Euro G2: Imola

I thought i was 17th at the start, the lights went off and suddenly i'm 8th! What a start. Afterwards though i was too heavy on fuel and stressed so i made a lot of mistakes and ended up in 13th.

I lost a bit of time also with a few mistake after the pit and ended up in my final position, 14th. The positive is that in the last stint, from 40 second distance to Barrett I managed to finish only 10 behind him. 30 seconds in 12 laps!!!

Oh well, I need more practise to get to the front of the field. Cheers guyz, nice race

Had a bad race. In practice and Qualifiying I couldn't find a decent setup. Then during Q I got a DISCO. Doesn't matter anyway as I am the slowest ;)

In race I had a good start but at the first corner there was a big incident. couldn't go anywhere. After that I was running in 16th place. Couldn't catch up with the field. During my race there where many off-track excursions. Sorry to anyone for causing some dangerous situations. :(

Well to sum it up Imola isn't my favorite track.

Next time better :)

ok, so I had a bad quali, but a good strat and good start but terrible luck in race. I got hit and spun THRICE!!! That’s 1,2,3 times too many guys!! Please be careful when following closely next time and at start, no matter which super hero action figure you think you are it won’t help your car stop on cold brakes! These incidents cost me 35 secs in total :\

Aside from that I was driving brilliantly (as usual: D) and fought my way nack up to 7th from 12th and pressured poor Pete into a mistake on last lap. Great drive thou Peteeeeeeee :)

Thought i had a good setup,car felt good in qual even though the result was poor.Then everything turned to crap,my teammate went to sleep at the lights,lol,i bumped him,i got slammed from behind.Then part way through the 1st stint got turned around.After the 1st pitstop,the car felt worse as the fuel laod lightened and everytime through the chicane was an adventure.At the next pitstop,i think the pit crew found a set of tyres that had been laying around out the back for a few years and didn't even bother putting air in them.Just lucky to finish 9th.

Well 1st GTR race for me and every single bad thing that could happen, happened.

I was unprepared: I spent the previous couple of hours learning Imola, but didn't remember to create and configure a properly named profile, so I hastily made one just before qualy and everything was a mess: the key assignments, the FF settings.

Still I was pleased to find that I had a solid midfield pace in the Biturbo, and probably could improve during the race. Qualied 12th with a cautious lap.

The start was bad. I always launch a bit too well and have to back off to avoid rear ending the guy in front, losing all the momentum. Then at Tamburello I was punted and my doors were "remodeled". I spent about 20 seconds restarting the car and pulling it out from the kitty litter. Still the first stint felt awesome, the car behaved great, didn't put a wrong wheel, and climbed from 19th to 12th, with some more cars within reach.

The first pit stop was a mess again. The GTR2 default pit behaviour is retarded... the confusing AI steering control, silly time-wasting menu, external view, confusing messages about stopping the engine while it seems to stop automatically... all in all I spent 60 seconds in the pits and came out back in 17th in the middle of some traffic, but in high spirits as the car was working great.

Then in that same lap in the climb up to Piratella my computer had a complete hard lockup, first ever in any game. Early dinner time!

I should be fuming, but I'm not, must be that the time I actually spent on track and racing was really good. Imola is tricky and unforgiving, but the Porsche felt really good around it.

Very fun race, and won it ;) My qual was better then i expected and the start luckily went well. Built up a nice lead of about 13s or so for the first pitstops around 35 minutes or so. Was running mediums and only took new fuel as the tryes still felt well. Got out in 6th or so? not sure but i overtook some people and then drove about 10 minutes and did my last pitstop, this time taking also new tyres.

Final part was so strange :P , got out behind George and after a good battle i managed to overtake before the top-chicane. However when i got in front i expected Allen to be a few seconds ahead of that, but to my surprise the #1 at that time had a lead of more then 20s :D ok was wondering about that but i just started to step on it to maybe catch him. Well i got until 10s or so and crossed the line 2nd, only to see a Porsche slow down lol, wtf? hehe ;)))

After the finish things became clearer ;) Anyway, was a fun race, thx all for driving! :)

Theo,no tyre change at the 1st pitstop,that could cost you.

Uh, but Pete said he didn't mind, go for tyres or fuel as long as 2 stops :) , at least that's what he said in the warmup-session ;)

You're OK, Theo, no problem. I think Barry meant the loss of lap times by double stinting the tyres. You did come up short with the 5 lap gap, though.

Not too bad a race for the Mosler, except for a couple of cock-ups on my part. First, I'd taken the setup straight from the Saleen and, with a few adjustments, found it better than my original. Except that I forgot to change the pit strategy and the crew tried to give me 100L. Lost a good 10secs at the first stop backing off the fuel (anyone know how to make the key press & hold? I had to tap out every bloody litre!)
Then right at the end, with Grecian all over me like a cheap suit, I misjudged my closing speed to Barrett through Acqua Minerali and had to swerve hard right to avoid rear ending him. Ended up sideways on the grass! Dumb :)

Actually, the series information states that you must take at least 2 tires at each stop. (Edit - I thought it did though I look now and it does not... you got me on this one, but I will fix that now.), however... your stops must also be separated by at least 5 laps.
