PLMS: Barcelona

Started OK by qualifying 2nd but then it got worse.

I don't know why it happened but I lost all wheel resistance (centering etc.) between warmup and start. This has never happened before. I noticed this during formation lap and went off as result of having zero steering feel at T1.

I am just so far off pace in these cars, I think this is it for me with these cars

DISCO! I'm so pissed right now, first time I have ever got disconnected during any race anywhere.

Lost concentration for second.... crashed to a wall

But I still love this cars :)

LOL. This race was doomed from the start for me. Put softs on in qually about the fixed tire setting :-( Tires got too hot all the time and after only 40 minutes they would wear out. Bumped into Ray somehow (you were warping a bit, but I think you noticed yourself :-)) Had to make an early pitstop to repair the damage. Cost about 30 seconds extra.

The second stint was a similar story. Tires worn out after 40 minutes, spun out and tapped the wall at low speed, losing the wing anyway. Again back to the pits, losing another 30 seconds.

Third stint went a little bit better, but then I had to make another pitstop. Fuel went in, but the counter kept running and I was stuck for another 30 seconds (???).

Fourth and final stint went to plan, but I was pretty tired so I decided to take it easy.

Anyway, this was a pretty good result for MTR. Allen finished in 2nd and I finished in 4th. Congrats to all who finished (survivors :P) and especially the winners of course.

Pfff, long stuff ;) Nice race. Qual for me was pretty good and in the first hour was about 20s behind Nuno until the first pits lost some times figuring how long it took and got a lap behind. However after that a bit later got the lead as present (thanks ;) ) and after that it was trying to just drive clean and fast to hold off Allen who was closing in at times.

"Thank God, 2.5 hrs later the finish line finally appears." is exactly what i thought at the finish, mostly everything hurts lol :P

Grats Conor for Gt2 win and thanx everyone else for a good race. And thanx to all Gt2 guys, you really made my life easy on all overtakes :) , had some small moments of confusion but those were usually my own fault ;)

Boy, this race was tough. Not in a real physical way but the darkness really wore out my mind :P. The dark was worse here compared to Montreal because there was NO trackside lighting, even down the front straight. At least Montreal had some...This really threw a whole different perspective into things.

Yesterday was pretty much the only day I got a good amount of practice in. Car didn't feel good at first but after a few tweaks, I felt comfortable with it.

Qual was crap as usual (I am getting used to saying that :P). Got a 1.45.4 but because of traffic in my way, I probably should have had a 44 of some sort. Nevertheless, I still grabbed pole.

I started the race with a good size lead and it kept growing through about 10 laps. Then I got a huge lag spike in sector 2 and found myself back in 4th...bleh. So I worked my way back through the leaders which actually proved to be quite fun :). The racing was clean and fun but I got a couple more lag spikes which kept sending me back (the server was probably against me today :P). I did finally get the lead and started pulling away again. Coming to the first stop, my tires were completely worn so I added some rear wing and that made it much better.

After the first stop, we started entering the first phase of the race where twilight started to settle in. 2nd and 3rd were not that close to me so I ended up cruising around trying to save my tires and my equipment. It was a pretty calm stint, however, I got some damage from a lapped car who spun out right in front of me. The collision sent my front end airborne a bit but I was able to take control of the car again and continue on...no harm no foul. Towards the end of the stint, I spun out because of worn tires but again, managed to keep it going without losing much time and patience.

Final stop came and I elected to go with softer tires and less fuel because only 30 min were left. I definitely needed the grip because I knew I was going to be sloppy in the darkness. The final phase proved to be the hardest part of the race. I had no competition close behind me so I just focused on racing the track, darkness, and lapped cars. All three were difficult to deal with and attrition started to rise from there. Luckily, I kept my nose clean all four wheels on the track for most of the last part of the race and I came home safely in first :). phew!

Grats to Gort on the GTR-1 and grats to anyone who finished the race...t'was a tough one :).

Wished more would've showed up...but oh well.

Sorry Maurice Claessen I was the one who had a few lag spikes and almost crashed then I tried to get out of your way which never works :) .

I was pleased with Q posistion, then glad to see Nuno crash to put me on the podium.

Uneventfull lonely race, I spun once about halfway, then in the last 15 minutes I got lazy and went off a few times for minor damage.

GT2's were great, thanks. Sometimes too cautious especially at the end of the race, but still great. I only made 1 or 2 bad decisions to bull my way past a GT2. Then in the last half of the race, everytime I go to pass Tommy Chritian I would go wide or slide around!! Hope you got a good laugh TC!!

So, good race, very pleased with P3! See you next time, I hope we can get more racers!

Jumped into to this at the very last minute just figured I would cruise and try to survive but no luck. Not knowing as much as I should about rFactor, there were no lights for pitting and I kept seeing this double red arrow, yep I guess that is the symbol for a penalty drive through, I get a warning so I say hey put the "limiter" on from the beginning of pit lane and proceed through, nope...DQ!
Well now I am taking some time to study what you can do and what everything means in this SIM.
Tommy C, thanks for the last minute race setup, the car felt good and was looking to get on pace after 20 mins orf race time.
