Pacific FB: Oran Park

That was intense and fun. Six of us in the 1:05s in qualy!! Fantastic stuff.

After a solid start, I just needed to hold pace. My high 1:04 in practice was set with a full tank of gas, so I knew the balance of the car was spot-on. Consistency won this race, but I was also lucky to avoid what appeared to be a healthy dose of crash-bangin' action. Lap 1 thru the 'esses' looked particularly hairy in the replay.

Thanks R2P for the series, and thanks to everyone who provided such great competition. These cars have grown on me alot since Zhuhai, and I look forward to S6.

That race all ended up a waste of time for me.

After a few hours online all perfectly fine, the car went to crap as more people joined and by qualifying it was quite slick and tough to run fast and stay on track. So I couldn't get anywhere near my practised qual time.

In the race it was similar, but I had a higher downforce car for the race anyway so that covered some of it.
Chasing Chris into Turn 1 I lost sight of the first apex and hit the curb and the car kicked into a spin and I skated into him backwards - but we both seemed to survive fine. So the race went on.

Lap 10 or so my game froze solid as I came around Turn 1 and that locked up the PC totally, so that was the end of that.
That typically happens in rFactor when there are Internet data flow problems and it loses sync and goes to la-la land. Which the prior 'grip effect' was showing there was quite likely some trouble in that path to R2P from here.

Good, clean race everyone. Grats to Tristian on the win.

Qualified 5th and remained patiently behind Tommy and Richard as Pat and Tristian zoomed ahead. After a awhile, Richard passed by Tommy and I started working on him. Going into T1 on one lap, he overshot it and went into the grass, giving me 4th.

It took me a while to catch up to Richard as he was about 2 seconds ahead of me at the time, but I eventually did and I stuck to his rear wing for quite some time after that. I was a bit faster than him but I didn't have the balls to overtake him in one of the "passing zones" at this track. Quite frankly, I don't there is a good one here so I relied on my momentum coming out of corners and patience for him to make a mistake, in order to grab 3rd. The first plan didn't work so well because Richard must've had a low downforce setup as I couldn't get by him, despite great corner exits. Plant two did eventually work with 2 laps to go when he spun out coming out of one of the esses. Grabbed the podium spot right there and then and came home safely.

I owe Clay a big sorry for making side contact going into 1.I got a big jump on the green flag and came up though the field to fast!I got a littel unstable under braking and took you out! Sorry!! I did not know you went off till i went and saw the replay

Great race Tristan! Thought I might be able to keep up with you after qual'ing only 0.2 behind you. Now you tell me you had a full tank of gas! :)

It was a good race after not running with R2P for several months. I was able to maintain a couple of seconds between my car and Richard and Conor throughout the race.

The 24 laps were mostly uneventful. I almost slid off the track in T1 at one point after taking a low line going in to pass a lapped car. Got squirrely and went a little wide in T1 but kept it on the track. All the lapped cars were running well, and were courteous when I came up behind - THANKS!

Very sloppy race for me, I know I did not hit anybody but I did make it difficult a couple times for the leaders to get by. Usually because I was out of position, and they did not know where I was going. Sorry if I messed up anybodies race.

Congrats Tristan and Podium

I had a great race with Conor who did everything thing he could to make it absolutely clean. I commend him for that.

A mediocre start saw me get bottled up behind my teammate but a little coaxing on Ventrilo and Tommy allowed me to go through. I was hoping to put some distance between us but he went wide in T1 and thats when Conor began pressuring me. We ran nose to tail for a very long time and his biggest advantage came in traffic. It seemed I was cutting the swath for him to get through!

Conor had a small bobble late in the race and with two to go I thought I had it locked up. Thats when the curb Siren called my name ever so sweetly and I couldn't resist. I turned myself around and handed the podium to Conor, who deserved it.

Grats to Tristan on a dominating win...
