Hidden Valley F5000

Well I'm feeling pretty disappointed and a little annoyed with myself for throwing the race away.

I was going into turn 1 with Al ahead of me on the inside and I couldn't turn in without potentially taking Al out. So I started going wide off track. For a moment there I thought I was going to escape the sandtrap but right when I thought I was going to be able to get back on track it sucked me right in.

After that I had some fun making up a few positions and Al was probaly just cruising around until the finish so I closed up to 3 seconds.

I'm 99% sure Al had this race in the bag nonetheless but I would have liked to see how far off I would have been.

And on a more positive note, Congrats to Al on a textbook win, and to Rob for help making it a 05 Motorsport podium sweep. :)

Looks like Formula 05 wrapped up the Team title. Yay!!! Go us!!! :)

F5000 Hidden Valley Detailed Race Data

I almost didn't run this race, due to the fact that I didn't get any practice in before a couple of hours before the race. But I know the track and I missed the last race due to rFactor crashing. So i get to the track to practice, and I still wasn't sure about running the race. I just couldn't get below 1.07 and 1.02's were being turned. I couldn't get the gears right, the rear brakes kept locking up on me, you name it, it happened or tried to. I just couldn't get a setup to work, that I was comfortable with, and time was running out on me.

Qual: Being that Hidden Valley is such a short track, I was worried about getting in a clean lap. But as it turned out, most of my laps were relatively clean, although I did lap Jan once or Twice, which seemed strange. He seemed to be struggling with his setup. My Qual. run got me 17th on the grid, bout where I expected to be, so I was ok with it.

Rcae: The race started ok, after A few laps, I found my self running in 13th with a few sec's of a gap between myself and the car in front and behind me. But i was aware of who was behind me and the fact that they were behind me only due to mishaps in the early laps. A couple of faster drivers recovered enough to get past me in the next couple of laps. Then it was Norm's turn to be the one behind me and he was closing the gap. So i decided it was time to push harder to try to keep the gap from closing any faster. That was my undoing. Missed a braking point and went off track, Norm got past with no trouble. That broke my concentration and rhythm and for the next 2 or 3 laps I had several spins and off's, losing even more spots. Finially managed to settle in at 17th and that's where I finished the race. All thing considered, it was a fun race, especially the first 8 lap's or so. Had several short lived fights for position with some of you. Had a great time, see you guy's for the last race.

Really enjoyed this circuit...worked well with this mod...my only problem was I could never figure out that final corner and all my exits were horrible.

Race was very eventful due to the tracks shortness and I had a tremendous amount of fun....that is until the final minute when I decided it was time to visit the beach. I even brought along a bucket and spade and had plenty of time to built a few sandcastles....

Grats to Al on a fantastic win and everyone who showed up.

GR excelent with Rob and Paul, the plan was to have more ppl fighting for this top 5, but Mark and Jose had a tuch early in the race in a breaking point so this put them out of the top 5 game, the more profit of this was in the hands of Rob that coud take his pace and almost desapear, I was with Paul really working to be with him, adn then I saw Kamran coming and was like a clik in my pace, I overtake Paul and go for Rob that was having some lappers issues, before I catch Rob, Kamran overtake me and pushing pushin to catch Rob, the mistake came last turn spin, on the grass and Paul pass me...ehhehe, from there try to follow Paul rithm from 5 sec beehinde, for the 4th final, I dont know what happen with Paul that disapier, VERY GOOD JOSE, from the incident with Mark U., that put him 18, he came in 5th for the finish line.
With all of this the Team lost some positions, bad very bad.

CONGRATS the Podium always well deserbed!!!!!

Had a great race going until an incident with a car I was lapping for the 2nd or 3rd time.
Qualifying went great as I was able to duplicate the time I ran in practice. I was first in the human class (3rd) until Rob cranked out a killer lap. Great job Rob.
The race was going well as Rob, myself and Sergio became the battle for 3rd. I managed to pass Rob once but couldn't hold him off for long so battling Sergio for 4th became the goal. I might have succeeded had I not encountered a lapper weaving across the main straight as if to hit me when I pulled out to pass. I stayed way inside off line avoiding this joker and missed my braking point so it was off to the beach I went!
At this point in the race the beach party was in full swing and the "scenery" was great but all I had time for was a quick trip to the bar at the back wall on the grass back there and an exit "stage left" down the grass path.
I lost a bunch of ground out partying but still managed a top ten finish. Great race with Rob and Sergio........hope we can do it again at the last one!

Congrats Podium and all finishers. Not one of my favorite tracks. Had an issue with my G27 and managed to figure it out after qualifying (found out after leaving the pits, should have pitted, to figure out, instead of trudging around on track trying to fix! ) Forgot to add enough fuel for the entire distance, so a stop was needed, and was my demise. Had a bit of a scare early on, which ended in a spin for me, with Paul's, ah, admirer? Sorry to Mark Urban, at some point we were intertwined in t1 and Mark spun...(didn't give enough room..new u were there ,but that Freakin quick sand !) wanted to wait, but was not the corner to do so. Had a great scrap going with Mark U. after Mark K. and Jose made there way by, with a pace i was unable to match. Glad to get this one done. See ya for the last one @ Lakeside.
