Pacific FB: Mosport

From 10th, to 21st, back to 8th. My problems at the start of races are killing me. I little more patience when following Tommy Gunn would have kept me from going off track trying to avoid running over him. It was a nice save though :).

Had a guy block me several times over a lap or so, if I had not slowed he would have wrecked us both. He finally ran himself off and I was able to get by cleanly. All in all a pretty uneventful race.

Off to work on my patience :)

I was in 2nd with about 5 laps to go when I got a lag spike on the backstretch. It was about a 10 sec pause and once the game got going again, I was in 5th...Finished in 4th due to Fish spinning off in turn 2 but it could've been better.

This sort of thing happened at the PLMS race last weekend, it happened tonight, and it will continue happening till I find the problem...

20th to 9th to 6th to last. My four fun laps... weeeeeeeee :-(

Banzai speed is not trusty when the front wing is damaged from a stupid warm up lap.

Good clean racing with many of you, you race hard but play fair. Much frustration getting proper track installed and compatible series chosen, and wrong wheel setting, caused me to miss prac. & qualie. From last up to 10th with lots of spirited laps as mentioned. Learned you must put a few extra laps of fuel in to make full distance (c'mon, geeze..). 17 laps worth and I run dry on back straight, OUCH! From 10th to 15th, EndOfShow.

I had a bad start off the line for some reason, but I guess I have to be glad I even finished the race, after my first lap run into the loop went for a wild ride!
I had not tested a race fuel car at all so I wasn't sure what it was going to be like. And in these you need to go FAST and maintain that good speed or you are going to lose heaps of time, so you can't afford to drive "slow" to feel out the car!
A fuelled up car must move balance forward as my rear brakes locked big time and I skated sideways into the loop and luckily back in line with the track and still moving forwards reasonably! Probably exciting for all the cars behind too!

It took me quite a number of laps before I realised I should move the brake bias forward, so I had a fair number of other rear end lock up problems along that way. I could close down any gap Tommy got ahead, but you need more speed than that to have any passing chance so the only place to pass at Mosport is up the back straight - where I did have a good speed advantage for that to work fine - but on my final setup for a run through the loop and up the back straight to pass I had another rear end skip/lock-up in the Loop which slid me off track and dropped me 4secs behind and also let Conor past. So much for that good plan.
That was when I woke up to the need for that brake bias shift.....sheesh.

At some point Conor vanished and I was 2nd again. And I had a bit of leeway back to 3rd so I could slow down the pace to be safer because I did not know what tire wear and grip-loss would happen in later laps and I didn't want to crash out.

I raced both Mosport races today and DNF's for both. In both races one small mistake and its over! It happened on the slowest part of the track at the double apex right hander. My tire touches the inside curb of the second right and my car does a slow roll onto it's lid! I have never experienced this in either rfactor or GTR2. every time I have flipped a car its been a perty violent ride. I will get over it in about a week but it sure hurt... MT Gunn

I was here for practices and had a good feel with this track but my internet connection didnt want me to do this one.
After 5 "connection lost" during practices, decided to give up

That was a sloppy race for me. Apologies to Bryan Noelte for the tap on the first lap into the slow corner...it looked like the car in front of you slowed more than you (or I) expected it to, and I wasn't able to slow enough from that to keep from getting into you. Sorry for the tap...hopefully it didn't damage your car.

After I went off at that turn trying (unsuccessfully) to avoid Bryan and make sure that he continued on in front of me, I rejoined at the back and had some good racing with Mulgrew and Villabona as we were worked our way towards the front. Gregg and I were fast on completely different parts of the track, which made for a lot of good back-and-forth passes in almost every turn on the track.

Edgar - sorry for the small contact coming out of the hairpin...I think that we had completely different gearing, and pulled different exit speeds out of there. I tried to make the contact as minimal as possible once I saw that it was going to happen.

Like I said, sloppy race for me, causing so much avoidable contact.

Until I had my off with 6 to go, I had an AWESOME race with Justus. One of the most fun sim races i've ever had. 2 VERY different but overall almost dead equal cars. Justus finally, after almost 10 laps of constant pressure, got the best of me in T2 and took my preferred line on the inside. I tried to keep momentum on the outside but scrubbed the fronts which put my RF onto the grass. So, after I completed my "Beemer-In-A-Blender" spins, Conor buzzed by me and I was able to continue on my way with a comfortable and slowly extending gap to 6th.

Again, an awesome display of driving by Justus. A great race and one I will be looking forward to watching the replay of.

Somebody knows why I do not appear in the standings? It is weird, I hope I haven't got a DQ after of the race. Did I?

Gary, it is ok, no problem. Race incident...and I am still improving gearing handle...
