Euro F3: Montreal

Aargh! Had just pitted from third place when I took a bit too much curve at the chicane before the hairpin and spun into the wall. Had to pit for repairs. Chased down a 20s gap and was less than a second from 10th! So close! *cries*

Same result 2 seasons running make a safe pass into last chicane and get taken out by poor driving on someone elses behalf, when you have been passed FFS just accept it 2 drivers retire cos of poor driving.

Would have liked to have dedicated this race to my Mum who passed away at 7.40 tonight, thought about not driving but wanted to win it for her but not to be.

Grats to however won

Some great racing with Roberto Massa in the middle of the race. I was faster on the straight and was in his slipstream, but he held me off brilliantly. The other fun battle was with Rob Clenshaw at the start for a few laps and then at the end when he was catching me at 3-4 seconds per lap. I had some extensive damage including no front wing. Congrats to Ben on a great drive to take the win!

Apologies to John Bayes for slowing up in the middle of a turn, I had lost my front wing at the beginning of the lap and the car was just not turning in. I saw you coming in my mirrors, but just couldn't get out of the way with an ill handling car. I'm terribly sorry about that, you had some serious pace going there. Also, condolences on your mum's passing.

German sorry for any contact we had. Rest assured I was not trying to race you and I had given up any hope of that in the first lap. I spent the rest of the race in surviaval mode. Congrats to Ben, Peter V. and Peter A. and everyone else that kept it pointed in the right direction.....

Didn't do this race because I feared the same problems as in the FT-race. And it doesn't really surprise me that a lot of hotlappers didn't make it to the finish.

Jonh Bayes I´m really sorry for the incident, I gave you the inside and when u changed the direction to take the 2nd part of the chicane u did it without thinking that maybe there were somebody, u close too much and was imposible not to touch you very softly but enough to make you spin.
One more time, I'm sorry.
But don't be wrong, I let you pass in the inside because you was faster than me, but you close too much.

I was running pretty well letting everyone trip over themselves until I caught up with Peter Aksenov, seems a bit petty under the circumstances tonight to lodge a complaint, but surely if you are slow out the last corner and can clearly see me alongside, you give racing room, not just take the racing line and finish my race in the crash barrier?

Having a rough week here!

I was late to join Official Practice and I couldn't lap within 1 sec of my practice times. Then the same for qualifying, so that left me at 13th on the grid for the race start. So from the start I was hoping I might just get into the Top 10.
I knew the cars suffered notably from slippery tires as they wore down so I ran a fair bit more wing for the race than for qualifying. Though I still seemed to hit higher speeds than anyone else I got to compare to down the long straight, so I guess I really had less wing than most others still anyway.
One by one the cars ahead 'disappeared'. Crashes, disconnections, extra pitting etc. And then I was 2nd.
An almost full race length battle with Peter Aksenov kept me under pressure the whole race, and any slip up would have lost me that position, so I was very happy to be able to maintain that pace and survive!
Certainly a very big surprise to move that far up the finishing ladder! It must have been a lucky 13 today!

Fun first race for me, a bright green car hit me at the chicane and that was just the start of the eventful race lol but not a bad first race.
