Pacific nGT: Barcelona

That was just what I needed.

First I got dive bombed in lap 2 (which got me spinning and dropping back to last place), then I got disco'ed. Dunno which I liked better though, it's tough to decide.

I'll make this quick. DISCO!!! My appologies to Barry H. for the contact in turn 1. Sorry Barry.

Disco on lap11,only my 1st in GTR,2 in rfactor,looks like i wasn't the only one.

Wow, that was the biggest Disco field I've ever seen. Alot of competitive cars out early. It sure made for interesting racing as we had to dodge alot of "stuck" cars on the track for a few laps, some cars in very undesirable places like coming out of the backstretch chicane.

I was on my way to a 3rd straight podium at this track this week (sports cars) but for whatever reason, with only 1/2 lap to go, I decided to look down at my LCD and touched my left side tires in the gravel pit and Mr. Pol was able to pass me.

My first fuel run was excellent. Was able to stay near the front, followed B. Hedrick for a while, and took the lead for a few laps as the Porkas were pitting earlier than the F360s. I lost any chance for the win in my pitbox as I requested too much fuel, which cost me valuable track position. However, I took softs and came out 4th right behind Les. We reeled in George and I think George touched the gravel coming out of the last turn. Though he was able to make it back up as noted before.

All in all a very good race, 2 teammates in the top 5, and personal best finishes during 1 week. Congrats to the podium!

Disco fever. I thought I was doing pretty good, too, running in the mid pack with full fuel and hard tires showing very little wear. Bummer.

Well that was interesting, the only thing we didn't have is rain :)

Qualy... This went okay, reached 5th and didn't expect much more.

This being my first race in the Porsche, not very much seat time, all I wanted was to finish in the top 7.

Race...Got a good launch at the green, exited T1 @ P4 ran nose to tail for almost 2 full laps until Enis encountered his spin and his trajectory coincided with mine:( SRY Enis, no place for me to go, I kept turning up the wick and was 1-1/2 seconds b/h Barry and Tommy until they collided in T1 on lap 7 or 8, I took over P1 for the next 20 laps until the pit stop, since I had no baseline for the car I opted to go conservative strategy, George and I pitted at the same time but his crew guys got him out b/4 me :( Then George and I had a great 5 laps of battling after the stops until I got a run on him onto the front stretch and we had door to door action all the way into T1 and we both looped it going in, thankfully we didn't touch, that was a great battle George.

Then the lagged cars started showing their nasty side, I encountered them after the chicane, I nearly nosed it into the wall, then they were in a couple of other places along with on the front *yikes* then the disco's reared their ugly faces, sorry guys, this is the first time I haven't been on that side of the situation.

After a disco at the end of the GT-race, an encounter with the pitwall on entering the pitlane in the euro nGT-race and two to-desktop-crashes in practice for this one it was a relief to finish at all. Had a great battle with Jeff and in the end with Les and Charles. I enjoyed that guys. But never seen so many disco's before. They dropped like flies and ofcourse ... on some very akward places on the track. Looked like F1 at Indy a few years ago with only 6 on track. :-)
