Pacific nGT: Magny-Cours

Well that was weird. First I made the mistake of too much tape on the grill. I know not to do this and I thought since the temps were so low it would be ok. But it wasn't so from lap one on I had to short shift. So at 2/3 distance I pull into the pits for may pit stop. Autopit must have been on (I need to see what my plr file says) So the AI take over at the pit stop and never gave me the car back. This must be some stupid swap driver setting. So any way, when I could get control back I had to esc, out of the race. So another DNF for no good reason.

Congrats to Kent on the win.

I was pretty disappointed in some of the driver etiquette I saw tonight. I saw a car spin in the hairpin and then try to move out while the whole pack was right behind him. It messed things up pretty good for the people trying to get through. From what I know, the driver should stay put if he's facing traffic the opposite way and all of the cars are coming for him.

That pretty much put a damper on my race and that was on lap 1. Yeah, I know, boo freaking hoo :)

I will say I had some fun with a couple of different GTC's out there. That part was fun for sure.

Even though I took Barry Hedrick out on the first lap and spun him to last, He did a damn good job in finishing 4th.

Wooohooo I had a blast the first 20 minutes of this race!

Qual went well, had a great lap setting a PB with a 1:37.6

Got a good start and then almost blew it in the hairpin on cold tires. Conor took advantage and closed right up on me. We raced within a second for about 20 minutes, with the usual, one of us faster in place than the other.

Then we came upon an early lapped car, this was the difining moment of the race. I passed into the final corners and this guy tried to race me in, he locked up, somehow managed to keep from hitting me but in the process spun out right in front of Conor, effectively ending any chance Conor had of keeping up with me.

Well that incident gave me a 3 second advantage, and I opened it up to about 5 seconds, probably Conor's damage was slowing him slightly. Before the pit stops I had another incident with the same individual and the gap came fown a little but still I was managing the clock.

On my pit in lap I checked tire wear and had plenty, my lap times were already off but I figured if I take tires someone else wont and I will regret it. So I double stinted and while I was getting fuel Conor came in, wuite a ways behind me? Turns out he had another battle with the wall that he lost.

The only other moment I had was exiting pit lane, Tom Rue left his pit as I came up on him, he obviously couldn't see me and we ran side by side to teh pit light.

Rest of the race was a bit hairy on old tires and my lap times suffered pretty bad but still managed the gap with no problem.

Grats to Kent on the dominating win :).

Qual was crap, but the race was a little bit better....eerr not by much :P. I had a great start though which launched me from 4th to 2nd and raced a bit with Kent for a dozen or so laps. We came up on a unpredictable lapped car which almost slammed into Kent and eventually I slammed into that car after he broke faster than I thought he would.

That hurt my car pretty badly especially on the straights and lost a lot of time to Kent because of it. So I just strolled along for a little bit until the pit stops and right when I was entering pit lane, I for some reason, slammed it into reverse which sent me almost around and into the damn wall. Of course it stalled so I immediately added 30 seconds to the projected interval between Kent and I after I finally got going. I got the usual crap service from my world-renown pit crew and when I came out, I was about as far as I thought I would be from Kent, roughly 28 seconds. That remained the interval for most of the race as I crossed the line in a lucky 2nd place.

I dunno Conor, didn't feel like a dominating win. We were running very similar lap times the entire race. I am sure that if you didn't have the lapper issue this would have been a very competitive race for both of us.

Grats to kent , connor, scott and also barry charging all the way back to 4th.
I had a total of 10 laps in this car and this track in GTR2, so my goal was if i can hit a 40.0 during practice i will continue with the race, i did and so...

Qualy went terrible, did everything wrong but managed to get a lap in at the end for 8th, whooptie doo.

The race starts and b/4 the hairpin I am already down 1 spot, so i just keep chipping away and work my way up to 6th,I had a great battle with dennis for 9 laps until i finally got him, I managed to pull away to a 2 second lead until a lapped car plays a part on the exit of the hairpin, while i am being careful not to hit the lapped, i am watching dennis in my mirror and forget 1 downshift allowing him to breeze along side of me, then the hairy part comes,we enter the right/left flick side by side with me being on the outside and no track to use i spin, so onto damage control mode, i click off laps, enter my pit @ 40 min mark take on fuel only, and bring it home 5th.

I really see the limitations of the 360, the darn porsches would kill me in sector 1, i would keep pace in 2, and close in 3, but this car just cannot match the porsche outright power or its a case of ROOT

Things went pretty well for me at the beginning but I just don't have the physical stamina to race for a full hour. I need to set up a fan to help me stay cool.

Even though it is possible for me to do a low 1:42, I ended up with 1:46 or worse most of the race. The tires seemed to give out after 15 minutes and the rear was super sensitive. I lost the rear several times on the last chicane. It felt like I was ice skating - Porsches on Ice!

Maybe I was tired and starting to drive more clumsily. I'm sure I could have improved my car's setup a little though. Any of you guy's willing to upload your RSR setup for the track.

I'm thinking I might be better off racing the Porsche GT3 Cup in the G3 series. The racing skills demonstrated here at race2play are the equivalent of competing at a national or international level. Anyone who makes the top 10 in a race should be proud.

I had a poor start and was 5th at T1 but someone got a little overzealous at Adelaide and I was able to take 4th there. I managed to take 3rd from Scott, who made it very easy for me and I made a horrendous mistake entering the 2nd chicane. I was being far too conservative and ended up touching the gravel which shot me up over the curb into the bigger trap. I lost a full lap trying to get out and was 18th.

I just couldn't quit so I stayed out and ended up a dismal 13th.
