USA F3: Montreal

Damb. I pegged someone in the hairpin 1st lap. I can't tell you how sorry I am. That was the heighth of uncool.

I also owe an apology. I returned to the track when I shouldn't have. I certainly disrupted, if not ended, someones night of racing. For that, I am very sorry. Know, that I will not make that error in judgment again. I will, however, make others. Hopefully fewer all the time.

What a mess of a race.

12th to 6th after pitting for damage repair.

had a great consistent race! was fighting with peter valkovitz the whole damn race, that was awesome! i was a steady 2-3 seconds behind until the pitstops, where i managed to gain 4 seconds and get just ahead of peter! Then, in the heat of the moment, i went too hot on the throttle on the hairpin, on cold tires, spinning like an idiot, falling 7 behind peter, and of course, throwing away a podium finish. i was eating away slowly the gap (but not enough until the end of the race), but every time i had a great lap, traffic wouldnt let me by. somehow, they decided to race me once i got close to them :(
nevertheless, this race was a great one!

I was so lucky on this race to make it to 7th!!! I started 11th, a decent performance considering i haven't raced the rF3 in a while. At the first corner i barely touched somebody and ended up losing my front wing, these things are sooo easy to damage!!! Anyway, off to the pits and came out 16th, having a lonely race and trying not to make any mistakes. Apparently there was some accidents up front which put me in contention for the Top 10, and after the first pit stop settled in 9th. Had a nice run on Bert, who eventually made a mistake and gave me 8th. Then it was Tramontana's turn who seemed to have lost his front wing, so I got 7th. I'm amazed at this result, as I was about 4 secs off the fastest lap.

Well everybody has there bad races. Was having good battle holding second from Canapino. Five laps or so into the race I came up on lap traffic really fast, right in the middle of chicane and had to stomp on brakes to avoid running him over. Ended up getting bumped in back, knocking front and rear wing off. Couple of cars got tangled in that mess. Took a pit but car was unpredictable and I had to park it after a few laps.

I was a little slow in qualy, but I moved up a place on the start and could have taken a little more if I wasn't so damn tentative. I was 6th or 7th by the end of the first lap.

Anyway, ran pretty well for a bit and had a couple cool battles, but around lap 4 or 5 I started to push and spun into a wall. I planned on heading back to pits and started heading for them, but a message came up saying "car unsafe to drive" so I didn't chance it.

Sounds like I might have still been in it, or at least had some racing left, but my front wing was completely gone, and I would have needed two stops or a super long(dead tires) stint so maybe not.

From 9th to 5th, alright I guess. Forgot we had to take tires on the fist pit. So had to pit again and get fresh tires so I would't get dq'd. May have had something for 4th if I hadn't made that mistake, but probably not. Got pegged fom behind in first coner of first lap again, right rear damage made the car unstable under braking and corner exit. Not sure what else I can do to avoid getting hit in first corner of fist lap...

I think I qualified 9th, but started 7th due to penalties on cars that were ahead? I had a good traction start and shot up to 5th by Turn 1 but messed up Turn 2 and dropped back to 6th. Justin and Bobby hot on my heeels and eventually Justin spun off and then it was just Bobby chasing me - which all in all lasted the whole race really!

Many cars ahead fell aside along the way and then I was 2nd eventually! But when Augustin made his way back to me I waited till he got very close and then just let him go past, rather than cost us both time fighting when he was obviously faster. Any time wasted could have damaged my gap back to 4th...Bobby back there!

In two races here now I have never remembered to check the pit entry procedure so as to get the best time into the pits. So I slowed way too soon and lost a lot of time on my pit stop. With Bobby just 2sec behind when I pitted that was going to lose me 3sec or more.
I pitted at half race so that I would get optimal tire performance in total, but quite a few people ran for longer - I don't see why(?). And when Bobby finally pitted, after I had faster laps on good tires which narrowed the gap between us, he still came out of the pits about 2 secs ahead of me. BAH!!
My only hope was that I was on optimal temp tires and he was on cold tires! So I pushed as hard as I could to try to pressure him on his out lap with cold tires. I guess it worked, seeing he accelerated too hard out of the hairpin and spun which got me past him again. So from there on I had a 7 sec gap to help protect me in 3rd.

Even though it remained 7 secs for almost 13 laps it was still a neck and neck race where every 0.1sec mattered between us! So it was non-stop pressure to maintain the required pace to stay ahead!

I owe an apology as well. Sorry if I screwed up anyone race.
I was trying to stay out of the way, but my car was damaged and having trouble holding a line. (even after pitting on the first lap...bummer)
could someone check the replay and let know if I could have done anything different? I guess I could have pulled off track but I'm not sure. (just trying to get back to the pits)

crash lap one hair pin, locked up and slid in to him no place to go and a big hit getting back to the pits on the straightaway.
lap three turn 9 and hairpin I was getting ready to get lapped and there was a whole lot of crashing going on behind me. could I have done something different...short of not starting the race :]
