V8 Symmons Plains

I just missed the grid due to a last minute errand. I had to go pick up my mother and run her into the metro system and did not make it back in time for the start. I could not convince her to wait an hour or so, so I made a roundtrip run that would have given me the pole :) of the race. I watched the race and had a good time, great racing guys. Congrats to Darren and the podium!

That was fun, until my car caught on fire.

I qualy'd 13th and worked my way up to 10th or so, had some good battles in the 10th - 13th positions for a while. Was in 10th when I pitted the first time, came out in 14th. Worked my way back up to 10th again, ran until pit guy says tires worn. Pitted and came out in 14th again. Worked my way back up to 11th, on lap 53, just on the bumper of the 10th place car, come to the right-hander just after turn 1, the wall starts right there, I just caught the wall with my right-front corner. My car went up in flames! Man, what a drag. I saw others tag the wall head-on and no flames, but not so for me. :( heheh, it was fun though.

Congrats to Darren. Lost the race because of 1 gallon. Only noticed I was gona be short with 10 to go. Tried to save fuel, but saving 2 laps of fuel in 10 laps with 2nd on your butt is pretty much a lost cause. Huge congrats to Rory. I don't know what happened to you at the start but you were pretty much tail end of the lead lap the whole race and made it to 2nd. Huge hand of applauds to you.

Woohoo, can't believe I got a win out of that. After taking my two pit stops back to back in the middle of the race I came out into a battle with Mark and Kevin, I was in front but a lap down and I wasn't sure who had pitted twice and who hadn't so I let Kevin pass rather than fight him for it, then Mark blew past down the back straight which wasn't part of the plan ;) So I had a battle hanging onto them after that but then Kevin pitted and rejoined right in front of me by fractions of a second and now we were in sync for sure. Mark soon pitted too so I was left to try and keep up with Kevin. He pulled away but then I came back onto his tail and then very near the end he darted into the pits (for fuel I think) and I took the lead. I drove those last 3 laps more carefully than ever before. Very unlucky on your fuel there Kevin, but very good drive.

The sun shines on a dog`s ass occasionally.

First time online with the V8's. Surprised myself when I did not qualify last but lost it all in the first lap after my rear got clipped turning me around into the barriers. It looks like I drifted in front of the guy behind me who clipped my rear quarter after I slowed to avoid a tussle in front, just one of those first lap racing things. Pitted for repairs (which was probably a mistake after seeing how light the damge was to the front splitter) and came out well over a lap down. After that tried to make up time and ended up going off again into the barriers damaging the car. Went for an early bath after that.

Spent the rest of the race watching the close racing for 3 position. Good driving by those involved, fun to watch.

My first pit went well, actually too well, I got a black flag for speeding down pit lane. I had to come around for a stop and go penalty which messed my day up. I opted for front tires only on both pits and kinda wish I would have taken all four on my second stop. I was too loose after the second pit and got into a few guys while entering a couple turns.

Sorry about the start guys, i had no FFB.

Because the wheel is very light in these cars when not moving, I had no idea i had lost it until the race started :(
Thought that was the end of the race for me, but i decided to see how it feels.
For somebody who has had FFB wheels from the beginning, it was horrible :(
Very surprised to be able to keep a good pace and even more surprised to get 2nd.

Great race. Managed to get to 1st place with my two pitstops out of the way, but i then notice im running out of fuel, so i knew i needed a 3rd pitstop which knocked me back down to 6th, enjoyed some good racing tho with Darren, Allen and Kevin.

Apologies to Chip and Kev Thompson, Chip i could not stop in time at the hairpin. Kev i think you spun infront of me leaving me with nowhere to go, sorry for ruining your race.
