of me in Qual anyways? :-) Approached the right hand turn-in to the National course, touched the brakes, and snap spun! WTF???
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a hot-lapper, I practice with race set and full fuel, so it's not like I had only practiced with a Qual set and was caught unawares.
So my race for the lead was done, now it's recovery mode. Re-enter, come around on lap 2, and I do it again in the very same spot!!!
Now I'm just completely confused, I must have screwed something up somewhere, like loaded the wrong set or accidentally hit the brake bias. I don't know. What's even worse at this point is that I spun thru the inside of the turn, and the game gave me a 10 second stop-and-go penalty for "cutting the course". :-(
Yay. So I come around, serve my s&g, and come out DFL in 20th. Did the best I could to recover points, taking it very easy as now I didn't trust myself or the car.

Apologies to my team and anyone I spun in front of for being a blithering idiot, as I was flying backwards scratching my head/balls.
At least Chris ran in the top 3 and narrowly missed the last podium spot while I was busy being a retard.
