USA GT: Zhuhai

Wow!!! what can i say! Kent just dominated on this one! CONGRATULATIONS KENT and Chris for the podium! Scott and andrew and i had an intersting first third of the race. Scott spun eventually and andrew i think was on a 2 stopper. So towards the end of the 1st stint, michael and i was at it good. It took him about 40 laps to diminish a 7 second lead against him. He gained about 3-4 seconds on the pit stop, in which i ended up RIGHT in front of him with 2 seconds of air. We had an awesome battle all the way through the last lap, in which he finished 0.6 behind me. BTW, thanks for waiting for me in T1, very cool of you! He was gaining on me on the slow hairpin in the mid section, but i had the edge off the last corner, which was what kept me alive (he wasnt able to draft me into T1)

A very exciting race. First stint I had two Lambos (Daniel and Chris) and a Corvette (Tommy) all over me. First Daniel flipt me on my roof and I was staring at the sun for about 8 seconds before the car turned on its wheel again. Luckily there was no real damage done. It's ok Daniel ... I know it wasn't intended. Then Tommy made a great move round the outside cos Chris was braking so early despite having that Lambo. Chris also gave me the scare of the race by defending the inside to T1 because I had more exitspeed out of the last turn. But then he moved over to the left again and I was there already. Please Chris ... changing your line once is fine ... but then stay there. This could have taken us both out. I left all three behind me after my stop and when Ryan did his one he was about 30 seconds in front of me with 22 laps to go. Got that gap closed to 2 seconds on the finishline. But closing in on a 550 is one thing ... getting by would have been a whole different story. Grats to Kent who was in a league of his own again tonight and to Bobby and Michael for getting on the podium. Enjoyed this guys .... cya next time.

Kent is too fast. I think you should slow down and enjoy the scenery. Are we sure he is not some kind of cybernectic life form? I'm just say'n. Congratulations. Amazing that he can drive that fast and not make a mistake.

I couldn't get a clear lap in qualifing. Early in the race, a driver in front of me went off, and I was able to pull along side. We went thru the corner side by side, I gave him room on the inside, and on exit he pushed me off the track. I drove my butt off to not crash or spin, but I lost about 10 seconds. We should be more careful early in the race.

Another driver lost his engine right in front of me, and as I went to go by him, he went to pull off the track on the side I had chose. I T-boned him hard!

Bobby and I had a great fight for the second half of the race. As the tires wore, I could tell he was having trouble putting the power down on the 550. Man, that was a blast!

I finaly got the pit stop down. I think every race I have got hosed on the stop. I ran a simulated race to try and figure it out, and it was good I did, as I ran out of fuel. That helped me figure out exactly how much fuel it would take.

This was one a real fun race for me when George, Ricardo and Daniel and I hooked up and had a ball slugging it out! thanks for the good clean racing guys!

Congrats to Kent and the rest of the podium. After a decent qualifying session I was set to go but within a few seconds of the server changing over to the race session I lost connection :( No amount of cursing and swearing could help me get back in at that point.
Looks like I'm going to need the run of my career to try and hold back Kent when we get to Spa in a couple weeks if I want any chance at the championship now.
I guess the bright side would be that it didn't happen while on the track and nobody else was affected by it.
Just shitty luck.

I'm very happy with the result. Solid Q, and flawless ride the whole time at my own pace. GeorgeP almost got me at the very end... one more lap and he probably would have had me. I was very pleased to make my medium tyres last the whole race, first time doing that.

Tommy, this was like "deja vu all over again", like at Monza. Once again you stayed ahead of my 550 with the Corvette, so I guess you're a much better driver than me :)
George, you pitted at lap 29, I was going to pit at 29 also but because I had a little fuel left I decided to pit one lap later, tried to do a fast lap and a fast run through the pits and hopefully I could leave ahead of you, but I actually lost some time. Bad luck to me :)

Sorry George I took my eye off the road to check my telemetry due to the fact my engine was starting to get hot. Did not mean to drift back into you. Needless to say my engine did not last much longer after that. Great race and congrats to the podium!!!

What a tough race for me. Qualied a little slower than I would have liked, but still up amongst a quick group. Race started and I settled into a very nice rhythm in a group with bobby andrew and michael. After getting past andrew, I just lost concentration on the last turn of the track and left a wheel out causing me to spin.

It took a few laps for me to regain my composure at which point I was a good couple of seconds behind michael.

That was the point at which someone's engine blew up around the kink between turn three and the first hairpin. Not being able to see anything, I had no idea this person had basically stopped in the middle of the track (or maybe this was michael after the t-boning) either way I broke my suspension on the impact and that was that.

Qual: I pulled up to the light and went a little too far and couldn't see it turn green LOL not that that matters I just thought it was funny. I had a few good laps but kept overdriving the final corner. I had pole but really wanted the Track Record but it just wasn't meant to be today.

Race: The 550 and I do not get along on standing starts so I was a little slow getting away with a lot of wheel spin and Bobby was right there as we exited T1. Andrew was right there also so I am sure Bobby had his attention behind instead of in front. This allowed me to open a comfortable gap in just the first lap. I had set my goals for this event to beat the race time for the Euro event so I drove every lap very agressive always trying to improve my best lap. By the time the stops came I had 30 seconds on 2nd place.

I pitted for a full tank and tires and saw Andrew come in while I was getting fuel. After the stop my lead was down to 19 seconds so I assumed Andrew didn't get tires....turns out he didn't get a full tank of fuel. I worked on getting my gap back to 30 when suddenly the gap behind was 46 seconds and a little later Andrew chatted that his crew wouldn't fuel him.

The rest of the race I continued to drive pretty hard but the tires were losing thier prime and my lap times were dropping off but I had no big issues.

Grats to all finishers and the traffic was very generous.
