Historic Magny-Cours

Good start, got into P2 by the first turn. Then P1 when Andy spun. Original plan was to pit at the end of the first lap, but I figured I'd stay out as long as I had a clear track.
Oops! A little bobble and I lost the spot.
So I hit the pits. Splash and go...
It probably wasn't the best idea. I then had to drive through several incidents at Estoril which cost me some time. I then overcompensated by driving a little too hard, which isn't a good idea when you are trying to go the distance on one set of tires.
But I got up to P3, and when Andy and Ali pitted, it looked OK for me. I had a great dice with Ali, side by side as he exited the pits, and I took the lead.
But that was pretty much the end of my tires. The car just would not hook up in the chicanes before the S/F. First Ali and then Andy got past, and I was back in P3.
Next time I will take tires and also sabotage Ali's car.
Still a fun race, almost mistake free, and I had a blast dicing with Ali and Andy and the other GT40.

Early laps had some good close racing fighting for 7th with whoever was in the Jag. Got a little rubbing in, no incidents, just good ol' fashioned racing. Thanks to whoever it was, was a pleasure.

Pitted early to get out of traffic. Was being mobbed by a bunch of Lotus' who would eat me alive in the chicane and turn 1/2. :)

Had nothing for Mike, Ali, or Andy.

Rarely have I sim-raced a car as bad as the P.O.S.I raced here. All it did was cause me embarrassment;worthless. I stopped in the pits and got my front yard mowed just as the race ended then pulled across the line and avoided DNF.DFL though,and I really freakin` hate to be DFL.

I'm getting a bit sick of this... My 3rd race with R2P and the third time if been smashed off in the first lap. And I thought i read somewhere that wreckers weren't welcome??? I qualified in 7th and got up to 4th by the first hairpin.

At this point I did nothing wrong, braked at exactly the right time and then ***whack*** [Cut by TM]

I am very sorry that you have had issues in your three races so far Paul. Understand, you will be hit from time to time in any online race, either by your mistake or someone else's mistake. I realize you feel you have been "taken out" three times now, but that does not mean that R2P events have wreckers riddling them, or that we allow wrecking. However, we *do* allow mistakes... you just happen to be on the wrong end of those mistakes three times now. Im sorry and Im sure things will get better.

sorry for last post, just annoying when you have a decent chance of getting a result and it's taken away from you.

I picked the Jag knowing that I couldn't win in it but hoping to fit in midfield having just recently got its setup sorted. It's a pretty good car once you sort it and not too popular.

I qualified OK as my brain was booting up given the 5:30am start for me. In the race I missed the lights as seems to be becoming a habit for me because they were in view but too small to see. Thankfully David Ulmer behind me was alert enough to miss me. Thanks and sorry.

I was cruising around happily until with only two minor offs until lap eight when I caught a spinning Cobra at Adelaide (the jump) and was speared through the gravel and into the wall at the left pretty hard. Just a racing incident but frustrating for me as I was in a decent position at the time. I then went off a lap later pushing too hard to catch.

After my pitstop I was far more consistent though with only 0.8s between my slowest and fastest laps for the final 11 laps (I even did the exact same lap time two laps in a row!)

To Paul Collins, I haven't seen anyone here who intentionally wrecks, but my opinion is that practice and qualifying are a bit too short for people to have sorted their consistency come race time.

Man I only hope I can join next race :/

Second race at R2P, but given my involvement in the issue with Mr. Paul Collins, I thought I'd best make this my first post.

I was actually surprised that I got into the race as I signed up late and didn't expect that many people to drop out. As such, I had extremely limited seat time on Magny Nat, and virtually none at all in a GTC-65 car. Opted for the 'vette - I find it's predictable when you're uncertain of the track (the 'grunt to get up out of corners that I've pooched is welcome as well).

So I weave through the mess on the start line, pick up a couple of spots due to some early trips to the beach 'round Estoril, and head on down the long road to <*insertname Adelaide/Chateau D'eau>.

Coming into the above mentioned corner, I assume that Paul Collins' had to check up to maintain line, or not run over someone (-irony-), and his Lotus grew much more quickly than I anticipated. I got on my brakes as soon as I realized my line wasn't going to be clear, but unfortunately the big 'vette couldn't slow up quickly enough, and I drove straight through the little Lotus. Entirely my fault - first lap, lots of traffic etc. Should have exercised a bit more caution.

The day was capped off nicely with my first pit stop...wherein I pressed Esc while attempting to figure out the whole business - ending my race around 7 laps early. Was in 5th when I pitted, and just wanted fuel. Really should have practiced that whole thing before the race...

So all in all not a great day at the track.

And Apologies for calling you a wrecker. But you know how frustrating it can be and i suppose at the time of my first post i was still sulking and ended up being an arse.
