Pacific nGT: Brno

I must apologize to the Ferrari I tagged early in the race. I'm very very sorry for that. I probably could have regained myself after that but I figured I'd just let the car spin out so you would get your position back. I thought going into that turn that I would be able to make it cleanly. Apparently I was wrong. It really does seem like I still have alot to learn.

Anyways, after trying out many different cars I ended up with the RSR only because with it I was able to beat my previous best time from the other cars by about 1-2secs. After my first Qualifying lap I thought I was going to start off pretty good in the race in 10th. Then came the end of my second Qualifying lap which placed me 17th. Wow. Wasn't able to really improve too much after that. The start of the race didn't go too bad until my encounter with that Ferrari(again I'm so sorry).

Then around lap 3 my connection dropped me from the server. Just freaking great! My first DNF ever due to my connection. I'm still trying to figure out why its doing it. Its either my onboard nic, router, or internet connection. Either way it makes me very mad.

Congrats to Barry and the podium finishers. Wish I was able to stay and complete the race.

Well, that was a fun race down to the wire with Tommy and Barry.

I do have a question of etiquette for the masses, though. About mid-race I was right on Tommy's back bumper when he bobbled slightly going into the left handed hairpin (the one mid lap in the slow section of the course). I nudged him and around he went in a spin. Wanting to err on the side of caution, I waited and it cost me about 9 seconds or so - and eventually the win.

So the question is, what is a racer's responsibility in a situation like that? Wait or go?

No hard feelings either way, I had a blast running the last seven or eight laps trying to catch Tommy and then Barry. Good times!

Got on the server b/4 qual with no practice in this car. qualy 7th. aarrgghh

Race started off well, had a great battle for 11 laps until...i slid off the track and hit the tires, I pitted for about a month, came back out turned some laps, then realized my crew didn't place enough fuel for me to get to the end, I pit once more for fuel only, they decide to throw soft wets on the rear only *shocked* I couldn't make it 1 lap, tire puncture and stuck me back into the litter and no getting out.

After maneuvering through a couple mishaps on lap one, and hitting someone in the second mishap, damaging my front end, I finally got some clear space to move. Wasn't doing bad, not real good, but good for me. Pitted at 32 minutes, went back out and seemed to do okay, until the second to last lap. I was down to 1 liter of fuel, had no choice but to pit, grab a splash and finish last. That damn garage fuel section is so far off it ridiculous. I had it set for 66 minutes of fuel, ran out at 58. This is the second time, at least, that this has happened. Guess I'll just fill the damn car full to the top every time from now on. Anyone got a spare gas can I can through in the trunk just in case?

Good win Barry and congrats to Scott, I must have held you up for a number of laps because you really took off after passing me. That was some good driving. Great race to everybody! this is the way to spend a Friday night....LOL

Good race. Went with the RS just because I didn't get much practice for the GT-I race tomorrow and since I am not fond of this track, going with a slower car didn't seem to mean much to me :P.

Car actually felt pretty good in practice after making some key adjustments and in qual, I placed a solid 5th.

On the start, it got tight rather quickly going into T1...a few of those in front of me bumped into each other because of it. That wasn't as bad as T3 though as one of the porkas behind me divebombed me from the outside and slammed into Kent right in front of me. I saw it coming so early that I even had time to warn Kent on TS that he was going to get hit :P. So, I ended up staying in the same position because the divebomber kept going and Kent went backwards :P.

The rest of the race was just about cruising around. I was pretty much alone because of my slow ass car and I basically just wanted to get the feel of the car so I can be prepared for the GT-I race. I even chose not to take on new tires just because I wanted to get a good stint in on the same set.

While for the most part it was boring, the last lap was kinda interesting. For some odd reason, I slammed the car into 1st gear going into T5 and spun it around. Got it going again but this time, Kent was on my ass. I am not sure if he was on new tires or not but he was much faster than I was so holding him off wasn't easy. It came down to the last turn when I slowed up a bit and he nudged me because of his momentum. He backed off a bit and I still held control of the position and kept it for a few more feet across the finish line.

Overall, I am quite happy with the finish. Despite being in a slower car than the rest of the Porkas ahead of me, I was still able to battle with them a bit. The car held its own for the whole race...no handling issues to speak of and despite tires being quite worn at the end, it still felt good. So, grats to Barry for the win and to everyone that survived. A special grats to teammate Tommy G. for getting another podium finish...way to go!! :)

Not sure what happened here:
Started from the back of the grid after a terrible qualifying session, felt like I'd overheating my tyres or something so didn't manage a complete clean lap!
Avoided a couple of minor spins on the first lap, started lap 2 (or maybe 3) and exiting a corner all the cars around me suddenly disappear?! Pulled off to the side of the road and hit esc to leave the race. Once back in my pit I couldn't see any of the other racers, and after a few seconds I lost connection altogether! Very disappointing! I've obviously lost connections to servers in the past but never seen anything quite as strange as all that.

Anyway, Congrats to everyone who had a good race!
Such a shame my first race at R2P ended like that but oh well, got my name down for the next one so better luck next time!

That was fun, slowly getting the feel for GTR2...had a fun battle w/ Gregg in the beginning, then was by myself for about 30 mins, until the last 10 or so laps, when I saw Tom up ahead...spent about 20 mins cutting a 7 sec. gap...got to his rear bumper w/ 1 1/2 laps to go... got a run on the final corner going to the white flag, and then just held on for the final lap...very intense awsome race all around!

Whew another brutal nGTX race.

After lapping in practice I thought it would be better racing if I took the RS for this event. Managed a decent qualifying spot in 3rd with it.

Start was again pitiful as I spun the tires for what seemed like forever. Conor was gracious enough to give me the inside into T1 and I maintained my position in 3rd heading into the left hander at the end of the straight. Then a "man on a mission" got loose behind me and slide through the corner and bounced off me sending me into a spin. I was lucky to not get hit by 18 cars, unfortunately the 19th car didn't see me and caught my front end sending me around again and now with a lot of damage.

I took me about 8 laps to get back up to 11th and that is when things got real difficult. Drving the RS and lacking the power down the straights meant I had to do all my passing by getting a run off the corners to gain position. Spent a lot of laps racing with John Mueller and George Pol, this was some great VERY close racing! Eventually I got under John and soon was on George who looked like his tires were shot and I got by for 6th.

I pitted at teh 30 minute mark and screwed up and forgot to turn off the engine costing me some valuable time. Came out and puhed hard to hope for some gain. After the pit cycle was done Don Hibner came out right behind me. Again he was faster than it on the straights and it was difficult to maintain any gap. Soon he was challenging me and into T4 I got a little tap sending me to the grass, I stayed on the gas but that was a mistake, the rear end came around as I tried to reenter the track and I slingshotted right into Don :( Sorry man that was a poor judgement on my part. This sent me into a sky high tumble and somehow I landed on my wheels AND had my wings still. I was able to continue and raced to 5th place.

Grats to Barry and Scott, looked like you guys had a great race. I need to rethink this RS stuff.

I took the Ferrari because I never really raced it in the nGT class, was fun to drive, thought I would get a little more kick out of the straights, but didn't feel it.
T1 was a close call but T5 was a nasty (Apology accepted Eban, takes some time) hit from behind, after recovering from that race was good,had some nice laps with Chip and Jerry D for awhile. Car handled well but could not get it under 04's, still had fun.
Made 1 or 2 brain fades but managed to hold on for 12th, so glad it wasn't my lucky 13th.
Congrats to the podium and the new Alien coming alive Tommy Gunn, nice finish !!!
