Euro PPRC: Toban

I missed the point that there were actually two classes racing separately. Had I noticed that I wouldn't have pressed mr Topley that hard for T1 on last lap. Sorry mate.

Well for me that was a race for the recyclebin :P
Got ok qual and start, but Bas and me tapped going up the left corner and my car got very light and it turned. Spun it back around and got underway again. Was very carefull with the Panoz's i had to pass but after a lap when i passed someone in the hairpin i suddenly got a big hit in my side. Car felt very damaged and would hardly steer left, so i parked it on the side.

Grats to Bas for the win and i hope for some better luck next time ;)

Someone launched a black Panoz into my rear at T1 and I lost the nose, so I just cruised way off the pace until the end.

Wouldn't have done much better with a working car, as apparently only the very fast people showed up leaving me with no one to actually race with...

What a piss-poor lot of racers that seem to be entering into this Euro PPRC series. Sorry, I don't want to be painting everyone with the same brush, but this is BS.

Do the Euro PPRC lot just have a different set of standards for what constitutes clean racing and first lap behavior?

I WAS going to make a serious effort to run this series in the Panoz, and frankly stood a good chance of doing well. However, in Race #1 I was taken out on the first lap, put into a wall at turn 4 with permanent engine damage.
Race #2, I get taken out first lap, first turn, punted and flipped over with permanent suspension damage.

So instead of being a series front-runner, I am bringing up the rear and my season is effectively done. And in neither instance did I receive an email with an apology. In fact, the last 4 times I have been taken out of a Euro race, I never received an apologetic email.

This is what you lot call good racing and upstanding behavior?

Yep apologies Theo for the contact, was obviously letting you past and as I put the brakes on car went sideways and into you, sorry about that.

Great run Ali, no answer to that, a bit more consistency could have seen JB in trouble, but now have a free run till my next scheduled race in this next week, so plenty of practice to keep those Sharks off my tail ;-]

My 1st time in that Porsche and it was fun! Hate Toban thou but all in all a good race :))

Tommy, I can appreciate how pissed off you feel, but this wasn't the almighty punt it might have appeared from in-car. Ben tried his best to stay as far right as possible to give you room (see screenies), but there was just a small tap on your rear right panel. Normally this would have been easily corrected, or at worst ended in a harmless spin. The mod's collison recognition totally over-reacted to a minor incident. Check the replay to see what I mean.

I've watched the replay and yes there seems to be some weirdness going on as Ben's car suddenly apears half embedded into Tim, which subsequently gets launched into the air and flies onto my back, not very hard but enough to spin me, then Ben finds me sideways and gives me the coup de grâce sending me to the barriers. I won't get angry about that either... being sideways in the pack in the middle of a flat out corner doesn't leave much choice for those behind.

Of course the only fix to this is give more space to everyone and get everybody on the same mindset about what "easy into T1" means. By T1 I had given up two positions to cars that had started in the inside. I could have been much more aggressive: I play with a very high FoV so I can see cars getting alongside quite well and squeeze them to kingdom come, but still I'll always trade a couple positions for a clean first lap, and after that get back whats rightfully mine if I really deserve it.
