Garret Diduck Has won his 1st R2P Race. Congrats Garret. WTG!

Wow - I'm sorry for the carnage at the start. That was 100% totally my fault. I thought my rear tires had hooked up a few meters off the line, but then with (seemingly) no warning they went completely to ice.

If there's a bright side at all, it's that my car seemed to suffer worse from the ensuing mayhem than anyone else's. I would be even MORE disappointed than I already am if someone else would have taken more damage & had their race more severely affected from my idiotic mistake than I did. :(

Again - sorry to have caused such a schmozzle at the start.

Nice Quali for top 4 to begin with, almost nothing seperating top4 well done..

Race was not too bad, couldnt keep up with the pace of the front 2 and made a few mistakes which lead to loosing last podium place... Was never going to get it back, specially after spinning coming in for second stop in the pitlane ( i hate this circuits pit entry )

Backmarkers having a good battle kind messed my concentration in the last few laps, lost 4th to Barry Hedrick, but on the last lap looks like he ran out of gas .. unlucky bro.

Happy with end of race result .. Grats to podium and winner!

Wow! That was intense! Fantastic racing in the 9th thru 12th positions.

In the practice session I had the 9th best time, go to qualy and with a time only a fraction slower get 19th on the grid. :( Oh, well, guess I need to make a qualy setup. I chose to fill the tank full and hope for the best. Turned out it lasted the entire race, with about 5 litres left at the end.

The start was a bit rough - someone spun-out apparently, lots of cars all over the track trying to avoid each other. I bumped into the back of someone, sorry, and continued on, in 8th or 9th position. Held it for quite some time, I think I was in 9th at my first pit stop. Came out in 14th or so.

Managed to get back up to around 10th, and had some great battles with the guys around that position. It was great fun. I felt real good tonight, I was looking forward to this race all week. The battles were on, I think I got up to 9th and was getting close to second pit stop time. I had a 1 1/2 second lead over the 10th place car, with 11th and 12th right behind him. So I'm wondering, when should I pit? Now? No, next lap. Now? No, next lap. Then I see the 11th and 12th place cars disappear into the pit! Doggone it! Oh well. Next time around both me and the 10th place car pit. I came out in 11th I think.

More great battling with the guys in those positions ensued. I managed to get up to 8th at one point! Fantastic! Only 7 minutes left! Gotta hold it! Crap! Late braked! Slightly missed the corner, and now I'm in 9th! Okay, hold on, only 5 minutes. I'm managing okay until the last lap - coming around Turn 7 I over-accelerated and just went off into the grass, just a bit, but enough to get passed! So I'm right on his bumper coming up to Turn 9, he brakes, I brake slightly later, bump him, and guess what? Do I punt him? No. Does he spin out of control giving me my place back? No. Instead, I just pushed him ahead abit, opening a gap of 1 second! Well, so it goes. Me in 10th, Kevin in 9th, just a second or so ahead because I pushed up there. heheh.

[edit] Even though we finished 9th (Kevin) and 10th (me), the results put us back one position each. I'm guessing it turned out that way for others as well?

Could have sworn the in-game results said I was 8th instead of 9th. That's weird. Congrats to Garret.

well i snagged a good start !
saw cars spinning on the start - and took the right side
big mistake - cold brakes and WHAM dead stop-
found reverse , backed up to what i thought would be clear but no - another car right there ---

SHEEET! What a screw up I made tonight taking that Seat to race with. Had a decent qual lap considering but was only good enough for 3rd on the grid.

Start was horrible first the thing stalls then spins the tires 2-3 times and I drop to 5th before T1 and muscled through to 4th. Raced hard with Hienz for a number of laps then he finally he made a mistake and I got by. Then I reeled in Jeff and somehow snuck under him in T3 only to drive into the grass at T5 :( dropping all the way to 4 seconds behind 3rd palce Hienz again.

Battled my way back up to Hienz when I pitted for some fresh rubber, much needed rubber LOL I exited pits in 6th and waited to see where I would end up. After all the pits where done I was running 2nd about 7 seconds behind Jeff and Garrett was coming from behind. With the traffic the three of us were running real close when the pit stops began again with Jeff diving in around lap 21. I finally got passed by Garret then proceded to drive like an idiot for 2 laps before stopping.

I figured my only chance was to just take front tires so I had a real short stop and didn't even lose 2nd place. Then Garret pitted and I had a nice healthy 11 second lead :) Well a few laps later my rears were going and I had a slidways session out of the kink on the back of the track and slid all the way into the wall losing 6 seconds of my lead :( After that my tires were horrible and every hairpin was a challenge just to keep the car from spinning out. Garret was coming about 3/4 a second a lap but I still had time...I thought. Well on the final lap Garret was right behind me and I just couldn't drive hard enough to keep him there and he got by on the back straight and exiting that corner.

So I am second okay....no I miss my brake point in the final corner almost take out Garret :( and slide off losing second place too :(

Oh well there goes that championship but I did learn something, it doesn't pay to take a slower car when the championship is on the line.

If one of the top cars have already finished the race, they could have left the server before others had finished. The in-game display will factor out the driver who has left, but the actual results file will not. That is why some may have seen in-game finishing order different then what is posted here.

Something fishy happened here...I was chasing Chip and Kev around for the last few minutes...9th (Kev) 10th (Chip) and myself in 11th...I was aware because I kept saying "When Chip spins (lol) I'll have a top 10 finish" Well Chip was getting sideways and leaving tire smoke around the last several turns, but never lost it (good job). The checkered came out and I finished 11th, Chip 10th (as he attests), and Kevin 9th...no one finished and exited because I was in 11th before the race was over...anyone?

Qualy, for me it couldn't have gone much better, Ill take it.

Race, While on TS I made my tire choice to my competitors, after my choice and 15 seconds to grid time, I double checked the track temp and I was extremely concerned with being able to get the tires up to temps so I opted for Soft / Meds, Sorry guys, I didn't want to mess anybody up that close to the green with my change. B/C I was starting P1 I figured I didn't need to drive balls to the wall and could conserve tires if needed to.

The green drops and so does my starting position :) P2 T1 :( I hound Garret for 15 laps with nearly a bobble, I would reel him in in the slow stuff, I could even out brake him nearly everywhere but he would kill me on corner exit b/c the Porsche just has more oommpphhh.

Entering the 1st pit stop window and garret 0.8 seconds in front, I call into the pits, I tell them to get the front tires only and be quick, I have cold Warstiener for you if your really fast, after all I have a Porsche to upset:) 14.8 seconds later I am serviced, exit the pits P4, run a couple more laps and pass garret while he is in the pits :) Whooo, I finally ducked him, *wiping brow* lead the next 13 laps with a back end that a was more loose than a $8 hooker until pit requirement #2, not THE #2 but pitstop 2, take on 4-tires and away I go, exit P4 again, feeling good but getting really tense, with 2 to go and the Porsche reeling in my beemer, garret gets me going into 5, I let him thru only to take it back from him the next lap in T4 with his small bobble, for him to get it back in T6 from my understeer due to cooked front michelins, but none the less, intense, then as I enter the last corner and see kent testing out his new Seat Toledo Grass Mower and I was more than happy to accept a second place finish.
