Pacific G3: Hockenheim

What an epic battle George and I had for the entire race! He gapped me at the beginning when 2nd and 3rd tangled in the chicane on the opening lap. I worked my way to GP's bumper and stuck there the entire race. GP had a run-in with a Viper on the front straight and I took the lead for about 3s while having all 4 in the grass! We resumed status quo and had no other issues with traffic. You guys did a great job. With about 7min to go, I tapped GP enough to spin him heading into the stadium. I waited on him and we resumed our battle. I lost my chance for a win when I got loose coming out of T2. GP got a 4.5s lead on me, so I settled back for 2nd with about 4mins to go. On the next lap, I caught GP in the chicane while he's sitting still. What a shame GP! This was yours to win tonight. I cruised the final 3 laps to the finish. Great racing GP!

Side note: Tim, how did we do as a group running over the white lines? I had all 4 over a few times I must admit at T1.

Bad race for me. Was doing ok in practice, but couldnt pull it together in qual. A tap on my hotlap didnt help, and really only got one other lap to qual with, so started from the back.
Had a few good battles, but ended up getting run off the road by a viper trying to pass through the sweeper, back tho 15th. From there on in it was just a matter of dodging the front runners and trying to finish.
Fuel ended up killing me with about a lap and a half to go, altho i apparently had enough for 45 laps, not sure how these things are calculated, but the fuel calculator has been my demise on a few occasions.
Oh well, DNF's are a part of racing....

How much bad luck can you have? This is the second time this season I discoed while being in the lead with about 4 minutes to go. Very dissapointing ... not only losing the race and fubaring the ranking, but also losing the lead we had as a team in this series. Garret already described the race and yes ... it was very close and intense. Thank you for waiting after the tap. A true sportsman. With me discoing you deserved the win. Still one to go ....

Again I found myself entering this event to support FMMS and Tommy and I were fortunate to get a 2-3 out of it. Apologies to Rob for the first lap incident but IMO you locked up and I just kept going and there was contact. When you made this mistake I should have backed out and I didn't. I served my penalty and worked my way back up. I was sorry to see George disco with so little time left.

I was surprised to learn, about halfway through the race, that 4 wheels over the curbing on the exit of T1 would be allowed. I know I went over a few times when pushing but I was doing my damnedest to keep 2 wheels on the black and this cost me significant time.

I know Mark had my number and he pushed me to my limits. I was supremely glad when I finally got the gap up to a massive 7 tenths of a second. Great race Mark.

Grats to Garret on a fantastic run and to Tommy for P2.

I don't agree with the punt rule and I don't agree with allowing us to go 4 wheels off every lap. Thems the rules so I will live by them.

Im with you on both of these Richard. Both have evolved from user input/suggestions over the past 8 months. While I may not like it, I must admit the effectiveness of the no-punt rule has been amazing. The dropping of part of the white lines rule just eliminates a hurdle for new-comers to R2P. This specific rule has always caused problems to the new guys.

Garrett: I thought the T1 issues were OK. I do not like seeing cars that far "off track", but in the whole scheme of things it had little effect on the racing.

Not the best race for me, ran ok for the 1st half. I think I used my tires up trying to keep TC behind me. 2nd half felt like the track had ice on it spinning 3 times.
My teammate GP got pole, & ran a great race. Bad luck with another disco:( with 4 to go.

I was having a good race, although i was pushed off twice (first was by Jeff VanStone, a dive up the inside), coming up from 12th, first battle with Nils Erikson, then caught up to Branden Warren in 6th and it was getting good, while i was waiting for a good opertunity to pass, a do or die Richard Hylands who was coming back from a drive through had just caught up to me attacked on first chance he got, gave enough room but he bumped me off the track on the exit of the corner, lost 3 places.. anyway .. few laps later i spun and a big viper collected me head on, decided there was no reason to come back on..

Perhaps a 'No Contact' rule on the first lap could be looked at. I don't consider my touch a punt but I definitely turned Rob around and incurred the penalty. I have only done a few races since the 'No Punt' rule has been in effect and Tommy has informed that it has made the first lap a lot cleaner.

I must apologize for the no-show last night - damn Cox cable service sucks! I changed my account from business ('cuz I was hosting a web server at home), to residential ('cuz I now co-locate my server). In the week since doing that my service has gone down every day, went down yesterday for both internet and tv, and a tech won't be out till saturday! :( Now that really sucks!

I dumped the clutch and off we all went into T1, I was taking it easy so I wouldn't make contact with anyone, well that cost me two spots by the time we came out of T2. So I thought to myself "dude you better get it in gear or you're gonna get lapped". LOL

After settling in I just tried to put some good smooth fast laps together and see where I would finish (again, this is my 2nd league race ever). I was running 3rd or 4th and got behind another car in 16th place. I tried to pass him once going into T2 and about took us both out, dude shut the door on me hard…LOL. So I decided to just follow him for a few turns and see if I could pressure him into a mistake? Well that didn’t workout as planned, 'cause I'm the one who made the mistake by getting my inside wheel hooked on the curbing and off into the grass I went. I waited (seen a bunch of guy’s cars fly past) before going back onto the racing surface and found myself in 8th.

Fighting my way back (and some luck with others going off track) I find myself behind Richard Hylands. I could not have put anymore pressure to get around him without "moving" him out of my way. You did a heck of a job keeping your cool and not making any mistakes. Good run Richard! :-).
