USA GT: Anderstorp

Everything was going pretty good when my frame rate dropped to 3. When it came back up I was sitting in the sand too pissed off to continue.

one of my best races yet! i was consistent and fast, but could not keep up with kent! Congratulations kent!
An average of about half a second off kent's pace is almost like a victory to me, and ending in 2nd is a dream!

Great job by the lapped guys, always clean and always courteous! I have nothing but good things to say about this race, everything ran so smooth and buttery!

It's fun to keep trying to keep the 550 on the track, but I think what I've done is worked on the setup for so long that now it's too loose for me. I seem to be able to do OK on my own...catch up to other racers in front of me, but I just can't keep it steady when I'm following and loose control just when it starts getting interesting.

Gregg gave me a tip though...my rear brakes were set too high which tended to get me fish tailing into corners. I think I need to tone it down a bit and concentrate on consistency.

I hope my idiotic driving in the wrong direction and getting a black flag after the end of the race which gave me an in game DQ isn't going to count...oh well if it does. It was another fun day at Race2Play!

Indeed ... a very good race. No f*ck*ps this time. Just steady laps. After my stop the gap to Bobby had grown about 10 secs to a total of 16. Must be because that Lambo really likes its fuel. Wasn't completely sure if I would make it with the 92L I took so I decided not to try to catch Bobby anymore but save some fuel and keep a good distance to Dennis. That proved to be the right thing to do cos at the finish there was less than 1L left in the tank. Grats to Kent on a solid win and to Bobbby for a nice 2nd place. Also compliments to the drivers I lapped .... nice job there.

Definitely my best race in GTR2. It wasn't my best finishing position but that's down to the quality of drivers above me. Well done. I didn't have a single off in the entire race and was pretty consistent.

Had a very long battle with Larry Anderson's Ferrari and Marciej in the other Lister early on which was good. Both raced close with me at times but never hit me. After that there was plenty of solo running, but being my first GT race the car kept me on my toes enough. The Lister isn't a bad car for a beginner though. It has no answer to the Ferrari in a straight line but it handles nicely.

This seemed a very clean race from everybody so well done on that. Congrats to Kent, Bobby, George and all finishers.

BTW: Did anyone notice Steve Wood's finishing time? 1:30'00.000!

It is a pleasure driving with professional racers.. I have had the flu for the last few days and was going to unregister but, I am glad I stayed because the experience made me feel a lot better....... M.T.Gunn

Great race, everyone. Except Kent. It's not right that he is so much faster that the rest of us. He's probably an alien or somthing. My goal was to not get lapped. Well he didn't lap me twice! So in your face! He probably could have lapped me twice, and felt sorry for me.

The only incident I had was at the start with Maciej. He must have had frame rate problems. His car stopped dead on the pit straight, and I clipped him just as his car dissapeared. Great clean driving by everyone.

Bobby, I thought we were going to colide when you came back on the track on the last lap. You caught air when you came back on!

man, i find myself chasing Vettes a lot. and i really would rather be driving one, but the Lambo is a known entitiy, and i haven't had the time to work on getting a Vette setup together.

beside that, i just don't get this track. it seems the slightest little mistake and i go plowing off the high side of the banked turns. so i was a bit concerned as i joined the server with about 20 minutes or so to go to qualifying, with no time in the Lambo on the track. but thanks to the well thought out R2P schedule, i'd already done 2 races here this week and tonight, aside from the... what... 3 times i slid out of T1 by being just a hair off my brake point, or just a hair over my entry speed... anyway it all seemed much better than the previous efforts.

did i say i just don't get this track?

anyway, back to the vettes. Dan O and Tommy G seem to be all around me in this series. and it's always been a pleasure guys.

in the closing minutes, i was closing in on Dan when he had a bit of an off at the second right hander after the long staight. it was my only good chance to get by him, so i did what i could to pinch the corner and stay on the throttle, but his momentum carried him into me and sent me off track.

unfortunate, but just a racing thing.

not sure if he suffered heavy damage in that, or what, but it looks like that was his last lap.

sorry for that, Dan, the battle was great fun and it was shaping up to be a very intense closing lap or two.

The start was marred when I ran into Francesco, sending him into the grass - Sorry again Francesco. : (

After pulling over to wait for Francesco to get back on track, I was almost last after a pretty good start!

Well, this was going to be a long race, so I settled in to a steady pace and figured I could catch some of the guys ahead of me.

By lap 53 I was running 9th with a very quick Barret E. hot on my tail. Exiting Atlaskurvan, I lost it and poor Barret had no where to go but into my side. At that point my Vette decided it was the Space Shuttle and headed skyward, landing upside down and ending my race.

Barrett, glad to see you were able to continue for a hard earned 8th!

It was fun while it lasted and hope to do better next time.

Good race until my engine blew up on lap 21!!! My first blown f575 engine. I didn't believe it was mine at first. I have done first gear max rpm donuts for a minute and never blown this engine. Bad luck I guess. I did accidentaly shift to first when I needed second but damn, quick explosion. Oh well my fault but bad luck too, the math wasn't on my side.

10 DNF's terrible!!!!
