Historic Nuerburg

I figured I screwed up so bad in the first race that I might as well use all those rental points on my favorite car in GTL.
Rory stayed with me pretty well at the start, but I was taking it easy and I think he cooked his tires and eventually made some mistakes.
I pitted on about lap 15 but screwed up with the buttons and didn't get any fuel. Came back in the next lap and got my fuel, and cruised home.
Nice work by Ali and Roberto. Not sure I could match those times in those cars!

Congrats to Mike, Ali and Roberto (Mike, just a little difference in car choice between races, lol). I had a nice first half with a fun battle between David Ulmer in the Benz and myself in the Elan.

I pitted 1/2 distance and was going with tires only but my pit crew spent 2+ minutes repairing damage suffered on the first lap when two alpines had a meeting of minds at the last chicane and I could not avoid the carnage. I thought I had chosen "no repairs" on the pitboard since the car still felt fine, but I ended coming out in last place and even though I made back nice time on the car in front I did not have enough laps to make up a place. I was hoping for a much better finish as Ulmer and myself were holding station mid-pack during our battle.

I will see everyone at Anderstorp in a few weeks (I hope to see a few GTL fun runs in between: hint, hint, nudge, nudge).

Um ... I don't think Rory had enough points to drive the Cobra ... :D

1st place in TC65 = 1pt
1+1 =2 ... = Merc or Jag

I started out heavy on fuel enough for the entire race, since the Elan is so easy on tires, figured I can pit late. Roberto pulled away as it looked like he was on light fuel. He built a comfortable lead. Came in pits 3rd, figured I do a splash and go, and try and come out just in front of Roberto. But my pit chief was a doorknob and waved me to the wrong spot! :)

Stupid GTL pits, I always have trouble finding the pit box in this game, I think I pull up too close to the dude. Lost 30 secs going back and forth, stalling it a couple times until it decided it would let me pit. :) Then it was just working hard on worn tires to hold off Paul, who was gaining on me pretty fast at the end.

Uneventful race really, had the pace on the field bar Mike and Rory so tried to keep it steady and get the points in. Pleased with the pace of the chevy to be honest. Nice drive Mike in the beast :)
