Hmmm ... another race that in fact was over after 3 laps. Quali in 6th was ok but at the start the car in front of me moved very late. I stayed behind him to not cause problems in T1 but others were flying by already. Exit T1 I was in 7th but on entering T1 of lap 2 I was punted out. There was really no need for that. A pass on the long straight would have been much better. To make things worse I got another punt one lap later. To make up some time I only took new fronts at stop 2. That brought me close behind Garret and Dennis but I never really could follow them because of the weardifference between front and rear. Only after about 6 laps they were more or less equal again and I could push again. But not enough time to do better than 8th in the end. Grats to the guys on the podium.

Well,lets say i was a little pissed off for a short time,as i had a sniff at a podium towards the end,however,probably as much my fault.Really ejoyed the race,surprised to get up as far as i did.

Barry, I appologize for getting into you toward the end of the race. I had lifted on the staight for you to pass, and I thought that you were far enough ahead that I would just swing in right behind you going into the bend. I wasn't counting on you bleeding off that much speed, and with the speed I was still carrying into the turn I couldn't retreat in time to avoid you. It was careless on my part...I'm sorry man. I'm sure I cost you the win on that one. I'll be more cautious in the future.

Just wasn't expecting you to slow so much going in, and didn't have time to react before making contact. Completely my fault. From now on I'll be taking it a bit slower in that turn, especially with traffic around me.

BTW George, I got a nice jolt to the rear fender from you toward the very end of the race coming out of the first turn. I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

NP Chris,all over and done with,these things happen,and i was only chasing 3rd.

Qualied great. Had a fast car, but got hit early on and never had too much of a chance to get back into the top 5. T1 was an absolute circus. didn't have the best race, but turned some consistant laps. Was able to get close to 10th near the end of the race, don't know how, must have been a spin in front of me or something. But got within 5 secs with 1 minute left. Too bad. Car was really coming to life. Had a great time, but pissed by the way things went.

Had a lot of fun racing with Mr. Hedrick. Thanks for making it interesting.

If that was my intention Chris I had 2-3 far better opportunities to do that earlier in the race and really do you some harm. But I don't drive that way. For some reason you didn't get the optimal speed out of T1 but I was trying to be as close as possible to you out of T1 to make a safe pass at the end of the straight possible. But sorry for the touch.

Not much to report. I got a good gap at the start with Scott being very careful in T1, and the gap grew quickly. First two stints went great, in the last one I made a few little mistakes and had some traffic issues.

Ari was just too fast for all of us.Kept pace with Scott,Mark & Garret until my 1st pit. Ran with Garret most of the 2nd stint & he was very consistent.After Barry went off,I was in 4th & was cutting the gap on Mark very fast. I cut it to under 1 sec. with 3 to go, but he ran some great laps with worn tires & I never had a chance for a pass.This is a tough track to get by lap cars,I thought John O. did a great job staying on his line,while letting the faster cars through.

How To Suck 101: results guaranteed.

1. Start without enough practice - get 5-6 laps in the morning using a set from some other track, knowing getting home in time to get some in the evening won't happen.
2. Miss pre-race practice and qualifying - not much to do about that, just be glad you made it in.
3. Ditch the set you practiced with and drive an untested one you tabbed out for. Find Conor's at R2P and figure it will be fast. Discover in race it doesn't work at all for you; big-time understeer costs you a second-plus over your morning baseline. DOH!
4. Be clueless about where the pit end light is, switch off the limiter too early after first pit for fronts and get stop/go.
5. Be in too big a hurry on second pit and hit enter on your pit board putting soft wets on the rear! Barely avoid looping it in every turn for the next lap until you can pit again for slicks (that's 4 pits now).
6. Stall engine in pit lane waiting for traffic to clear since others in your way probably have salvageable races underway. OK, this only counts for half points, but you might as well dot your i's at this stage of the game!

Honestly, I have to admit I did fall short in a couple of areas. While I did manage one small solo off from outbraking myself, I somehow failed to run into anyone or anything. This left me finishing with an embarrassingly shiny BMW two laps in arrears of the race.

But you know what, I still had FUN! Love the one hour format; perfect online race distance IMHO. Plus, it was the christening event for my new Sennheiser HD555's. Amazing how much sound detail I'd been missing before. But an inline volume adjuster would've been nice; they're a lot more efficient than the Plantronics cans I'd been using. Let's just say my brain may return from its currently gelled state in a day or two...
