Historic F1: Monaco

I wasn't too concerned about my finishing result, so I played it cool and ran an easy pace. Guess the track was just evil today to a lot of my fellow racers; sorry to see the season finale end that way for y'all. :(

I spun it on a formation lap, yep that's correct. Embarrassing to say the least.

I have joined Mnypit's exclusive club, and not only that, the 'cause was almost the same as in his case, though I'll keep it to myself.

One of those days.

Inexperience at Monoco did me in. Got to 5th by attrition with plenty of time and space behind and ahead. Came out of Tunnel too hot, too early in the race and killed the motor and suspension on the fence on the left at the end of the chicane.
Using those balls HRH told me to get but should have dialed it back some that early.

Anyway, pretty enjoyable while it lasted. Spent alot of time practicing and I can see why you guys like the track. Plus, a PB during official practice. Look forward to the next time.

Steve I saw that, you know I couldn't do that. :)

Made a little booboo and pranged the left front. Was doing OK after that but kept having little touches that gradually worsened the handling and wrecked the car. Congrats to whoever got the podium.

Also big thanks to my teammate David Banta for helping me with setups all year. It was nice to be able to run near the front in a crappy car.

I think this will be my last race in this series though. For the amount of time I spend practicing, the fun to frustration ratio is just too low. Hats off to everyone who has the cojones to race these things!

LOL. Apparently those crazy Porsche GT3 Cups snuck onto the track at Monaco!

Great race! I only wish my start had been better, as it was not easy to find a nose past Hattingh while I pressured him on. After looping from overcooked brakework (but continuing w/o loss of pace), I had the misfortune of running over someone's lost front wing, which punctured my left rear and ended my race.

Well done, those who finished!

Qualy went awful never got a clean lap in.

Race started off good, entered T1 10th, worked my way up to 7th then set my sights on Francesco, we battled 4 laps I hung w/i 0.7 of his rear wing until he had an issue with the T1 outside wall, at this point being in the proximity I was to his rear wing it left me no room to change course, I clobbered him, I limed around the track to the pits, got serviced in 105 seconds and didn't have my engine mapped and the Ferrari expired.

Grats to Craig and it was a blast this season.

Onto S6.

Qualified well, on the second row, I was proud of that.
I said to myelf, "take it easy, long race, cold tires, don't be a fool". I took it easy the first 3 or 4 laps, then started picking up the pace. On the fifth lap I missed my braking point at T1, beginner's mistake, and bounced into the wall and a poor innocent Jeff Stibling who was close behind had nowhere to go. Probably the most dissapointing mistake my whole career at r2p, and it happened at a race I wanted to do SO well at, and I took friend down with me. I know this is a hobby and it's supposed to be fun, but some errors make me lose sleep.

OMG 11 DNF's. Unbelievable.
