Got pole, which was a suprise, but once again dinner clashed with with the racing. I'm ashamed to say I chose burgers and macaroni cheese over F1, but thats life sometimes...

i started really well and was conserving everything waiting to the end so i could give it the full berrys, but the problem with that was i didnt make it to the end because some backmarker span twise infront of me and the second time stoped right on an apex and ruined my race. i practiced like hell for this race thinking it was gonna be a great one.
dont know if i can be bothered to practice for the next one if something that thats gonna happen again

Got together with another car during lap 1. Go turned and hit the fence, knocking off frt aero and damaging the suspension. Limped back to the pits, repaired and tried to carry on. Gave it too much throttle a couple of laps later and crashed in the same spot as lap 1, heavily damaging the car this time. Not my day I guess....just when I feel I have a handle on these fuckers...

Yeesh. Note to self, might need more than 30 minutes practice before 1st race with new G25 pedals. :)

Been so busy, haven't had time to practice this week at all. Hopped on the server and pulled up last season's setup. Had decent pace in practice, but couldn't keep any consistency. I couldn't find the threshold on the new pedals for the brake or the throttle. Doh.

Poor David McRoberts must have thought I was on crack. ha. I'd pass him, lock it up at the next corner, and spend couple laps passing him again, only to lock it up again or goose the throttle. (the G25 throttle feels softer than the black momo, almost like there's no spring under there)

Then I locked it up couple more times, just decided to park it after I creamed poor Ryan when he unexpectedly slowed way up on the back straight. I think he was trying to let me pass. Sorry Ryan.

Although watching the real F1 race today, I still did better than the real life STR cars. LOL ;) Where's the tractor in rFactor for me to hit?

Had a nice start, had a few local battles and after a few laps I settled down behind Todd and Sam. after a while Todd did a small mistake and I overtook him and was following Sam. Everything went nice and clear until I damaged the car in the accident Sam mentioned (no, I wasn't that backmarker - I was just following Sam) and had to do early pit and lost a lot of time while getting damaged car to the pits. Pit crew did a good job - they repaired it quick and car felt almost like before after the pit.

After that I got into the situiation where I couldn't catch Todd and John, who were running 5-6, and there were no cars behind me, so I was just hotlapping alone.

With ~15 to go, when I was 6th (Todd had some problems and had to do an extra pit) and expectes a safe finish, I got CTD with something like "dll exception" from rFactor. Never had this before for almost 2 years :)

Seems I have too "bad karma" for F1 series - disco in the China, now that CTD... :(

Yes me and Sam eat together, but he has the stomach capacity of a sparrow. I on the other hand have a much bigger appetite... :-)

First of all, I'd like to thank the team for doing a superb job preparing my car; the setup was choice, as in, mega choice !! I ran the same lap times with 10% rubber remaining as I did with 75%. Gradually softening the rear end has done wonders for this little R25. Tire temps were equal the entire race (just below 195 degrees F), and with 85% brake pressure, the discs only wore halfway by the time we crossed the finish line.

I had two mistakes, spinning in front of backmarkers (who moved over when necessary, many thanks to you all!), due to overzealous downshifting. I changed my shift pattern for the last 20 laps, coming out of all the hairpins in 3rd instead of 2nd. It did not affect my exit speed very much (maybe by 500 rpm by the exit curb or so).

Congrats to the podiums...well driven Tristan (though you should have let Tim win for his BD).

My first time on this track. 100 laps of practice just isn't enough. I like the track though.

I actually thought I would be able to hold it together, but I just didn't have a good feel for the corner exits and even with a rear wing of 38 I managed to slide the rear end out in the second lap and limped around for a pit repair. I added front wing to compensate for the damage, but didn't add enough and wrecked again. It felt like the race would be a struggle to keep in in the 2's (that's 2 minutes).

I had some decent racing when I was on track, and I hope everyone had fun passing me...I suppose someone has to be the slower car to give everyone a chance for passing.

Well, know I know the track somewhat and will be able to be a bit more competetive next season.

Edit: Bob...I just watched the replay and it was me that tangled with you on turn 2...sorry about that. I didn't have any damage, so I wasn't sure if I was the cause or if there was more going on so I kept going...looks like it was both of us...my trying to keep from losing any more spots and keeping up with you...and you perhaps forgetting I was still on your left when you tried to go to the inside.
